Seriously, these slippers are unreal! I've been prescribed orthotics, but $500 for insoles that last 1 year is a bit steep. So I've tried every insole on the market and even had custom wooden clogs made. These slippers beat all for great comfort. I like them so much, immediately bought a pair for my dad. He hasn't taken them off since.

I am very grateful to the previous reviewers for convincing me these slippers were worth this much money for they are indeed. My house is on a cement slab base with hard tile, and I needed indoor shoes to give comfort and support on such a hard surface. I was afraid it might be a while before they felt comfortable because of the firm arch support, but to my delight they were instantly comfortable from the very first step. Frankly, I want them on all the time when I am in my house. As everyone else has mentioned, make sure to order a full size bigger than normal. I was afraid because of the clog style that I would need to be shuffling a bit to keep them on, but they seem to mold to the feet in a nice way (not binding though) and I have no trouble keeping the slippers in just the right position while walking around, doing tasks, or putting my feet up. Since putting on these slippers, my feet have totally stopped aching walking on my hard floors. Yes, they are definitely worth the money!

I saw all the remarks about great arch support and asked "Santa" for a pair. They are amazing! I haven't taken them off since Christmas. The arch support is outstanding. I have had plantar fasciitis in both feet and just can't wear anything without good support. These slippers are excellent. The other thing I like is that my feet don't sweat in the shoes. So often in a slipper similar to this, my feet sweat and are therefor cold all the time. Not so with these. No need to wear socks. The felt really works to keep feet warm and dry. I LOVE these and would recommend them to everyone. Good Santa ordered two pair -- one size 40 and one size 41. I wear between a 9 1/2 and 10 in most shoes. The 41s were the right fit. 40s were too short.

Very comfortable house shoes with an arch support. They keep my feet from being too cold but the wool breathes so they don't get overly warm either. I actually wish these slippers were a little toastier since my feet are always cold, but I guess that makes them more of a multi-seasonal slipper.

These are the most comfortable house does I have ever owned. I developed plantar fasciitis in one foot and had surgery for Hallux Rigidus in the other so over gone through a few different brands until I found these. The last pair were Birkenstocks that were too wide with bare feet and the felt upper disintegrated in a very short time. The fit for me as a 9 1/2 D was great with a 43. At first this was a little tight with bare feet and too small with socks but they have quickly stretched to fit perfectly.

This is, bar none, the most comfortable slipper I've ever worn. Like some previous reviewers, I was a bit put off by the price, but sprung for them anyway, and am very glad I did. We have wood floors and previous slippers left marks on the wood, which I had to clean off. This harder sole does not do that and the arch support is outstanding. I highly recommend you buy them. Size seems to run small. I normally wear a 44, but they didn't have that or a 45 so ordered the 46 and they fit perfectly. Buy larger than you think you need.

I started working from home in September, and it quickly became apparent that my LL Bean Wicked Good Slippers had Wicked Bad arch support. I have very high arches, and wearing flat slippers as primary footwear quickly led to a painful tendon inflammation that had me waking up in the middle of the night. In desperation, I went hunting for slippers with proper support and found these. Since I got these slippers last month, I've basically lived in them. I wear them all day, almost every day of the week. I'm wearing them as I write this review. They're outstanding. My tendon issue disappeared within days of putting them on, and I haven't looked back. I can't recommend these slippers highly enough, but know what you're getting into: these offer comfort in the European style; much like the seats in a BMW or Mercedes, comfort means firm support and proper ergonomic alignment, not the pillowy softness Americans generally associate with comfort. If you buy these expecting that, you will be sad. If you buy these expecting the cork-latex support of a Birkenstock footbed, you'll be as thrilled as I am. Bonus: the heathered color hides dirt and stains exceptionally well, which is a huge plus for home cooks. They're obviously not as warm as shearling-lined slippers, but with socks on you should be just fine through an East Coast winter. Your feet do a lot for you. Isn't it time you did something nice for them? Buy these.

These have wonderful arch support as noted in other reviews. But one drawback I'd make note of, in a word? Heavy. More of a shoe than a slipper - not cushy at all really. But they are wonderful from a support and warmth perspective!

These shoes felt like heaven as soon as my feet went inside! However the back of the shoe keeps slipping, so my feet slip out of them and this is the reason that I have to return them.

I would give 6 stars if available, these things are the best! I work from home, so often I will have to roll out of bed and get to work on my home office computer. These slippers are perfect! They keep my feet warm and very comfortable. I paid up for the high price because I read they had arch support, which I really need. We have hardwood floors, which are bad for high arches. The arch support in these slippers make them super comfortable.

