I love these boots! They are so cool, comfortable, and can be worn with a million different outfits. I wear a 7.5 in most normal shoes and sneakers but the 7.5 in these were way too tight. Other reviewers have said that the boots break in after a few hours but mine were just painfully uncomfortable. I exchanged them for an 8 and they fit like a glove! I have worn these a few times already this summer and can't wait to wear them all winter long. Truly an awesome boot!

Beautifully made boot! No breaking in period. Soft quality leather inside and out. recommend to go up 1/2 size. I first ordered my reg. size, 7 1/2, and fit was a little snug for my liking. Ordered an 8 and they were perfect. A timeless boot that will last and last and only look better with wearing.

Love these boots! I am always a size 9 in other brands, but go down half a size in Frye boots. These were no exception. I got the stone antique dark brown boots and the 8.5 fits well. They are of course stiff and a bit snug but I know they will stretch (and already have after a few hours of wear). The best part of these boots is that they do not make my feet look big, but are still edgy. The opening around the ankle is the perfect size. I have fairly skinny ankles and these leave enough room to be cute but not enough to look bulky. The stone antique look is amazing. The dark brown has reddish undertones in person and almost leaves them looking brown with a bit of a dark purple tint. They look much better in person than online in my opinion. The fit is great. The only downfall is that they are a bit heavy but but that just tells me the quality is great. I wanted a Frye boot with a harness but other styles looked huge and bulky on my thinner legs. These are the perfect option for me. For reference, I am 5'6.5"isn and 130 pounds with fairly thin calves and ankles. Definitely worth the money!

Amazing boot. I have a wide foot. Usually a 9.5 but it was far too small and narrow. Ordered a 10 and they are perfect. So super soft they fit like a glove, with room for socks. So comfortable, I wear them every day. Really really cute, got the burnt red and get compliments every time I wear them. The red is not bright, it is darker than I thought it would be. They go really well with jeans, skirts, slacks.

This boot looks great and is really comfortable. It can be dressed up or down.

Very swank boot. The day after these were new to me, my hunk left a note on the fridge: you look badass in your new boots! What more do you need to know? Fairly comfortable, I will prob buy insoles for extra comfort on days I choose to work for 10 hours running around in these. Worth it. Get on your bikes and ride!

I love, love, love these boots! I initially got them in the antique brown and loved them so much, just had to have them in black. The boots look worn in, without looking too manufactured to look that way. I took other's advice and ordered a 1/2 size UP. They were alittle tight in the toe bed, but loosened up with wear. And yes, the zipper is alittle difficult at first, but it seems to be 'breaking in' nicely. I would highly recommend these boots.

I absolutely love the look of these boots! But, they are too small and a little narrow. I will give it one more shot with a half size bigger - fingers crossed...

I love the different harness style boots from Frye and find them super comfortable-- even for someone like me with bony feet. I have a 2 1/2" heel 12"R Harness that I bought 5 years ago and it has worn incredibly well and was always comfortable, in a beautiful tan color. So I bought the Phillip Harness (short) in Burnt Red/Vintage because I wanted something in a reddish-brown with a flat heel that would be my go-to for winter. The boot felt great and everyone thought it looked great. But it was MUCH more red than I imagined it would be. I was hoping for a Blazer Brown shine look like a smooth burnished saddle. But there was no brown to speak of in this boot. Hemming and hawing, I went ahead and ordered the Phillip Harness (short) in Brown/Vintage to compare colors and help my decision-making. Well, the Brown pair arrived today and it's particularly ugly. It was the color of my Birkenstocks--plain jane brown. That being said, the Burnt Red/VIntage color now looks amazing in comparison, so I'll be keeping those and returning the Brown pair. Frye makes a great pair of boots for sure and you will hold onto them for years. Thanks Zappos for your super quick service and easy-peasy return policy. You're the best!

These are gorgeous boots. I bought them to wear with jeans and they look fantastic, much cuter than the photos even. Unfortunately there's not enough toe room for me, so they weren't comfortable. I had the same experience with the zippers as other reviewers -- very stiff, difficult to zip up and down. Because of the boots' beauty, I would have been more than willing to work with the zipper had the boots been comfortable, but I had to send them back.

Color is different than pictured. I chose the grey vintage, because it looks light brown, but its more like a taupe. The darkened toe looked unnatural. The fit was excellent. Its moderately wider than a medium. I wear Wide width and the medium was comfortable, however I'd need to stick with thin socks. I believe they would loosen up with wearing but I returned them to get a different color.

