From the time I got them and tried it on I can tell that this boot was built to do what they say it was built for - comfortable, good shock, quality of the boot really good. The only thing I am a little worried about is the lacing on the boot. I don't know if it will hold up after a period of time but looks durable. So buy it, there are no regrets. The rating I am giving it should speak for itself.

Got these for my husband wrong size but we are very impressed with the quality and comfort of the shoes and we look forward to getting the right size!

Very comfortable, especially for a Gore-Tex shoe. I've had other Gore-Tex trail running shoes, and these are the most durable. Great shoe.

Salomon are my go to shoes. I have had 2 foot surgeries and these are very comfortable. They are also warm and weatherproof for the fall/winter.

Love this shoe! Perfect for around town, the backyard and the trail. I don't really use them for trail running, more so light hiking and everything in between. You wont be disappointed!

These shoes are awesome. Great arch support, good cushioning and great fit. Like some other reviewers, I had some initial problems with the shoes rubbing the back of my heels but after a few uses this is no longer an issue. I would highly recommend these shoes.

Great fit, very comfortable, I lost a similar pair in a house fire, and ordered these to replace them. I am happy to say they are better than the original pair I bought a couple of years ago, better support and comfort.

This is a true all-purpose shoe. I live in Miami so it's is regularly pulling duty in and around the beaches and the Everglades. In the winter I take them with me to the mountains in Colorado where they are equally suitable despite the wet and cold environment. The best feature of this shoe is that you get the protection from the elements without compromising comfort, agility or traction as might happen with clunkier shoes. I highly recommend.

Great quality, solid construction for sure. The arch is pretty high on these shoes, I would consider my arch average and there's a little more pressure on mine than I'd like but nothing I can't live with. I seem to remember the last pair of Salomon's I had years ago were the same way. I think these will stand up well to snow/slush.

Great shoes! I purchased these to replace my pair that were not Gore Tex. My old ones were still in pretty good shape, I was just ready for a new pair. I opted for the Gore-Tex model this time because fall is closing in on us fast. I am really glad that I did. The material on these seems much more rugged then on the the non Gore Tex version. The non Gore-Tex are great for summer (light and breathable), but these are going to be perfect for cool, damp fall morning hikes or trips to the soccer field. I like the fact that they feel very rugged for this style shoe. I have a prety wide foot in one particular area, but I usually do not need wide shoes becuase over time, my shoes will just give a little and just streach out a bit in that area. This was the case with my old non Gore-Tex version, but not so much with this version due to the fact that it is so tough, so keep that in mind if you have weird feet. Overall, I love these, especially for this time of year. They look better with shorts then the brown leather style, but keep you just as protected, if not more so. I give them an A+, and of course, it goes without saying, that Zappos never fails to impress me. Zappos is the true model of what online retail should be.

These were my fourth pair of the XA Pro 3D. I found the same quality and materials but a much narrower fit than my past shoes. Maybe time to look at Merrell waterproofs.

All I have to say is these are the best fitting shoes for my feet that I have ever owned. I was very happy that I broke the bank getting them! If I could afford it, I would buy a second pair to stash for the future.

Love this brand and actually have two pairs of these already that I loved so much I wore them till they were almost shredded. These seem like they need a break in period that has not been needed with past shoes. They also seem very tight in the toe box. Hopefully they will break in.

I walked a couple of miles the first day out of the box. The next day I hiked to the top Mt. Lassen and then the Bumpass Hell trail inside Lassen park. I've always liked Solomon shoes and these were no different. Perfect fit, and a very comfortable shoe. I would highly recommend these shoes. I have another pair on the way.

Love this shoe - a total workhorse in all seasons. I've had three pairs in various incarnations, all perfectly dry and warm in mud, rain, even sports. They do run truly a half-size small, so plan accordingly.

Looking for a solid all purpose walking/hiking shoe I bought my firt pair of Salomons two years ago. I took them on our school's Senior trip to Orlando and after a week of all day and night walking and activities with the kids and other staff, I was always the one with feet that felt great at the end of the day. This pair was to give me a change off and a waterproof option. They are very supportive, and didn't need more than a couple of light walks to break in. They're supportive yet light. Love them.

I'm amazed at this shoe. I usually wear a size 12US and opted for a 12.5 and D width. It is very comfortable and roomy. The shoe has a lot of support and is rugged. I am working at a mining site and these shoes are the perfect shoe for this terrain. The lacing system is easy and the look is outstanding. From seeing other posts I decided to size 1/2 larger and increase the width and felt true to size from what I bought.

Best shoe ever. This is my second pair in the past 3 years. They are bullet proof and can hold up to the elements and anything you throw at them. I do alot of running on the treadmill, running outside, hiking, rock climbing etc with these shoes and they perform great in every situation. They are also my everyday going out shoes. Highly recommend these, get them!

Wow! I have been looking for a sport shoe that gives good protection and is able to stand the rigorous environment of a rocky mining site. I cannot say enough about these shoes. From the reviews I bought the shoe 1/2 size bigger and wide. The fit was right on. The lacing is easy which allows for quick removal for entering areas where shoes are not allowed.

Wow! Maybe the coolest pair of shoes I have ever owned. I bought these for work and was a little concerned about the lettering being too bright (my work requires an all black shoe, yay corporate America!) but the letter was a lot darker (pewter) than shown in the product picture so it worked out great. Plus the little V shaped lines on the side are made of reflective material (some on the back as well) which I thought was a nice touch for what I was using them for because I work at night on many occasions. But the shoe is awesome, really breathable for a waterproof shoe and I got to test out the waterproof part multiple times (intentionally stepping in puddles) and never did my foot get wet. You can tell the shoe is well made and built to last. Really comfortable with high quality slip in cushions, very tough looking and the pull style laces are just to cool. Overall I love them, didn't expect them to be as good as they were and very glad I bought them from Zappos.com, free overnight shipping in my case, wow. Anyway I plan on buying at least 2 more pairs because they are that good.

My first pair developed a squeak which seems to happen sometimes. After a swap they're currently squeak-free. The waterproofing is very good, and the shoe is comfortable. I really like the laces which never need much fiddling.

These are great shoes. I spend a lot of time on my feet as a high risk instructor. The only issue that I have is that the soles are not built to last. I have worn through the soles in only one summer. That is unfortunate. I would probably get another two years out of these shoes because they are so well made. Unfortunately, I had to look for another well made shoe manufacture who actually uses Vibram soles. After all, the shoes are only going to last as long as the sole.

I'm a mailman who walks 8+ miles per day and after five months of wear and tear, my XA Pro Ultras are just about ready to be retired. They're a great shoe but from my experience the sole that Salomon uses wears out faster than the vibram. Like I said, the shoe is amazing and well worth the cost, but for my job, I need a couple more months out of my soles. Buy this shoe!
