Love these boots! Calves are 16 1/2 inches and thy fit great! I have looked for boots that fit calves for a while, and now that I have these, I wear them every weekend!

Absolutely love these boots! I have a small foot and comparatively wide calf, so it's hard to find boots with shafts that are wide enough. These are perfect. I usually wear a size 7, but bought a size 6.5. Yes, they are snug, but as they get broken into, they are fitting perfectly. And yes, ladies, be prepared to break these boots in! Put them on, walk around a bit, and locate the places that rub. Then take them off, put nicely padded band-aids over the spots, and walk the heck out of them! I had to do this the first 3 times wearing them out, but you'll be so happy you did. I love them, well worth the hassle.

Bought these today and am in love with them! I am literally sitting on my couch in my jammies with my new boots on! They smell so wonderful, like a new car with inside/out leather. I feel like a million bucks in these. They did fit as soon as I put them on but I figured chilling with some thick socks on just to stretch them out a bit won't hurt because I haven't tried them on yet with jeans but tights fit great. Very happy customer and I never spend this much on boots but I hope to keep these forever! In two years I'll budget for the black pair. The style is timeless and I think will always be "In!" I am 5 foot 3 with thicker more muscular legs so most of the boots I tried on so far wouldn't pull up over my calves without a zipper of some sort - these fit like a glove.

This is my second Frye Veronica Slouch wide calf boots that I have ordered. The first pair (dark brown wide calf), had enough calf room to easily slide my legs in while wearing leggings. This pair, while wearing knee high thin socks, I had to tug to get up my calves. Big difference between calf circumference between the two colors and I ordered both in a size 6. This pair was also very roomy lengthwise and widthwise foot area that I could have gone down to a size 5.5. I am so happy that Zappos has free shipping both ways as I am returning this pair.

The most comfortable pair of boots I own! I actually have the brown and black. I had a problem with the top buckle on my black pair after wearing them a few times the strap broke. But Zappos returned them for me and sent a new pair. The very next day! Didn't even have to wait for my others to be back! (I'm a VIP member.) I have muscular calves 15.5-16 in and these fit fine with room to spare even with jeans tucked in. There wasn't a break in period. I was able to walk in them for hours the first time I put them on. True to size.

I love these boots. I was super excited to find a pair of boots wide enough for my calves that were not too dressy and didn't look like something for a much older person. These look perfect. I am 5'4" and have a 16-16.5 inch calf, which apparently is huge for someone of my size 7.5/8 foot. Ordered these in an 8. At first I thought they were too long in the foot. However, after wearing them for a day, I am glad I got the larger size; they are somewhat tight in the toes (I have slightly wide feet). I am hoping the toe area will loosen up a bit over time. Other than that they are quite comfortable in the foot. I wore them with thick socks to prevent heel blisters. As for the calf part - they are the perfect fit! There is no need to try to "tuck" my pants in; these boots slide right over my pants. Don't even have to use skinny jeans. Pretty excited about them! Also, these boots are perfect for those of us on the short side; they come above mid thigh on me and hit at exactly the right place; truly tall (knee high) boots look silly on my short stature. Order these boots! They rock!

Love these boots! I have been having a difficult time finding good quality boots where the shaft was large enough for my calves. These are great quality and comfortable.

Finally boots that fit and look good! Thank you Frye for making extended calf sizes, please make more! I have a 16.5in calf with jeans, slightly wide feet, wear between 8.5-9 and I'm 5'6 with about a 31" inseam. I ordered the 8.5 in these after ordering the Paige boots in a 9 and finding them too big for me (but I actually did get them to fit around my legs too which was a miracle!). The initial overall fit for me was just a little tight everywhere but not uncomfortable...I knew they were going to stretch too. They hit about 3in below my knee which I was debating whether I liked or not because they kind of hit at a weird spot on my leg. I decided I didn't care since I actually got boots to fit me and I wore them today for the first time. In the few hours wearing them, everything seems to have already loosened up and they fit great. It was a little hard to get my foot in because of the pull-on styling but I wore them with thin nylon dress socks and it made them pretty easy to put on. My feet even stayed warm despite the thin socks and I usually have cold feet (and it's 8 degrees here today!). I wasn't sure I would like this style of boot either because it looked a little more rugged than what I was looking for and I was worried about the "slouch" styling. However, after trying many other riding-style boots, I realized the features in this boot is exactly what I was looking for. Because it is supposed to slouch slightly and its not such a stiff leather like the Paige, they didn't look weird around my ankles but they also didn't completely look sloppy around my ankles either. Also, the lug sole is great, I wore them out in the snow and ice and didn't worry about slipping. And despite their rugged look, I think they are going to be very versatile. I'm just so happy the search for boots is over, I'll probably buy the black pair next! And thanks Zappos for your super customer-friendly shipping and return policies!

