I have loved these shoes. They feel amazing to run in. It does take a while to build up the muscle strength of your feet and lower legs as these shoes allow you to develop muscles other shoes do not.

My new favorite kind of sneaker! I love the color combination. They fit perfectly and make my feet look smaller.

I really want to love these shoes, but they don't love me. I received these about a week and a half ago. For breaking in period I wore them for a short walk. My feet blistered badly. I didn't wear them again for a few days in hopes things would heal. Unfortunately, the material on these shoes is not very soft or flexible. Once it creases, it will rub painfully. Since most people will wear these without socks because of the nature of the design, this is unacceptable. I limped through five miles today; I finally had enough. Note that I bought them for longer distance running or walking; other barefoot shoes have well served me for this purpose. This is my third (well, not anymore) pair of barefoot shoes and I have never had this problem. On the plus side: the shoes are lightweight and well made. If not for the chafing, they would be fantastic. They truly do fit like a glove and are very comfortable and supportive. The colors are also awesome. Finally, kudos to Zappos for being willing to exchange these for me for another pair. This is why I do business with this company.

These shoes are cuter than they look in the photo. They will go with lots of things. Unfortunately, I am returning them because they are very roomy in the front - too much so for my 11, low volume feet - even though I am wider in the front from teaching skiing 18 years. I settled on the Merrell Barefoot Dash model as it is narrower than any of the others I can find. This one is a true 11 in length and the Dash on barely makes it on the 11, but I like it because of the width. Try these, you will really like them if you have a slightly wider forefoot! I say they have no arch support as they are supposed to be Barefoot shoes, which do not have arches per se.

I love these shoes, very comfortable. I run on trails and through wet grass my feet always stay dry. I ordered a 1/2 size bigger because I have wide feet.

I LOVE these shoes! THE most comfortable shoe I've ever put on my feet! Also, the color I choose will go with everything I wear!

Yay for Zappos! Uay for Merrell! These arrived so fast! I love them, they feel great! I wear an 8½ in every Merrell shoe that I have ever bought (five pairs) so if you are on the fence about a size, just go with your normal Merrell size. I wore them to work all day and then for my work out and left them on to walk the dogs the first day and I had no break-in issues. I hope they make leather tall boots with this sole for the cold winter.

Just bought these shoes. I usually wear Asics Gel Nimbus to run in because I am a bigger runner (5'11"/185 lbs), but I have wanted to try the "barefoot" running. I love my old Merrells, so I opted for these. I'm pleased. I ran in them last night (maybe 2 road miles) and they were pretty comfy even without socks. I did get a blister on my big toe, but no big deal. I tried these on at the store and tried my normal size 10 and a 9.5. I bought the 9.5 because the 10 felt way too large in the toe area and I didn't want to have a lot of movement. I do recommend these shoes. Even for big girls like myself. I think they are pretty fabulous and quite stylish!

This was my first barefooter and will not be my last! They take a great deal to get used to for activity. They fit and feel like a glove and allow you to feel the ground beneath you. I have used them for both running and hiking the rocky terrain of the Northeast (Maine included). They are almost as sticky as a climbing shoe and allows you to really utilize your toes.

I bought these shoes for my daughter. They are even more beautiful in person than on the page, and remind me of sunsets and orange sherbet with streaks of raspberry and lime. My daughter is very happy. However, finding the right size took a few tries. She usually wears a 9/9.5, but the 9 was huge. The 8.5 was better, but still too large. It wasn't until size 8 that we started channeling Cinderella. Perfect! I would be coveting these shoes myself if not for the fact that I prefer more padding. But if you're looking for barefoot, this could be your dream shoe.

I'm having to send the shoe back because it was huge! At least a 1/2 size too big. I'm not sure what the other reviewers were talking about, but these were so long. And unfortunately the next size smaller is not available. I was really looking forward to wearing these shoes, because they are super cute! Since this is my first pair of "barefoot" shoes, I can't comment on the feel of the shoe, but I'm not buying them specifically for the complete barefoot aspect...they would work well for what I need. I hope my size comes back in stock soon!

I do love my colorful Merrell Barefoot Lithe Gloves. They attract attention. I'm still adjusting to the newness of this style. There is plenty of room in the toe area. Carefully adjusting the laces makes a different in the fit of this shoe. They are definately fun.

Very comfortable shoes. it takes a few times running in them to get used to them, but takes no time to get used to for walking. No socks necessary, either! I have regular to narrow feet, size 8.5, and low arches. They are very comfortable for the gym and standing.

