As a plus size gal I have a hard time finding cute boots to fit my calves. I read every review I could find on these before committing to the price. I finally decided to get them and I'm glad I did! I'm 5'11 and they are about mid calf on me, but I love that they aren't knee high. My calf is 20" at its widest and these fit no problem (in a size 11). The leather is wonderful and the styling is timeless. If you're on the fence, get them...you won't regret it! I wear them with dresses/leggings and skinny jeans and get tons of compliments.

Love these boots. Great quality. They will fit tight, but the leather stretches and then they are perfect. Love. Worth every penny!

Great boot, nice dark brown color. The boot was advertised as a wide calf and when I it on the boot did fit my calf, but did not leave from for leggings. Too bad, they were exactly what I was looking for....if only they could have been just a bit larger.

These boots are great. I am 5'6, wear an 8.5M shoe and have an about 17.5 inch calf. These are snug at the top, but with 1 day of wearing they have already loosened up, and I plan to take them to a cobbler for a stretch if they don't stretch enough on their own. The quality, feel, and look of this boot is fantastic! Exactly what I have been looking for!

Awesome! Wore them all day long on the first day! Great fit! Glad I went 1/2 size up. Little slip in the heel but strap adjustment corrects that. Extra in calf is wonderful! First boots I don't have to hide because jeans wouldn't tuck inside! Great to be in love! Thanks Zappos! You matchmakers you!

I have muscular calves which are hard to fit, but I've had trouble with wide calf boots being too big at the top. I'm also short and many boots are simply too tall for me. I blanched at the price of these boots, but was frustrated and decided to give them a try. I hadn't realized they had no zipper and my heart sank when I took them out of the box, because I thought they would never work. But they did! The height is a little shorter, which works for me and I can cinch in the buckle at the top to make them fit better.They fit over my calves like they were made for me and I can wear leggings or even tuck in jeans. They are a good looking, casual boot and I am thrilled to finally find a pair that looks and feels good!

Love these boots! I've had these boots in brown going on my 3rd fall season. They are always the first thing I pull out when the weather cools down. This year I decided to add the black to my collection, now that I know that they are well worth the investment. My take: The leather is high quality, as you would expect from Frye, and the rubber sole is a plus - a feature that seems hard to find in leather boots (probably due to limited selection of wide calf boots...) I have wide flat feet, and my foot has room to move - doesn't feel cramped around the arch. In addition to the top buckle being adjustable, so is the one across the top of the foot. It's not just there for decoration. The fit only improves with wear, and the brown looks great even after they get a bit beat up. I'll probably try to keep the black in better shape, as I don't think they would show the wear as well. I have always avoided boots that don't zip due to difficulty putting them on, but I've never had a problem getting these on or off. I don't think you'll be disappointed with this purchase!

These are beautiful boots. The leather has a weathered look without looking cheap. It is soft and just what I was looking for. They are comfortable and fit true to size. The calf buckles ensure a good fit. I love them.

I love these boots. Amazing fit. Gorgeous leather. Great versatile color. Zappos is amazing. Had an issue with the first pair received after 3 months. Emailed to find warranty info and Zappos had a replacement pair in the air immediately. Could not be more impressed!

I love these boots. For many many years I have been unable to find boots to fit my large calves. I am 5'1" and 130 pounds. I have very skinny ankles so most extended calf boots just bunch around my ankles and pull tight on my calves for an all around horrible look that makes me look even shorter. These boots are perfect - they stand up properly (even though the are "slouch"), don't unnecessarily widen my legs. I can even wear them comfortably with jeans tucked in - amazing. Worth every penny.

I love these boots! To wear and to just look at! They are fabulous. They run small so buy a size bigger, the are wide on top just as advertised, well made and as tall as they are advertised. They will slip on ice, live in cold climate, but other than that I am really happy with them. I find Frye boots, for me, run small so order big.

These boots are amazing. I have had them in brown for over 3 years, and I have been saving up for these ones. They last forever and they are super comfortable. I have wide calves and I am able to wear pants and fit these boots comfortably over them. Highly recommend! Definitely worth the money.

Can't believe I waited until age 66 to get my first Frye boots! They are great. I usually wear 8.5 in Frye, so I ordered both 8.5 and 9.0. The 8.5 were slightly tight in toe out of box, but within 2 days they were perfect! Love the rich color and all the compliments I get. Thanks Zappos!

I love these boots! I have very large ankles and calves and these boots are very comfortable. I tried many, many other boots from different brands and even though they fit, they didn't look right. I was so happy when I got these, and they were exactly what I was looking for.

I don't know that I can find adequate words to describe these amazing boots. I normally buy quality, name brand shoes and boots. However, these were a significant investment. They are more than worth the investment. The quality of the leather is incredible and the "weathered" finish gives them an exceptional appearance. I would note that the wide calf is especially wide. I actually think I may have been able to wear the regular calf given the generous fit on these. These detail does not detract from my love affair with these boots. Easily the best gift I have ever given myself!

Extremely comfortable. Roomy for women with calves. The adjustable buckles on ankle and calf are great to fine tune the fit. Leather is awesome.

These are beautiful and stylish. They are made from luscious soft leather, and are the perfect height for my longish legs (I am 5'8"). They are a bit taller than mid-calf boots, but shorter than knee-tall height, which I like. They fit true to my 8½ size while wearing wool socks. If I add a comfort insert it will get tighter and I will have to wear thinner socks. There is a little heel slippage as with all Fryes, not a deal breaker. Because of heel slippage, I give them four out of five for comfort. But people say the slippage diminishes with wear. The boots have a nice, solid rubber tread which is practical for New England conditions. These are built for long lasting wear as well as style. My calfs are average width, and I got the regular width boots, for a gentle slouchy look with tucked-in skinny jeans. I am quite happy with these boots!

Amazing! They actually fit my calves! I'm a size 6 (size 6.5 for these though - extra room is nice for thick socks) and my calf measures 16 inches around. They fit perfectly and since it's leather I have a feeling it'll only become a better fit as I wear them. Thank you Frye for making such a beautiful boot that fit muscular legs! Too bad they cost an arm and a leg. I want them in black too!

I usually wear an 8½ in boots and these boots in 8½ fit my 16½" calves (which is usually a problem). They are a little shorter than other boots and I hoped that they would look all right on me. They were shorter on me (I am 5'7") but the boots themselves were really beautiful. I think the shorter size also made my legs look better above the top of the boots (sometimes that can be a problem for me, as well). I did decide to send them back for ones cut just a bit higher if I can find them.

Finally, a boot that fits my calf, WITH jeans on. I wear a size 9 normally and have at least a 16-inch muscular calf. I bought a size 9 hoping they would work and they did! There is even actually a little room in the calf, so they're not ridiculously tight. I do have slightly wider feet, and these are a little tight in the foot bed but they've already stretched a tiny bit in a couple weeks. I've gotten lots of compliments! They were expensive for sure. But because I know I'll have them for many, many years, I think it was worth it.

After wasting a bunch of money on boots that fall apart after one season and having a hard time finding ones that fit my calves, I finally treated myself to Frye's and will probably never buy another brand again. The quality is, not surprisingly, exactly what I've always heard about these boots, unparalleled craftsmanship and amazing quality. They broke in much easier than I expected (took about 2 days of wearing). I wear them almost everyday. For you wide calf ladies, I'm 15" and use the very first notch at the top so there is more than enough room if your calves are bigger than that. Can't wait to buy another style

Love these boots! Right out of the box and they fit perfectly. It did take a couple wears to make them extra perfect, but love them! They are my go to boot for every thing. I am 5'1" and have a hard time finding the right boot for me, but these are great!