Note sure why this says grey. The picture does not look grey, more like a light brown and the pair I received are a dark chocolate brown with a very slight mahogany hue. I really like the color that actually arrived, so as long as they fit, I'm going to keep them. I have them in black from last year and it looks like they are phasing out this style, so I grabbed another color. They have toe room without looking super chunky and are extremely comfortable. I wore them all over NYC and all winter in ATL and they were great. Highly recommend. If you're in between sizes, go up.

These are amazing! They were the second pair of low black Frye boots I ordered from zappos (returned the first, with a side zip, there was no give when putting them on), but these fit really well right out of the box. I always have better luck with Frye boots that zip in the back, and they seem to wear more comfortably (personal opinion). Great find.

Everything about this boot is great, but I ordered the cognac soft vintage and what I got is the cognac color. not the aged look of the vintage. I will reorder because the boots are great looking and classic Frye quality and comfort.

Amazing Boot! I purchased the tall version of this boot last December...and it was love at first wear! I had tried the short boot, in this brand, but, different style...and was disappointed, that were not as comfy, as my first pair of Frye boots. I decided to try my tall Phillip Harness, in the shorter style...and as luck would have it, it fit like a dream just like the taller version. True to size...zipper no issues...Perfect for spring, summer with my dresses, and then into fall with tights, jeans. Love the rick color, and the comfort of this boot. So pleased to have this style in two choices, to complete my wardrobe. Zappos you rock!

I have these boots in brown and black - they are so comfortable, I am between a 7.5 and 8 and I always go 8 in boots. Love the zipper in the back.

This is my fourth pair of Frye and they are perfect... feels that you're walking on air! They are the best!

I wanted some harness boots and need the back zipper due to my high arch and instep. These are great boots but a little dressier than I was looking for, I wanted something a little more chunky. The zipper is a little stiff at first but after a few wears it is not bad. The toe box is not roomy, if you have wide feet these might not be for you, the toe area is also kind of flat top to bottom. These fit me fine but my feet are a little narrrow. I wish more Frye styles came with a zipper, they make great quality boots.

These boots are lovely and fit like a glove from the moment I put them on. The zipper was a bit stiff at first, but I rubbed some beeswax on them and smoothed it right out. They're pricey, but I'll probably wear them at least 5 days a week, so cost per wear is low. My only concern is that the leather sole is kind of slick, even after lots of wear.

These are stylish shoes to wear with tapered pants - the inner sides had to be worn in a bit as they were stiff when I first wore them and I got a blister, but now they are much better.

First, thanks to all the quality reviews that I read before I bought these boots! I bought two pairs because I just could not decide which ones I would like. I am usually a size 9 to 9½, but after reading reviews I ordered 9 in the dark brown antiqued and the cognac vintage. I concur that the antiqued style does run small - they did not fit but the cognac fit well, somewhat snug. I am going to give the boots time to stretch out, which I am told will happen. These boots are amazing quality - well worth the money.

Thank you, Frye, for the price drop in these boots! I bought a black pair a couple of months ago and when I noticed last week that the price had dropped, I jumped on the chance to buy a pair in the whiskey color and they are just beautiful! The pictures do NOT do them justice! When I received my first pair, I almost sent them back because they were a bit snug. But I wore them a few times around the house, wore them out a couple of times and suddenly they are the most comfortable shoes I have! If I could change one thing it would be to give the soles more traction - they are especially slick on the bottom when they are new - but that does improve with more wear. I live in the Pacific NW so am very conscious of traction! Since the price dropped a lot, I hope to get another color or two eventually.

Glorious color and comfort. They are perfect. They fit like slippers. I do not want to take them off. The style is gorgeous. I cannot wait to wear them with tights and leggings.

This is a beautiful boot. Unlike other people, I did not have an issue with the sipper. I generally wear a size 9 1/2 to 10. Ordered this in a 10, but I found that my heal was slipping. Returned the boot and reordering the boot in a 9 1/2 in the whiskey this time.

I fell in love with these boots when I opened the box. It did take two tries to get the correct size. I usually have to order a size down in boots, but not with these Frye boots. The sole was initially very slippery like some of the other reviewers mentioned, but that was not a problem after I wore the boots outside. The boots did not really need a break-in period, but they are getting softer each time I wear them. I do not really like to tuck my pants into boots - I like the fact that these are slim enough to look good with boot cut and regular pants. The zipper was a little difficult at first - I think it is getting better with each use.
