Love these. I tried the frye Melissa button and Paige tall riding before these. The Paige were huge on me and the Melissa button did not come up on news high as I would have liked. They also had a bit much cowboy flair for me. I purchased my shoe size in 7, my usual, and they fit perfect. My calfs measure 13-13.5 and these fit loose without being sloppy. The gray is great. Gray and brown tones.

I love these boots. I walked all day in them and they were as comfy as sneakers. Very durable and great looking. Tons of compliments. Great color too. Goes w/ everything.

These are gorgeous boots. I was hesitant about buying these boot for two reasons, one was the price and the other was the height of the shaft. I am only 5' tall and from reading other reviews, I was afraid that the boots were going to go over the knee. Let me tell you, they do not. My legs are short, since I am only 5' tall and the boots come up about 1" below the knee. They are very comfortable and the leather is beautiful, soft and great quality. I got the olive color which is very neutral and will go with pretty much everything.

Not only are these boots amazingly beautiful, but they are soft, the color is beyond fantastic and they look crazy fabulous on! I got tons of compliments and I can't wait to wear them in the winter!

Very cute, but I could not get the boot on my one 'mutant' foot that has a much higher arch. (Fit review based on the foot that made it in.)

These boots are amazing! I was a little bit worried, because my high arch is hard to get into some boots, but my foot slipped in easily. They are incredibly comfortable as well! Beautiful boots! The only problem that I encountered was that Zappos no longer ships to Canada, so I had to ship them to a friend who lived in the states.

I absolutely love these boots. I only buy for.comfort and these are so great looking too! I get compliments everytime I wear them!

Yummy! Comfortable and made from buttery soft leather. The gray is a beautiful neutral color that will go with a lot different colors this fall. I did think they were a bit long. I usually wear a 7.5, and that's what I ordered. I don't think I could have worn the 7, but I don't mind a bit of extra room in the toes. Definitely would recommend to friends!

These boots are awesome. They are so comfortable and the shade of grey goes with everything. I have had Frye boots before and these are my favorite.

This is a beautiful, well made boot, with soft leather. However, I'm still debating keeping these because they are very narrow. It will be a tough decision.

I purchased these in the Black Vintage leather color. In my opinion, the boot looks better online than in person. I found it looked to much like a rain-boot for my taste. I own a pair of Frye Billy Shorts in 8 which were very difficult to get on, but then fit great once on. I had them stretched and they have been easy to get on ever since. These boots on the other hand were fairly easy for me to get on, but then were much too narrow for my foot. Also, as these were an 8.5 they were too long, and there were two finger widths between the end of my big toe and the end of the boot (for reference, I wear an 8.5 in almost all other brands). My calves are 15" and these boots fit a little tight with jeans on, but not too bad. The rubber sole would be great for winter, but I just did not like the style and the fit was not right. Every Frye boot has a unique fit, so try a few of them out until you find one you like. The sole on my Billy Shorts wore through 10 months after I purchased them, but Frye replaced both soles for free and even treated the leather while they were away (it did take 3-4 weeks for them to get fixed though).

These are very comfortable but the taupe looks disgusting. I do not know what you could possibly wear them with.

I wanted to like this boot but I realized after trying them on that this style is not for me. These boots are too tall for me, hitting just below the knee (I'm 5'4" tall), and they are too wide at the top (my calves are 13"). The pull tabs, although helpful in getting the boot on, add to the bulky look of this boot. These boots have a masculine look, something I had not realized until trying them on. I did however give it 3 stars for comfort, as the rubber soles seemed very flexible. But for this price I expect both stellar comfort AND style, so back they go.

Love these boots! wear them a lot, taking advantage of the cold weather, n' enjoying the comfy boots. I wear a 9, and they fit great, my left is a little harder to get on, but once on, perfect comfort. Lots of complements.

I have been looking for these boots for years and finally just splurged. They are worth every penny. They are super comfortable right away, beautiful quality. I love the grey color. These boots could not have been better. And I know that I will keep them forever. I am in love!

I love these boots! I ordered them to try along with the Melissa Button Extended, because I have the regular calf Melissa and they are snug with skinny jeans even after 3 years. These slid on easily on the first wear, and the comfort is no comparison! The leather is beautifully soft and the sole is much cushier. If you find the Melissas a little snug, these are a great (if slightly more casual) alternative.

Got these babies for Christmas, and boy do I love them! I got the grey color, and they are perfect for jeans or leggings! They slip right on, a problem that I have with my Melissa's. Highly recommend.

These boots made from super supple, soft leather are so comfortable. They are stylish, too. They attract compliments everywhere. The pebbled rubber soles guarantee no falling on slippery surfaces.

I've been looking for grey boots for a while now and finally bit the bullet and splurged on these. Sure, they are spendy but worth every last cent. Gorgeous hand burnished leather and great detailing. I love them even more than I thought I would. And the rubber sole makes these boots insanely comfortable. I could walk or stand in these all day without any discomfort. I have other Frye shoes and can attest that they last forever. Very well made shoes. Worth the price. If you are familiar with Frye they tend to run small but these run more true to size. I originally ordered a 6 but they were too big. I reordered in 5.5 and they are just right. 5.5 is my usual size. They do stretch out during the first wear so you want them a teeny bit snug to start. Happy boot hunting!

Absolutely gorgeous boots. The color is so beautiful. I wish they could have a home in my closet, but I have arthritis in my right foot and these are not going to work. I've had the grey ones for years and still love them. The black vintage also work because the leather is different.

I am a boot girl; I love my boots, All of them, and for different reasons. I have been looking for the perfect brown leather boots for years since I had to retire my vintage Fryes. That being said, I tried to buy other brands, but none matched up. The reason I was resistant to buy. Another pair of Fryes was because I usually have trouble fitting into them because of my thick calves. Well, I finally found them! It is a perfect fit, the leather is like butter, they are comfortable, and they are cute to boot. They are well worth every cent.

Really comfortable boots, once you get the right pair! I almost always wear an 8 1/2 , especially if I want to wear thick-ish socks, so that's what I ordered first. They felt like 2 different sizes . Must have been a quality control issue so I ordered another pair. These fit the same but I was really swimming in them so I sent them back and got an 8. They are PERFECT. I love the rubber soles because they add a little more cushion and traction. They are a little slouchy in the ankle but I don't mind it at all. I might have preferred a slightly more fitted look and that's the only reason for giving 4 stars for style. I do still love them, though. I have 14 inch calves, at their widest point, and I can wear these boots with tights, skinny jeans, leggings, and regular jeans, or with bare legs. Are they expensive? Yes! Can you find equal quality boots for less? Yes, I think so. However, I had really specific criteria with regard to heel height, color, style, materials, and these were the the only boots that ticked all of the boxes. Were they worth the high price tag? For me, absolutely!

Best Frye boots I own! As mentioned in the other reviews, the soles of these boots are way, way better than usual Frye boots. They have a rubber tread and seem to be very high quality. This also adds to comfort of the boot during walking, and a stronger platform for the foot. I have very narrow feet, ankles, and slim calves, and these boots fit very well. They aren't super tight in the calf so they slouch just a bit, a look that I actually really like. The leather is really pretty. It is very smooth and uniform on the foot of the boot but grainy and textured higher up on the boot. I really like it. I put some Frye brand waterproofing cream(?) on them which made the gray a little darker. The small stitching details (below the pull tabs and on each ankle) are subtle but really add to the feeling of quality. The boots are true to size (I'm a 9.5 usually; 9.5 in these fits well with a medium/heavy weight boot sock). Try these babies out! You won't regret it.
