The fit is true and all the points of adjustability is great. The arch support could be better though. My knees and back are used to more of a wedge style and this style is just too low for my needs so I am returning . Good workmanship and quality are throughout this sandal so I recommend it for those reasons.

I was hopeful, but these didn't work for me. I have bad toes, one had surgery for a bunion and the other foot has a bunion and other toes not good either. My custom inserts don't fully fit into the shoes. They noticeably stick out over the top and are not pretty looking. So, then I tried to wear them with the inserts the shoes come with and after a day of wearing them around the house my toes were in pain. They just don't have enough support for me. For the price, I am returning them and continuing my search. I really want sandals that accommodate medically necessary custom inserts. Maybe one day!

The smog coten color is a shiny silver color (think stainless steel). Not what I was looking for in everyday shoe. LOVE that I can use my custom orthotics in these shoes. I am hoping the dark brown comes back in stock because I think those would be a great neutral shoe color to wear with anything.

Though I cannot cite any specific problem with this style, it just wasn't excellent enough to justify the price.
I've been searching for a versatile sandal that I can wear for a variety of occasions including enough comfort for a lengthy walk.
This one fits that bill, but it doesn't seem to exceed other sandals available for half the price. I was hoping for better than "satisfactory." It wasn't worth the splurge and has been returned.

I just received these yesterday and have had a chance to wear them around the house. I would normally wait a while to write a review but I wanted to give 1st impressions and maybe update this review later.
I have wide feet that have gotten wider as I get older. I have worn Brooks shoes in a 2E. The Finn shoes aren't offered in a wide, but so far do seem to work for my feet. They seem well constructed and cost more than I've ever spent on a pair of shoes. The support seems excellent for a pair of sandals. I ordered them in the Kaffee Plissee and I really like the color, a nice chocolate brown. The leather in these seems softer than the Cognac color I tried on locally. I've heard that you can use leather balm to soften them more. There is a bit of an "old lady" vibe to the style, but you can't have everything. Hoping the insoles and my feet will adapt to each other and that these might be keepers!
As usual, Zappos customer service is great!

Very pretty shoe, for something orthotic-friendly. But I have a low arch, and the diagonal strap was pressing uncomfortably into the top of my foot, and a wide would have been better for my toes.

I have this sandal in the same size without the ankle back-strap, so I thought there would be no fit problem on this version. Alas! It seems there is less toe room. Maybe it's because the backstrap scoots the foot further down. Wanted to love them but will search for another Finn Comfort. Wish they'd come out with a fashionable winter shoe that isn't a Mary Jane. Thanks, Zappos!

Bought these last summer. Shortly thereafter I changed my approach, transitioned out of my orthotics and into minimalist shoes. My feet feel great as long as I go barefoot or wear minimalist shoes. If I wear these sandals too much my posterior tibial tendon pain returns. It goes away when I go back to minimalist shoes. The heels are too built up and the sole is far too firm. These sandals are probably a good choice if you subscribe to the orthotic point of view for care of the foot. They are well made and have good adjustment. However, if you're interested in minimalism and life after orthotics consider something else. I did stop wearing these before my plantar fasciosis pain returned. The repeated posterior tibial tendon pain was the canary in the coal mine.

Great arch support, which is hard to find in a sandal. Comfortable. The leather foot bed is cooler than other materials on hot summer days.

I was surpised to see that this shoe ran large as I had the same shoe in the past and did not remember this problem. The shoe feels stiff out of the box, but I know that it will soften with use. My only complaint is the sizing.

This sandal fit well and seemed comfortable, but just too clunky looking. I might have kept it, but couldn't see spending this much for a shoe I didn't find at all attractive.

I measure at a size 8.5 (39), but I had to order a 9 (40) in this one. They are comfortable, but I am wearing them for the first time today. Wish me luck!

Didn't love the look. The leather seemed stiff and the sole not very cushioned. Also maybe a full size too large.

