I needed a pair of warm slippers with arch support, so I put that in the search line at Zappo's and found these Giesswein Vent slippers. I ordered my usual size, but when they came I thought they might be a little short. However, with only a day or two of wear, they have formed to my foot and are wonderfully warm and comfortable. And I love the color.

My podiatrist recommended that I not go barefoot and wear slippers with arch support, and these have turned out to be ideal. They are great for lounging, but I can also make quick trips outside to unload the car and such as well, given the rubber sole. They also accommodate my wide feet. Well worth the higher price.

These slippers are very well made and exceptionally comfortable. I'm big and tall and the very sturdy arch support was just what I needed for my plantar fasciitis. They're very good for standing for periods, in activities such as cooking, etc. I really like the indoor/outdoor sole as well that I don't have to change shoes just to go out and get the mail or walk to the garage to retrieve something. I would definitely recommend these shoes to a friend.

I bought these for my hubby after my Mom and I gifted a pair to each other for Christmas. I have them on as I'm writing. Absolutely worth every penny. Fabulous, removable footbed. Cozy warm yet breathe wonderfully (not like Uggs - which my feet steam in). I think I've worn mine every day since Christmas - no pilling, wearing great. HIGHLY recommended.

I have not had slippers for years, since I started wearing orthotics. I bought these in a slightly larger size to accommodate my orthotics. My actual size fit, and the arch support is so good that I do not need my orthotics! I am so excited about these slippers! Thank you!

I have been having a hard time finding slippers with good arch support. I have plantar fasciitis and high arches; I'm so glad I found these! I bought the slipper in grey. I have worn it inside the house as well as when I've gone out. I really love that you can insert your own orthotics for added comfort and most importantly, support.

Way too small for European size that I ordered, seemed two sizes smaller.

I ordered these half a size up as recommended. I am glad the reviewers pointed that out. These are wonderful slippers in the correct size. When I put them on I thought "big and swimming." After I wore them for a while the first time I thought, "so comfortable, room for my feet." Then later that evening I thought "my feet are warm and comfortable but not hot like I feel in other types of warm slippers." I really love these, give them a little time to get used to the different feel.

These are the best slippers I have ever owned. The only thing that could make them better is if they were to embroider a few flowers on them to make them look a little more feminine. I have high arches, a wide ball of the foot and a narrow heal, our house has 32 stairs that I use all day long. The slippers fit and feel like a dream! Also, I want to add that I ordered 12 pairs of slippers from Zappos in search of the very best one and this was it!

I have been looking for a comfortable and warm slipper that I could wear around the house, especially during the winter months. I have plantar fasciitis, which can be very painful. So far, I am pleased with these shoes, as I can pull out the insert and put in my orthotic beneath it. It's like I have a custom fit slipper. Would like to have had some type of embellishment on the slipper like some of the other ones Giesswein has, but comfort right now is key.

Wonderful slipper but had to return. Made comfort a 3 due to the arch support. Too much for me. Would really like to have kept them.

My best slippers. Excellent arch support, light weight and breathable boiled wool. No sweat feeling as you would have with synthetic fabric. Ok not sexy, but for me feet are very important. I live in Texas and the slippers are not too hot for most evenings because of the material used.

I wrote the newest review. I received the size 42 and they are perfect. I have very narrow feet but with the pull around the top and medium socks, they fit. For me they are not just slippers. I live in flip-flops so the slippers will be casual shoes. Definitely go up a size. A woman's IS size 9 sounds huge in a European 42 (size 11) but that is how they run if you want them to fit. I do not have arch problems so I will see how they feel around the house. The insert is quite large so you cannot really remove it.

Followed the advice of others and ordered one size larger and they fit perfect. I was told by my doctor to use shoes around the house with good support particularly a metatarsal support. As well as my feet being cold when around the house. These house shoes are perfect. The support fantastic. I no longer have the pain under the ball of my foot from wearing cheap slippers. These are the best discovery I've made for my feet. I plan on buying a pair for my wife, my son and daughter in law for Christmas.

Who could have imagined slippers with such great arch support! These are the most comfortable shoes I own. I wish I could wear them to work. One thing to note is that Zappos' European sizing conversion seems a bit off. It says 46 is a 13, I think it's a 12.

Wow Giesswein! I can't say enough good stuff about these shoes. My feet were absolutely killing me from Plantar fasciitis and the second I put these shoes on I knew I was in paradise. My feet have been thanking me every day since. Like other reviews have stated, order the next shoe size up from what you would normally wear and these should fit those standard feet of yours. These slipper/shoes have excellent arch support and make your feet feel like their walking on cloud nine. Don't think twice about buying these, you won't be disappointed in the shoes, or Zappos excellent service.

These are very comfortable slippers with extremely good arch support. If you are looking for a flat-bottom slipper, then this is not for you. However, if you prefer a slipper that has good support, then you will love this slipper.

Slippers are terrific! I had read reviews on this product before purchasing, and that was a big help in ordering the right size.

I bought these as a surprise for my husband. Actually, I couldn't stand his Acorn slippers that really weren't very old but had worn through and looked shabby. These are wonderful and very comfortable. Well made and should last many years. My hubby loves them!

Got these for my partner's flat feet. He has to wear orthotics. I thought I would be able to remove the arches and put his in, but the arches that came with the slippers were quite good, so we kept them. He wears 10.5 so we ordered the 10 and 11, and kept the 11.

I went with the reviews and ordered a size up -floppy on my feet with the built in arch in the wrong place. Ordered my normal size and due to my high instep, I really can't get them on easily, although once I did, the interior fit was pretty good. Since I do want to just slip them on, these aren't going to work for me. I'm probably going to go with the Taos. Acorn is in the running, but I need an insert to manage with those.

The color was darker than I was expecting. I normally use European measurements when buying shoes because of the consistency. My usual European size fit my foot, but was very snug. I bought one size up and those fit well. Otherwise, I really like these shoes, the arch support is great.

I seem to need an 8.5, the 8 was too small, my toe pushed against the end, the 9 is a bit too large (not true of my Dansko's), but I'll shuffle on, as I love these wool slippers and their arch support. Apparently they aren't making this style anymore....

These fit well, but the arch support wasn't quite right for me and the instep was just a hair too tight. I had to return them.

Disappointed I paid so much. These are available on Giesswein website for $99 and I paid $149.99 ? second pair I bought because I liked my first pair so much.
