I love the way they look and they're comfortable in the foot but the ankle is so stiff and uncomfortable. I'm hoping they'll soften up over time but not confident. Right now I can only wear them for short periods of time.

I am happy with my boots I normally wear women's size 7 or 7 1/2 but with boots I get a women's size 8 and those fit well. The only issue I am having with these boots (not zappos fault it's a Dr. Martens issue) is that these boots are not made with a biodegradable (faux leather) plastic. There are better alternative leather materials out there and for the price of these boots I would have hopped they used that. The boots do not look like leather at all and look exactly what they are made of...plastic. (I normally prefer leather looking. I am aware some people don't like that) Besides that the boots are comfortable and stylish.

Fit and size are great. I normally wear 11 1/2, so went with a 12, but still feel great. I really love the looks of these boots.

The fit was fine, heavy and sturdy as expected from a Doc Martens. The vegan leather is quite stiff, and seems to crease easily - I was generally unhappy with the way they looked/felt - difficult to get your foot in, not soft like leather (which is a good thing, don't get me wrong, I think leather is cruel). Didn't seem like they would break in correctly, so returned. Happy they make a vegan version, these just aren't for me.

These are very comfortable and seem good quality so far. The sizing is a little off but I just wear them with thick socks. They are much less noisy than my previous vegan boots of a different brand, though they still make a little noise when I walk.

Bit of a tight fit. I am a US 6.5. The size chart told me to order UK 4. I am hoping they will stretch with time. If you're in between sizes, it may be wise to size up.

These are the same Docs I loved in my teens, but without the leather. They look and feel great! They just took a little getting used to again, after wearing other vegan shoes for so long. But I love 'em.

Zappos is the best for customer service. I don't buy a lot of shoes and in truth started buying on Zappos mainly for gifts for my wife. But then I realized I needed a pair of work boots to take with me into the desert for 7 long months. These vegan Dr. Martens were soft and comfortable but I misjudged the size I needed (I told you I don't buy a lot of shoes for myself). That's where Zappos came in. They allowed me to return them free of charge for the correct size. Great. Done. But not quite. I then left for Africa and the shoes fell apart in the sand in 3 weeks. I couldn't return them because of where I was. I return home and Zappos takes them back easy as can be and replaces them. Hopefully it was only the sand that caused the others to fall apart and these ones will last. I'll see!

I loved these boots and have been wanting to buy them for years. They are way too heavy for me and it was difficult to walk in them . I had to return them

The quality on this vegan shoe was very poor. The material is sooooo thin, and very clearly “plastic”. It is not up to par with the quality of their non-vegan products. The Antietam itself is a not only thin, but easily scratched and I could see the toe box getting messed up very quickly. Overpriced product with less-than standard materials. Would not recommend if you are looking for a long-term purchase.

It will take a long time to break these in. Got massive blisters and toe pain because I’m probably not used to them. If I Dubbin them, tape them, wear bandages and thick socks and wear them a lot I’ll be fine.

I have never had so much foot pain in my entire life, and I work in an office and have been through quite a few pair of uncomfortable dress shoes!!! I'm a US 10.5, and followed the recommendation to go down to the next full size, so I bought a 10, which doesn't feel tight putting them on, but after an hour, I want to take them off. They are gorgeous dark cherry red, with highlights at toe & heel, look awesome with oxblood ribbon laces, and I want to love them ssooo bad. I'm really hoping they wear in and become as comfortable as their reputation implies. Till then, I would never recommend Dr. Martens to anyone who wears a half-size!

I was really excited about these because they're vegan, red and look good. Unfortunately, they were too small. I wear a 14 and these were more like a 13 or 13.5. As much as I wanted them to fit correctly, they just don't and I'm really sad about it. It sucks for me, because "14" is the largest size they make, so I can't get anything bigger in hopes that they'd fit properly, so I had to return them.

Beautiful boot and colour. Zero arch support and the insole does not come out so you can add your own support.

Like other reviews say, this feels much larger than 1/2 a size bigger. Nonetheless, I had planned on wearing thicker socks with this so it works for me. The color is great and you can't tell it's not leather. The major thing that worries me is that they creased so heavily after just a few minutes that I wonder if the material will crack sooner than later. The soles squeak pretty loudly, too, more than other pairs I've had (even though the soles are same). Hopefully it chills out with time or you'll be able to hear me coming and going!

Nice boots. The outside material is pretty durable, but the insoles are terrible. They'll break down in a few weeks with everyday wear. Be prepared to shell out another $20+ for good insoles.

I love the look of these classics, and was hoping the vegan leather would be softer and more pliable. They are so stiff that after trying just one on, I knew that I wouldn't be able to bear the breaking in period.

I have wanted Dr. Martens for a while and was super excited when the vegan styles came out. I ordered this boot twice, and both times they came defective. Where the tongue is sewn at the base there is a hard piece of the vegan leather that wasn't sewn down and digs into your foot. Waiting for a new shipment and will hope they resolve this issue.

I both these because I live in an area that gets alot of snow and the salt stains on my leather drove me crazy. For that these boots are great. The fit and feel is like wearing a plastic bag from the produce section of the grocery store. I can't believe that Doc Martin put their name on such a lame product.

I originally ordered a pair that was much too big. Zappos was great about exchanging them for the next smaller size, but unfortunately Doc Martens don't come in half sizes so I ended up with boots that are slightly too small... and also slightly too wide, so they are not quite comfortable. I like the boots' style and color but the vegan leather looks a bit cheap and artificial. Overall a disappointing purchase.

I removed the small insole and put in a gel insole when I got them so I didn't send them back. They rubbed he skin off the heel in two hours so I have started using band aids on the heel hoping to break them in. Poor fitting boot compared to any other shoes I have purchased. I wear them for short periods at a time. For something with such a reputation, I don't see the quality in this boot. Apparently,others find them suitable.

The problem was the interior of the boot has a partial lining, and where the lining stops, where it fits at the top of the foot, creates a very uncomfortable ridge.
