The arch support was very UNcomfortable for me. It isn't something I could have ignored so I had to return them.

Terrific footbed with wonderful arch support and toe width. But way too much volume for my skinny feet.

Ordering one size bigger than my usual size is perfect. They feel a bit wide, but I think I'll get used to that. They're very comfortable and warm. The bottoms are thick and felt heavy at first. The arch is pronounced, but I need that support and it feels good right out of the box. I couldn't see wearing these out of the house though, since they don't provide a lot of support on the sides. The fabric bends easily. The tie on the top helps keep them a bit tighter, but I wish there was a way to tighten the fabric more. I would buy again just for the arch support.

I was super excited about this shoe but sadly I had to return it. The show itself is wonderful but it is too large and it is a very heavy shoe. I had to pull the strings up very high for it to secure onto my narrow foot, and even in doing that, they still tended to fall off. However, they DO have EXCELLENT arch support! This shoe would work best with a wider foot!

I bought these slippers 5 years ago and they were the best I have ever owned. They finally started to fall apart, so I went to buy a new pair. Very unfortunately, Geisswein has since changed their materials and these shoes now have a synthetic rubber sole instead of a natural crepe rubber sole. The former crepe sole not only lasted long but made these "earthing" shoes. The new rubber sole is much denser, so I found this new pair to be heavier and stiffer. This made them uncomfortable as slippers, so I returned them.

The elastic tie on the left slipper was missing. The slippers were too short even though I ordered a half-size longer.

I'm bummed these didn't work out for me because the arch support is great and I think they would keep my feet at a just-right temperature. I wear a 41 in Birkenstock sandals, but seeing other reviews I ordered a 42 in these. The width is about like regular-width Birks, but my big toe just hit the end. There also seemed to be too much volume in the slipper for my foot, and the sole is kind of heavy, so with every step my foot pulled up in the heel and then the sole thumped up against it similar to flip flops. Tightening the pull tie just added weird pressure and chaffing, and my foot still slipped a bit. My feet are pretty bony, so if you have any fat or swelling in your feet these might be great for you.

The quest for the perfect slipper hits another dead end. These were close: cozy, great support, comfortable cushioned footbed, covered your whole foot. But they had one deal-breaker problem: the sole is so heavy that your heel lifts out every step. I tried cinching the toggle at the instep more tightly, but to make it tight enough to keep the heel from slipping required it to be uncomfortably tight on top. I had to return them. Another small issue that will only matter to those with great sensitivity to itchiness - the wool fabric is slightly itchy. It is very soft, but it is wool, and even the softest wool is a little itchy. I only mention it because no reviews I saw covered this and I had wondered.

I'm trying hard to find a pair of slippers that I can use to get to my rain gauge and bird feeders this winter. These looked like a good possibility. I heeded others' comments and ordered one size up. They were right; Runs small. The arch is the deciding factor, however. Other reviews mentioned the arch being uncomfortable. They, too, were right and there's nothing to do but send the shoes back.

Fantastic slipper, incredibly comfortable and helped my knee and foot pain. Thanks to previous reviewers, I ordered one European size larger, and it was perfect. You can feel and see the quality workmanship. Incidentally, I ordered the same shoe from a different online store, and it was not the same quality slipper. I've worn Haflingers for years and while they are good, they're not this good - it's difficult to find a selection of slippers with full backs.

Really can't give this show an honest rating because I could not get it on my foot! Opening is narrow and draw string does not help. Like the look and feel, just wish I could get it on!!

I'm 92 years old and this shoe, though very nice, is not comfortable on my foot.

Well, darn. I was hopeful from some reviews that this would be the slipper with the arch support I need for plantar fasciitis. First off, they run a full size small. I'm a true 8, slightly narrow, and almost always wear a 39 in European sizing. I occasionally I go up to an 8 1/2, and, once in a blue moon, down to a 7 1/2. The 39/8 in these is so short that my big toe is pressed against the end of the shoe. The arch while definitely there doesn't come up to meet my own slightly high arch and it seems that the highest part is more forward on the foot than my own arch. I'd considering up a size if the arch worked, or if the fit was right, I'd consider replacing the insole with my own orthotic. But given all the "not quite" factors and the price, I'll keep searching.

Extremely overpriced for a slipper that is just "Ehh". Put your foot in it on a cold day and it is freezing because of the material the sole is made from. Wool is itchy. Little drawstring thingy serves no function except digging into your foot if you try to kneel. Seams not finished properly, had loose threads that if I pulled would have undone the entire seam around the top. Really wish I'd returned them and not wasted my money. Hate that they are only whole sizes.

Is this a slipper or a shoe? Taking one from the box, the first thing I noticed was how heavy and how wide it was. I guess they are unisex, which never works for me. The length was fine but I think I could have fit both feet side by side in one shoe. Even tightening the string didn't help. These are going back.

Great shoe/slipper, wonderful materials. But it has a wide heel so it slips off my foot. Also, has inconsistent sizing. The entrance hole on the right foot was so small that I could hardly get it on. The left was fine. I found this sizing issue on another model of this brand as well.

The length was good, but it has a very shallow footbed and is fairly narrow. Well made and would have kept if it fit.

These suckers are so hard to put on! Forget it if you have high arches. And I don't imagine it's much easier if you don't. Fairly comfy once you've gone through the contortions, but I didn't think they lived up to the hype.

Even though I ordered a size larger as recommended, it was still tight. Also the cinch closure (string and spring loaded grip) I don't feel will last long leading to a loosening of the shoe. I have this type of closure on other items (dog leash, back pack) and they just don't stand up to repeated use (and you will wear the shoes a lot more often than I use the dog leash or back pack).

I really wanted to like these, as both my sister and I have Giesswein coats that we love. This is a pretty color! But the sole was just too thick and heavy. It felt like wearing a brick rather than a slipper.

Zappos and Giesswein tout "made in Austria." News flash - pull out the lining and discover these guys have are geographically challenged: "made in Slovakia." I really do want Zappos (if you're reading) to make this change on your site. It is untrue and makes me question the integrity of the companies. I went up a size (as recommended here) and while the fit is good, the draw string around the foot loosens completely after walking a few feet.

This slipper is comfortable but quite roomy. After reading other reviews I thought the arch support would be more. I had to return the first pair as the material where the string attached tore and created a hole. The replacement pair had problems with the string staying tight...I removed the it and replaced it with an elastic one. This is so much more preferable and is working great. For the money I paid, I would not consider ordering this slipper again.

The slippers were comfortable but the adjustable fit toggle has now broken on both slippers. I am unable to wear them anymore because I can’t tighten them. At this high price point I would expect a lot more. Not worth the cost. Poor quality. Don’t buy these.

I love these slippers… but after a year or so the fabric on the fastener unraveled on one slipper and now I can’t tighten it and get it to stay on my foot. I am so disappointed. I only wear them in winter and now I guess I will have to toss them. They were so expensive…I thought they would last several years.

I purchased these slippers because I need arch support. These slippers did not provide as much support as I need, and the arch area of the shoe was uncomfortable - very hard. The shoe was also too loose for my foot.
