These are definitely not as comfortable as my other Ariats - they are nice for parties but I cannot walk miles in them without getting some sores where they rub my ankle. The left boot feels as though it was constructed poorly; my foot rolls inward more than it should. The ankle/shaft is very wide, so even though the footbed fits, these boots look unnaturally large and clunky on me. My mother and husband both commented that these boots looked like they were too big. They are a very cute style, but I would recommend sticking with higher-shaft Ariats!

These are beautiful looking boots. The do not provide enough arch support and the heels are too loose for narrow feet, even with big heavy socks. I wish they could have worked, but alas they are going back.

Such wonderful leather quality! Redwood color was too pink for me. However, great cut and style. Ran big. Love Ariat for my plantar fasciitis!

I usually love Ariat. These fit well and great support, but pretty stiff. I need to love them to keep them, sorry.,

These are pretty boots, but the sizing is really funky. I usually wear an 8.5 or 9 but I bought a pair of these in tan last winter and had to go with a size 8, which still felt pretty generous. They've broken in really well and look great, but I don't need the side zip to get in or out of them. I just ordered the same boot in black, but while the width was overly generous in the heel, the overall length and the width in the toe was really a true size 8 - in other words too small for me. I'm going to return them and pass on a getting larger size because my heel will be sloshing around, and with short boots, you can't rely on the shaft to keep them on. Thank goodness for Zappos!

This is my first pair of cowgirl boots, and they are a success! The materials are nice, well made and buttery soft. They are absolutely not black, however...more of a charcoal grey.

These just arrived, so I haven't worm much, but I was very impressed with the quality. The footbed is nicely padded--don't usually get that in a boot. The red is slightly different than the image, BUT its not a pink as some have suggested, more of a dusty, waxed red. The tips and heel are red, but there is some sort of subtle texture. They are larger and wider than I'd normally wear, but I plan to use these with socks so . . . they'll even work with heavy ones. My teen loved them too--so I'll be getting her a pair in another color.

I originally ordered these in a 7 and a 7½. The 7½ seemed huge and the 7 just a bit snug. I figured the 7 would stretch. I was wrong. No amount of wet socks, boot stretchers or plastic bags over wet boots made the 7 comfortable. But, I love the look of the boots. So, when they went on sale I tried the 7½ again. I swear they had a completely different fit and feel than the first pair. The padding is softer and the shoe is wider. This 7½ fits and is comfortable right out of the box. That is very strange. It is almost like first 7½ was a different production run. I own five other pairs of Ariat so I know the brand. End result is that I am keeping and loving the second pair and am stuck with the first pair. Ariat sizing is different (runs large) compared to five years ago. Also, variance between individual shoes seems to be an issue. For this reason I am giving them only four stars.

These boots are really cute, and the reviews I read suggested I would love them. I did -- all but the too large heel area. My heel just kept riding up in them, and that along with the wide ankle opening made me think "very chic...but just can't do it if not perfect." I wanted to like these. But I also need to be sure the fit is exact to shell out the dough. Of course Zappos is awesome to help with returns and make them so easy. For reference, I wear a consistent size 9 in my shoes (which this boot was), have a pretty wide foot (which the boot toe-box fit perfectly), and have never thought of my heel as being wide. But heel popped up out of boot at every step. Sigh. Too bad.

These are the most comfortable boots. I have paid three times as much for Frye boots, and I found these to be just as comfortable. Being short boots and a lighter color, I can wear these more often. They are really cute with skinny jeans. Love these!

Cute boot and however the top is wider than I'd hoped. Not the best look with tights or skinnies. So, back they go...

I love the way these boots look. I have 4 pairs of Ariat Fat Babies and one pair of the Ariat - black - motorcycle- like boots. All my Ariats were comfortable the first time I put them on -- but this pair was a little stiffer for some reason. I wore them a few times and they did get more comfortable. Not as padded on the bottom as the Fat Babies -- which I can walk miles in. But these boots are stylish and comfortable enough to wear all day to work.

These are pretty cute although the leather is a bit cheaper looking. Also the top is a rather large opening. But they fit well and are pretty comfortable so I kept them. I will try and find the best look for these besides pants covering the tops.

These are great looking and great fitting boots. My only issue is that they are cut kind of low. Should your pants be inside or outside, and how do you get them to stay there?

These felt a little narrow and the leather was thick and sturdy, but they were so stiff, it would have taken a while to break them in. They also felt a little long--my heel kept slipping as I walked, so I returned them. Very good-looking and well-made boot, otherwise.

These boots look great, but unlike my other Ariats, these have a really high arch support or something because they hurt. They poke into the middle of my foot and the insole is not removable as they are in my other Ariats. Too bad, because I really like them and they seem to be well-made. Oh well.

Super cute boot, but I took the advice of some of the other purchasers and bought a half size smaller than my usual size. Big Mistake! I have to return them for my true size.

These fit fine but I really felt like they made my feet look huge - I agree with the other reviewer who said the red color was really more pink. Full disclosure - I do have big feet (size 9.5) but these felt loose and I just couldn't get to the point where I liked them well enough to keep them.

I wanted so bad to love this boot. But too tight in the toe and too much slip in the heel. The opening is pretty wide, as well. Not sure how good it would look with a pant over it. The brown is paler than I expected, more like a medium palomino color. Sending it back.

Cute boots. I bought these for my daughter for her birthday but she didn't "love" them so at this price, they go back. We were a wee bit grossed out by the dirty pair of socks that were stuffed inside. Returning the shoes, threw out the socks.

This is the second time that I've order these boots. I feel that they are a little expensive for the durability, as I wear them to do my barn chores, almost every day. The leather wore out after about a year of use...not typical for Ariat. But I think that they are more of a "fashion" boot than a work boot. I wish, due to the price, that they were a little tougher/held up better/longer.

So...this boot is really well made and so cute. The stitching is great. The red color is perfectly red as it shows. However, I am returning because it is very stuff around the ankle and I wanted some super comfy short booties to throw on all the time. I felt like I might put them in the back of the pile of my boots because they weren't over the top comfy! I heard this company made great boots. I will have to try a taller pair next time!

These boots were super comfortable and fit great, but it had much more of a rounded toe than I like so I am sending them back.

Really cute boots and fantastic service from Zappos. HOWEVER, I returned them because they were too short. I read the reviews and saw several say they were a half size big and believed it. For me, the half size down was a mistake. They were too short and really uncomfortable so I returned them.

I bought these boots in gray and found them to be very comfortable, with a great insole. I wear a size 9, usually in a wide width because of bunions, but the regular width was roomy enough to be comfortable out of the box. I wore these frequently, with dresses and jeans. Unfortunately, over a period of about six months, the leather on the shaft began to flake off, and ended up looking terrible. I contacted Zappos, and of course, they were terrific about handling the return. I own another pair of Ariats, and I love them.