Great boots! They work great or my 16.5 calves. They aren't as tall as I wished, but still look awesome.

AH! FINALLY. I won't bore you with the long story, but let's just say I lucked out in getting this pair of boots. I LOVE them. I ABSOLUTELY love them. (Did I mention I love them?) I have large calves (I'm 5' 1" ~127 lbs) and was green with envy looking at all my friends in cute knee highs, while my legs looked like stuffed sausages, without socks/leggings....let alone JEANS. I DID have to take them to our local cobbler and have him put an extra hole to make them a hair smaller when I'm wearing leggings. I LOVE THEM and wear them ALL THE TIME.

I'm in love. I have a muscular calf, 16 inches or so, and these boots slid right on and fit like a glove. Where have they been all of my life? Well worth the investment.

I love this boot! It is stylish and most importantly comfortable. I have the Frye Veronica Slouch as well, and while that boot looks great it is not comfortable at all. This boot is great, plus the extra calf room is just what my legs needed!

This is the second pair of Frye boots I bought this year. I love them and can wear them with my skinny jeans. They are super comfortable and I wore them right out of the box - no breaking in required.

I love my new boots! They fit great, they look great, and they smell heavenly. I usually wear an 8 but ordered up a half size and I am so glad I did. The only niggling little complaint I have is that they could be an inch or two taller.

Love! I was "blessed" with 15.5/16.0" calves...and these fit perfectly with room to spare! I'm 5'3 and about 145 lbs. on a good day. Some have said that they are not tall enough but if your petite they are the perfect size boot. I can wear them with skinny jeans or leggings. The foot bed is a little snug but I've only worn them once so I'm sure they will stretch out. I normally wear a 7.5 or 8 and sized down purchasing the size 7, which are perfect. What I love most about these boots is that they look like a normal boot not like other "wide calf" boots with the added elastic. I bought them in black and feel like I need to get the brown ones. Frye Boots are an "investment" type boot and these are my 4th pair. My first pair is just over 15 years old and I have re-soled them 3 times. If you take care of them, they really will last forever.

I am so disappointed with these boots. I have coveted these for two years and finally saw them in my size and in the wide calf version and ordered them for a birthday gift. They arrived quickly and were beautiful when I opened the box. I slid my feet into them and had no problem getting the boots on. The calf fit perfectly. But it was almost 2" shorter than my knee. I have no idea how these are advertised as knee high boots as I have a 28" inseam and wear a 10½/11. I have the shortest legs ever and this is the largest size they make. How can they not hit my knees? Sadly sent them back a week later. I loved them so much that I crazily contemplated having additional leather added at the top to make them knee high! It seemed stupid to spend the perfect boot budget on almost perfect boots.

Gorgeous, voluptuous-calved women, REJOICE! This is your boot, my little darlings. Veronica is a slouchier style, but she's very roomy: I'm 5'11" and my calves are about 17.25" around at their largest point and these give them plenty of room. I love the boots! I've only had 'em a week but they were comfy from the get-go AND I've gotten tons of compliments. Great boot!

Beautiful boots, worth every penny! I am 6 ft. tall and where a size 11, finally a boot that looks and fits great. The brown is a very rich color, will also be purchasing the boots in black.

I love my Veronica Frye boots. I have looked for wide calf boots that fit perfect for years and I have finally found them. I love that you can adjust the top of the boot to be tighter or larger. They do not slouch around the ankle because you have an adjustable strap there as well. I would highly recommend these boots. They are worth every penny and your time finding the right boot.

These are the best and most comfortable pair of boots I have ever owned. The sole is so flexible and the boots are incredibly well made!!!! Top notch Boots!!!!!

These boots are great. I wear them with pants and skirts/dresses. As others have said, they are a little shorter than I would have liked (they only come up to mid-calf or so), but overall I am very pleased with this purchase.
