I purchased these slippers for my mother who wears a size 5 AA narrow. It is very hard to find a slipper that fits her feet snuggly and with enough support so she does not wobble when walking. These slippers are easy for her to pull on with the tab behind the heel. After a long search for the perfect slipper for her it was FINALLY found. She has neuropathy in her feet and these slippers are going to keep her feet nice and warm, along with great support from the heel.

Giesswein slippers are expensive, but they are worth every penny! They are very well-made, last for years, are warm in the winter & cool in the summer and have better arch support than most shoes. I have had 3 pairs of Giessweins over the years (various styles) and I am quite enthusiastic about them. Once you wear a pair of Giessweins, you realize all other slippers are garbage. This particular style is almost a shoe--it has a really durable sole. You could totally wear it for a quick errand without feeling (or looking) like you left the house in your bedroom slippers. I have only one minor complaint...the locking bungee cord that runs around the opening of the shoe to allow for custom fitting. My husband has these same slippers & his bungee works fine (in fact, after several years, the elastic gave out, so he replaced it). Every day, he puts the slippers on and tightens the cord for a snugger fit. My slippers have the same cord and lock, but it doesn't appear to be elasticized at all. It's just a cord, not a bungee cord, which seems kind of pointless. Because of this, I have just been ignoring the "custom-fitting" feature of these slippers. Not a huge deal. They still fit fine. Maybe next winter, if I want a snugger fit, I will replace the cord with one that is actually stretchy.

Oh my! FINALLY I have found a house shoe that has excellent arch support, great cushioning and a cute style. They fit lovely around my feet, so often slippers have minimal support and are too loose around the foot. These shoes are simply lovely. I have struggled as our home is mainly tile floor which has wrecked havoc on my feet. These shoes are the solution I have sought.

From the minute I put them on, they were a perfect fit! I did not want to take them off. I am usually a 7.5 in shoes, but from the reviews, I went up to a woman's 8. They weren't hard to get on or off and no slipping of my heel. Whoa...get them while you can! Thanks Zappos :)

LOVE these slippers! I was looking for slippers with some arch support for my flat feet as I am home a lot. As others have said, they felt like the arch was high at first, but on the second day they felt great. They are warm but not hot, and I can wear with socks or without. Do order a size up though. Will buy again!

I am recovering from a lisfranc injury and have a custom orthotic. It has been hard to find a good looking, warm slipper that I could use the orthotic with. There are really warm and comfortable, both the one with the orthotic and the one with their own footbed. I had read that they ran small so I bought a full size larger than I usually wear and they fit perfectly. My only complaint is the price. These are not cheap slippers, which almost made me walk away. But now that I have worn them, they are well worth the price.

this sizing is way way bad. too small and I ordered a larger size based on the noreviews on your site. I am going to Nordstrom

I tried 4 different styles of Giessweins, and these were my favorite - they were easy to slip on, my foot didn't feel confined but also didnt slip around when I was walking. Great arch support.

I felt the length was good but the width was too snug and uncomfortable. I have neuropathy in my feet and so I am seeking a shoe (or slipper worthy of street use) that is very kind to a foot with neuropathy. A medium width with this shoe doesn't work for my foot width size of 'D.'

Giesswein makes great, warm slippers. A little on the pricey-side, but they're hand made in Europe. These did run a little on the small size (felt more like 13's than 14's) - but they will relax to the foot (as they're boiled wool).

Bought these as a gift for my husband, and he loves them. He's a slipper guy (I'm more of a barefoot kinda gal), and was really struggling with other slippers not breathing well. These breathe great! He did replace the insole with a custom one because he's on his feet a lot in these, and wanted to get the best support possible. With replacing the insoles ever year, I see no reason why they couldn't last a lifetime.

My husband loves these slippers! He wears a size 11-11.5 shoe and the 12 slipper fits him well. Great arch support.

Best slipper I've have ever worn for my flat feet. Arch is high, true to size, very comfortable and well made. I'm believing they will be very durable so I'm thinking I will enjoy them for many years as my in door shoe. Thank you Zappos for your wonderful customer service.

These are great shoes for mulling about inside (chores, etc.) especially if you have hardwood floors. My feet are wide and I have high arches and they provide plenty of room and support. My only quibble is that the insert could be a bit softer.

These are the best slippers I've owned in a while. Very comfortable, nice arch support and a soft wool fabric provides just the right amount of warmth without causing your feet to sweat. Not sure about the long-term durability yet given I just bought them 3 weeks ago, but I'm pretty sure they will be fine. Removable footbed should help them last for years.

Ordered these to replace some cheap slippers that did not last. They are comfortable and run true to size. I like the rubberized sole for minor use outdoors on sidewalk. They are warm and I can wear with or without socks. I would buy again. Got these because they are enclosed and you can increase tension at top if you desire. So far have not needed any adjustment.

when my husband heard me say how much I loved my Giesswein slippers, he asked me if they had men's styles. He is really pleased with his and is wearing them all the time inside. His US shoe size is 9.5, and we ordered the size 43 (US 10 equivalent) and they are roomy enough for socks and not too big.

I have feet that are always cold and these slippers are really helpful in keeping my feet warm. They run small so though I wear a women's size 11 Narrow I got the men's 43. I would have loved them in red but the men's only come in a few colors. They are really nice looking slippers and though they are quite expensive I'm glad I got them.

I'm so crazy about these slippers! They're well beyond the price range I usually stick to for shoes I'm just going to wear around the house, but they're worth every penny. I have horrible foot problems, and the arch support in these things helps so much! I put them on the instant I'm out of bed and pretty much don't take them off until bedtime at night. Even so, my feet don't get sweaty in them. I love that! Just wish they made more outdoor shoes, too. I'd buy one in every style.

The best slipper I've ever worn-period. Blows the other boiled wool & Ugg slippers out of the water. The arch, which is removable, fits my foot perfectly & makes for a very comfortable & warm slipper. There is a tough sole which makes this a 'lodge slipper" but I can see myself where these out to the store. They are on the heavier side for a slipper & well made. I have neuropathy in my feet- my feet make decisions independently from my brain. They are very happy, warm & cozy. I normally wear a womens 11-12, or a mens 10.5 since its not easy to find a womens shoe in my size. Anyway...I ordered a mens 44(euro size) and they are perfect. Enough room to accommodate a heavier sock if wanted. There is a thumbs width distance from tip of big toe to shoe tip. And a draw cord which snugs up the opening if needed. Just wish there were more of a selection of colors in the mens sizing. Am looking forward to trying their other styles.
