the fit was different, great arch but not comfortable. Very difficult to slide on and off, you really need a shoe horn. Too exspensive for a weird fit.. very hard insole.. dissappointed.

For everyone who requires heavy duty arch support, enjoy. I could not get the shoe off fast enough because of the discomfort from the arch. I am returning this item for another brand that, unfortunately, Zappos does not carry and it is almost identical sans any discomfort.

way too tight/length and widh

These run small, I usually wear a 38 and had to go to a 40 to get a good fit. The 40 is a little bit large so I wear a sock with them. The cord in both slippers broke after only about 6 months of wear . The company does have replacement cords and were not willing to do anything about it , only to say take them to a seamstress! Thanks to Zappos for their excellent customer service. They replaced them. I will be happy to have a new pair but I would not buy these again due to the fact the company does not stand behind every their product.

For me, not comfortable or supportive. It seemed to be an orthopedic friendly slipper based on info and other reviews, but for me there is very little arch support and is roomy top to bottom. They look great, but will immediately be returned.

Very heavy shoe.

I want to love these.....BUT. I ordered a size larger and the toe space (top to bottom) is killing me. I have skinny , on the narrow side , feet but the toe box is too tight. What is going on with all the shoe design and sizing. I have three pairs of new slippers to try and they are all the same. Cannot order larger as I would be swimming in them. They must go back.

These slippers look great and having read the reviews I was prepared for some aggressive arch support but I've never felt so much pressure in my arch. I have to assume that there are people for whom this feels good and if you're one of them these may be great for you. They seem extremely well built and they're far better looking than other slippers. That said, I've got to send them back and find a slipper that doesn't have such a high arch.

Nice classic looking slipper. But it was more than a full size smaller than marked. Couldn't get my foot in at all. When I compared the size to my foot it was obviously too small. I am a size 14, and the slipper was Euro 47 which Zappos says is Men's 14. Dunno.

This is a HEAVY slipper. That is not necessarily a bad thing, but it is weighty for sure. It also runs really wide and short. I normally wear 7.5- 8 , I ordered the 39.. it felt huge, so I ordered in the 38 (thank you Zappos); it too was wayyy too wide AND my toe could reach the front of the the slipper. I would say these fit like keens do for me; too short and way too wide, but it is a slipper so that is not huge problem. I like it ok. Not my favorite slipper, but I wanted something with a sole that would allow me to step outside without damaging the slipper. I bought the green. It is nice looking, but all in all I am not thrilled with this slipper. It is passable, just not great and at this price, it should be great.

sorry, i had major difficulty getting my foot into the slipper -the arch is too high. Once i got the slipper on the foot bed was too wide- altogether not right for me

The first pair, in my normal size were flopping all around and were too big - so I returned and ordered a size smaller - - my toes hit the top of the slipper.... I had to return completely.... I wanted to love them, but, they didn't love me.

The 40 was a little too big and the 39 much too small. My custom orthotics wouldn't even fit in the 39. I'm considering giving the 40 another try because my orthotics fit perfectly , I liked these so much. I just wish they were more true to size. The arch is far too aggressive for my collapsed arches but woild be good for high arches. Toe box fit my wide feet !

I liked how they looked on, but my heel slipped a lot with every step. These are not clogs. To put them on and to wear them, I had the cord stop all the way out, which seemed to fit. Maybe they would work for people with smaller ankles who could tighten the cord stop.

Not comfortable for me

A real clunker. Very heavy weight feeling on feet. Way too roomy for my slender foot. Made me look like big foot. Has a substantial removable inner sole for support, but taking that out would have just made it swim more on my foot.

I found these slippers very uncomfortable. They felt too small in size and had way too much arch support. It felt like I was walking around on tennis balls. I'm sending them back.

I was glad the shoe had great arch support. I got the bigger size as reviews recommended so the length of the shoe was right. But the shoe was too big around the ankle so there was flip-flopping when I walked. The elastic couldn't tighten enough to solve the problem. With that flip-flopping there was rubbing on the ankle with the rough wool. The shoe was too expensive to keep with this issue.

I ordered this because of the arch support but it was not at all comfortable. I am used to wearing Birkenstocks shoes and arch supports and compare everything to that benchmark. This arch support was in the wrong place, was hard and very uncomfortable. It seemed like a small bump instead of the gradual arch support I am used too. Thank you Zappos for letting me try it out - sorry I had to return it. I kept the Orthaheel slippers instead. They don't look as good but are very comfortable at less than half the price.

Wow, do these run small. A Birkenstock 40 is just right for me; a 41 in these is way too small.

Purchased slippers on sale from Giesswein. Emailed asked if I could exchange for a different size. They replied to return slippers and use same discount code and repurchase when the size I need is available again. few weeks later they cost more and they will not give me the same price. Awful customer service. They also have no where to leave reviews on their website.

I normally wear a US size 6 so I ordered the smallest size available which was the 36 which is supposed to correspond to a US size 5. They were way too large. I even tried them with a thick sock but could not wear them. I wish a smaller size had been available. Same was also true of the Giesswein slippers. Very sad that I had to return them all.

I made a big mistake on these. Ordered when there was snow on the ground and able to wear for the first time 2 weeks ago. Most uncomfortable shoe I have ever worn. Toe box inadequate, they weigh a ton and my foot slid all over the place inside the shoe. My error should have tried to wear them earlier so I could have returned them

I don't even know how to write this review as the shoe was so small I couldn't even fit into it. I ordered a size 15 which came through as a European size 48. On Uggs, for instance, their 15 is a 49.5. Anyway, the slipper was I would guess 2 sizes smaller than marked.

This Giesswein Vent wore out way too fast for the money it cost! I do not recommend this shoe at all due to the quality of the sole. I wore this slipper 100% in the house and never once even stepped outside. 5 months later the bottom is gone. I have never had a piece of footwear go this quickly and am extremely disappointed. I feel as if my money was truly wasted. Buyer beware!