I bought these sandals to wear in Italy in August. I liked the support and adjustability of this sandal and the fact that once the velcro straps are the way you want them, the back strap unsnaps so that you don't have to change the straps. My feet didn't feel tired even after a long day of sightseeing. The downside is that the straps would have rubbed blisters if I hadn't put moleskin on my feet in multiple places. I had worn the shoes around the house at home for a few days and then took a 45-minute walk. The top of one of the toes on my right foot almost got a blister on that walk and other areas were chafed. My advice if you plan to wear them for long periods of time when your feet will get hot and sweaty is to protect your skin in advance.

These are great comfortable sandals with style and durability. I don't recommend them for all day work but for shopping, light walking they're great.

I thought about these shoes for 2 months before deciding to keep them. They are extremely comfortable, due to the wider foot-bed and nice arch support which is perfect for my very flat feet. The half-inch height in the heel also is comfortable. The straps adjust in 4 places. I did try on many brands in preparation for my Europe trip later this year including Clarks, Mephisto, Easy Spirit, Taos, and Teva. The Teva's were also very comfortable, but too casual for my needs. The Gomera style is not so attractive (I didn't think any of the Finns were cute) and they make my feet look stubby. But they are so comfortable and at least have a smart-casual look so I am keeping them.

Boats. Giants. For anyone wearing a 7-7 1/2 and having a narrow foot but you can get by in a B, buy the 7. I have to pull the straps all the way past the velcro tab to about a 1/2 inch of contact. Huge. But extremely comfortable. I walked all over Istanbul and Amsterdam with these sandals -- pea green, imagine! -- and never got a back ache, which I'm prone to. They support my arches. Excellent shoe.

Comfortable and good for walking, which is why I bought them. Not especially attractive on the fashion end of the spectrum. Had to exchange for a size smaller than my usual.

I already own a pair of these comfortable sandals in another color. However, the pair I got were uncomfortable, looked like they had been returned already. The top strap cut into the top of my foot. I believe the pair I received were defective so I returned them.

I was quite disappointed in these shoes. The metal grommet holding the buckle rubbed against my skin as I walked. The leather is rough and unfinished and would surely give me blisters.

The leather on these was very stiff I thought. I have several pairs of sandals that are medium width (even though I have a narrow foot) and usually the velcro can be adjusted. But with these, when I got the velcro tightened, the straps didn't line up nicely. Between that and the thick/stiff leather it was an immediate no-go. So sorry.

I have this exact pair in white and they are terrific. However, I noticed I got a UK size this time (for the white pair, it is a European size), but they fit differently. Hmmmmm...

I ordered these Finn shoes the Gomera and the Sumatra at the sane time. The Gomera styling I like better but the edge of the straps are scratching my feet. However, the Sumatra straps are soft and comfortable. The Gomera shoes are going back. Something happened with the quality on this one.

I bought a mint green pair last spring. Prior to that I had been experiencing horrible foot pain for several months, and these shoes went a long way toward alleviating that pain allowing me to walk again. I love these shoes for that. I wear them everyday; now that it's colder I wear them with socks. Not sure what I will do once it starts snowing.
Anyway, about two months after wearing them the stitching across the insteps began to come loose then the stitching across the toes on both shoes. The store I had purchased them from had gone out of business due to the owner's retirement so I had to contact the USA distributor (Kanner). They were very helpful. (Zappos CS is amazing as well!) I sent pictures. As the stitching became worse I noticed the leather strap near my arch was tearing. So instead of restitching them for me they offered me a new pair. They were out of mint so I chose smog corten.
The leather on the new sandals did seem more sturdy, and I was very happy with them. I've had them about six weeks and now the stitching is coming loose in the same location as the first pair, on the instep. (The leather seems to be in great shape however :) )
This is so weird. I'm wearing the sandals as anyone else would. They have not been exposed to rain or anything else that may damage shoes. In an attempt to figure out what is going on I have begun to roll up my pant legs around the house (which is the only place I wear them now due to cold temps outside) so they do not brush against the insteps. This seems to have arrested the progress of the stitching coming loose.
Let me reiterate I L O V E these shoes, but what's up with the stitching!? I've never seen anything like it in my entire life whether wearing $20 shoes or $255 shoes. If the stitching can't hold up to a pant leg brushing against it then I can't in good faith recommend them. Having said that, they have allowed me to get back on my feet as I recover from foot problems. For that I am immensely grateful.
