I fell in love with these boots. They are beautiful! Great quality! Great color (red=brick red)! Sadly it was a relationship that was not meant to be. I wear a true size 11, which is what I ordered. I do have a very high arch -- which makes it quite difficult to get my foot in the shoe. Once the foot was in -- the shaft of the boot is too narrow for my wide ankle -- so the zipper was never going to close. Though the foot bed was very comfortable. They will need to be sent back. I am heart broken.

As I took my boots out of the box I thought, "These boots are fabulous looking! The leather is a great quality and I love the height of the heel." Then I tried to put them on and my happiness turned to disappointment. You can't slip these boots on without unzipping them, and that's no easy feat. The zipper kind of sticks and is a challenge to operate. Once I unzipped the boot and slid my foot in with great effort, the fit was very tight. I have average width feet, and I'm a solid 9. I even had a friend who is also a size 9 to try them on and she had the same difficulties, and her feet are a little more narrow than mine. I would caution ... these are very narrow boots made for very narrow feet. I will return them.

Great boot but exchanging them for another Frye style which felt more true to size. This fit a little larger which surpised me.

With this, I thought I had found my boot nirvana. Stylish, a bit of attitude, with a low heel so I can walk comfortably in them. Look great with skinnies tucked in, sits nicely under black slacks at work, lightweight for the fall and doesn't feel like I'm wearing ankle weights. I've only owned them for four days and I have worn them every day. Why 2 stars? At the end of day four, the stitching in the back that holds the zipper in place began coming undone, pretty soon half of one boot in the back was unstitched. When I let Zappos know of the problem, the rep recommended that I try a brand other than Frye. They're gorgeous, but have serious quality control issues. For the price they need to do much better.

Seems like the zipper issue is a known problem with these Frye boots. Bought them for my wife. Beautiful boot, great leather...can't zip them up. She was able to get her foot in no problem but I had to struggle to get them zipped. Once I got it zipped it felt great but she didn't want a boot that she couldn't get in herself. She stopped me at the point where I started to head to the garage for a pair of pliers. Reading more of these reviews and other Frye boots like it, the zipper issue is a recurring complaint. Returning them for a non-zippered boot.

I have six pairs of Frye boots, all size 9 and these I could not get my foot into. I have two pairs of this exact style in the tall boots and I love them, so strange that the short runs so different. I am sending them back.

I loved the boots and easily slipped them on as soon as I got them out of the box. Zipping them up however, was an impossibility. The left zipper went up after a fair amount of tugging, however the right couldn't take the strain and broke almost immeadialy. I am very disappointed in the zipper construction and will be sending them back for a refund.

Zappos customer service is awesome as always. Frye, however, is not the legendary boot maker they once were. These boots had zippers that did not work, and the overall craftsmanship was poor with trace glue stains, etc. Second faulty pair of Frye boots I have received this year! Last time I ordered the harness boot and it showed up with mis-matched color leather! Boo. Sad face.