Greatest house shoes ever. These fit like a soft soled Birkenstock and are great to wear around the house especially if you have a bad back and/or feet. Have plantar fasciitis? Wear these around the house and it will help. At first they felt a little small but they've conformed to my foot after the first couple days.

Great insole with excellent arch support, yet still has a nice flexible foot bed and sole so it still feels like a slipper. I ordered a size 40 because I often wear heavier socks around the house. My normal dress shoe size would be a 39 and I often go to a 40 with athletic shoes. The size 40 worked. Some have said that the slipper is wide, which is true, but the design of the insole allows your foot to grip really nicely. Plus, I found the extra width to be perfect with socks. Loved the soft gray color. Completely worth the price!

If you have high arches these are a dream to wear. I thought they might be too tight because of my high instep, but they fit beautifully. I had returned my Uggs and these are by far more comfortable. These are the best slippers ever - bar none and I have gone through a ton of slippers - mostly expensive ones. You will not be sorry with these.

I selected "no arch support" because it was horrible support. The heel and arch actually felt comfortable, but I had reservations about how the ball of the foot area seemed to dip drastically from the arch. I wore them around the house for about an hour, and by that time my feet were in pain whenever I tried to walk, and I don't have foot problems! I returned them. The wool upper was comfortable and stretched enough to wear a mid-weight sock.

UPS brought these 30 minutes ago and I'm already addicted to them! They're probably the most comfortable shoe/slipper I've ever worn. I wear an 11.5 and ordered the 12 (45) - - fits perfect and the arch support is great. Never thought I'd spend this much on a pair of slippers but I'm glad, they are well worth it! Also, the Schiefer color is really cool. Do yourself a favor and get a pair!

At first when I saw the price for the Giesswein Veitsch, I wondered "Who spends so much for a pair of slippers?!?" I am typically very frugal, but have been having severe heel pain and needed a pair of house shoes that actually support my foot. These are extremely comfortable and worth every penny! They definitely provide plenty of arch support and the tiny bit of heel also helps relieve my plantar fasciitis. I am hoping to wear them for a very long time to get my money's worth, because they also seem really well-made and durable.

Crazy comfortable! A real treat at the end of the day. These slippers feel custom-made, the fit is so right.

I got these for house shoes because I need a lot of foot support. These do have a really high and firm arch support, in fact a little too high for me. I could have taken out the orthotic like insole and put my rx orthotics in but then it's just a slipper shell with my orthotics in them and not worth the $. The great part about these is the insole. If you have a high arch I think this would be the shoe for you. I couldn't imagine these working for my poor feet, so I went with the Haflinger Grizzly instead. More moderate arch and good support.

Perfect! These are the ultimate slipper. I have hardwoods throughout my home and I do not go anywhere with out these on. They took a few weeks to break in but after that they are a real game changer.

When I first tried these on I was unsure if I liked them. The soles felt hard with maybe too much arch support. I kept them on though, as I wanted something to wear in the house and while cooking. I have flat feet and do need support desperately. After just an hour of so, I loved them. They are really comfortable. another thing I really like about them, is the foot bed is suede. I bought a pair of similar slippers last year (different brand) which I liked, but the foot bed was wool, and wore through which is why I bought these. I don't like spending a lot of money on things that don't last, but there is a much better selection of materials on this slipper.

Every human should have a pair of these issued to them at birth. They are the perfect slippers. Everyone else should just stop making slippers. You have all lost to these geniuses. I never want to not be wearing these every second that I am home. They are great in the morning and then when you get home later after you remove your shoes. My feet are meant to be in them. They are engineered fantastically. They are durably constructed. Great design, down to the thickness and proportions of the sole and insole, and even the coating on the inside of the wool at the toe, helping improve shape and durability. They are comfortable in cold and even in warmish weather, the wool is so soft and breathable. I love that they are quality natural materials. I love these things. I am sorry that I only discovered them recently.

I love these shoes! They are exactly what I've been looking for since I developed plantar fasciitis 18 months ago. I wear them around the house. They slip on and off easily, are super comfy, and my feet don't hurt at all.

The only knock I have against these shoes is the cost. Otherwise they are very warm and the arch support is much better than most house slippers. The outsole also has a little give which adds some cushion and also grip. For what it's worth, I've only worn these indoors, but if outside wasn't covered in snow, I think short trips outside would be okay.