This is an interesting version of a barefoot shoe - wanted to purchase a pair that would get me thru the winter in a little more comfort than the usual barefoot shoe that is basically made of mesh. It's very easy to tell when the size isn't right - ordered my usual 7.5 and because there is a support system that cups the middle of the foot, in any size that isn't true for you, this will feel waaay off. Ordered a pair of Merrell's Barefoot Pace Glove at the same time, 7.5 is perfect, and I just love them (wore a pair of New Balance's original barefoot shoes for the last year, starting to get hot spots now so I was back in the market.) Probably sending these back and keeping the Pace Gloves.

I bought these after falling in love with the Pace Glove. This is a really nice barefoot shoe in general, although I do prefer the Pace Glove. I think the sole on the Pace Glove is a little more flexible and the upper grips my heel and conforms to my foot better. However, the Lithe Glove has the advantage of being water resistant and a little thicker/more protective. They're also warmer, which I find good for casual wear, but not as good for the gym (they're less breathable). I think these would be better for trail running, although I don't use them for that purpose - I wear them to work (in an operating room) and casual walking. In reference to the reviewers who didn't like the tongue, I actually find the tongue very cushiony and comfortable, and one of the best parts of the shoe, so your mileage may vary.

I bought these because I own the pure gloves and wear the heck out of them. Love these as well. Maybe a teeny bit more narrow, but super comfy, true to size and very cool looking to boot! Helps to take out the cardboard hiding out in the toe! (Had a momentary panic when I tried them with it.) All in all, a great barefoot shoe! I am 58, wide-ish feet, and these make me happy!

I really wanted to like these shoes. I ordered them sort of on a whim, because I couldn't decide which of the Merrell Barefoot styles I wanted to try, so I picked these because they had a color combo I really loved. After ordering, I went to an R.E.I. and was able to actually try on all of the Merrell Barefoot styles, and realized they all felt quite different and this one was definitely not my favorite. The pair I got in the mail confirmed this feeling. They are indeed very stiff all around, and the upper material did the thick toe-crinkle thing that others have commented on. There was pretty much no breathability, which I understand might help in colder/wetter environments, but might become suffocatingly hot on an average day (for me, anyways...my foot got toasty just walking around my house). It seems like these would need some serious breaking-in...I prefer something that feels effortless right out of the box. I've decided the 'Dash Glove' is a better choice for me based on my complaints with this style.

I ordered these in cosmo pink and as far as style goes, they are a home run. But after a month and 24 miles logged on them, I've given up. They were great at mile 1 on my first run, but by mile 3 the seam across the top had rubbed blisters on the tops of 3 toes. I laced them differently on the next run, but then the seams in the tongue rubbed the tops of my feet. Yesterday I took my last run (4 miles) in these and ended up cursing myself for trying. I'm done with them (which is really too bad because they are so cute).

I wasn't sure what to expect, because I never usually wear bright-colored shoes. Out of the box, these were beautiful! I ordered a size 10 M, which is what I wear in every Merrell shoe I've ever owned - and almost all my shoes for the past 5 years have been Merrells...but I couldn't get my feet into these. They must run very small. I was so disappointed, because they were beautiful! My friend saw them (she wears a size 9.5 narrow), tried them, and they fit her perfectly, so she bought them from me.

Ouch! This shoe is a great idea, but wow, painful. The heel is way too high. I tried a few times to break them in, but they just left my feet a bloody, mutilated mess. If the concept is a barefoot shoe, why over-construct the heel?? Such a shame. Zappos was GREAT, however, about working with me on an exchange.

These were so stiff. I can't imagine how you would run in them. I ended up getting the dash glove after wearing Nike free for 7 years. I have been wearing vibram "toe shoes" for the last year so I'm coming from a very barefoot experience. The look and quality are nice as you'd expect from merrell but the feel and fit we're not for me.

Disappointing! I REALLY wanted to like these. Love the color, but wow, were they uncomfortable! I never, ever have trouble with shoes fitting, but these were awful! Too long in the toe, and the backs rubbed my ankles raw after walking halfway around the block the first (and only) time I wore them. I've worn Merrells many times before, and they've never fit like this before. And yes, I took out all the cardboard.

When I found these shoes, I was thrilled to finally find a tennis shoe that was both different in style and vibrant in color! I purchased them without hesitation! I was eager to wear them and, when I finally did, I was greeted with several compliments and inquiries from passersby. One problem, however, my feet were killing me! With every step, the pain grew. My instep was in excruciating pain, my heel hurt from friction, the tongue of the shoe was out of control, and the toe area of the shoe wrinkled and turned upward. When I reached my car, I could hardly wait to kick those shoes off with the absolute intention of returning those extremely uncomfortable, over-priced shoes immediately! Side Note: I would not have selected a single solitary star in the comfort category but was forced to make a selection to complete this review.
