I ordered my son 3 pairs of hiking boots, planning to return the 2 pairs that fit him poorest. This pair had the worst fit. My son is 13 years old. He is a Boy Scout and will be participating in several overnight camps this summer as well as several back packing and hiking trips. He liked these the least because he said they didn't feel or look like hiking boots. They were "soft," moving towards a sneaker in looks and feel to him. He has narrow feet and these were difficult to adult in that area, as well. To me, these looked like fairly good boots, and they have received many good reviews, but they weren't good for my son. Returned them.

my husband's favorite shoes. he wears them every day. they last about 1.5 years. they are amazing. thank goodness they continue to make a style that works!

I suffered from plantar fasciitis and Keen boots allow me to work without an additional insert. great quality and fit and comfort.

Keen shoes are great. Their ergonomics make them walk so easy it's almost like you don't have shoes on. Gotta try them. This particular boot has a nice padded collar and even though the quality materials and construction are strong, they form to your feet very quickly. Fitting suggestion... go up 1/2 size and if you are a wide you might want to try 1 full size larger. Just be sure to get a good ball of foot fit with plenty of width and you'll love them. For the narrow foot they might feel a bit sloppy. Just put a bit of toe filler material in the toe box and you'll be fine.

I am very pleased with these boots. I have a small wide foot in these hiking boots fit like a glove. Delivery was very prompt.I give the highest recommendation!

Pretty comfortable shoe. Good ankle support although it seems like the laces loosen over time. Overall a great pair of work shoes. I'm on my feet and knees as a repairman all day so it's nice to have good support as well as rubber toe coverage to protect the shoe.

I recently started a job as a delivery driver and two weeks into it I developed a foot injury to my achilles and had been limping around trying to do my duties. I thought perhaps it had to do with the shoe I was wearing which was a low top trail running shoe. I ordered the Keen Utility based on the reviews a week ago and have been wearing it on and off duty. My limp is completely gone perhaps due to the ankle support this shoe offers. When I'm not driving I am constantly walking on broken and uneven pavement and crouching and stooping frequently. These shoes are a definite live saver in regards to keeping your feet in good shape and the pictures don't do them justice style-wise. I originally thought they looked very gaudy but when the shoe arrived I changed my opinion. If you have ankle/foot problems, work on your feet often and want a capable shoe, please consider the Keen Utility Detroit Mid Soft Toe!

Keen's are my go to work shoes now. The toe box is a little wider than than most shoes and I have found Keen's to last. The are worth the expense.

Have bought these for two friends who helped me in a home construction projection. They really like the comfort and traction of these boots. Seem to be of high quality. Also bought them better insoles and thorlo socks. Which is the icing on the cake for these nice shoes.

I received this magical pair of Keens this afternoon. I was heading out to work and I found them on my doorstep! I put them on right away they are absolutely awesome! I felt like I was wearing a BMW! They are very comfortable. I will add my voice to all the cool reviews. These shoes are extra good. I do a foot patrol standing security guard I walk at least five hours a day and I used to wear many good and expensive shoes. These are totally different. They are really the best. I loved the weight, style and the way they cover my feet and ankles. There are two things that I really did not like. The way they were delivered, I found the package on my doorstep! I mean whoever brought it should knock on the door to hand it to me. I had a very bad experience in the past when someone stole my package when it was on the doorstep and it took me a long time to get another one. So the delivery guys should be more professional so no one can loose his time or money. This was not Zappos' mistake for sure. One of the laces is about to break apart in two pieces over the next couple days and I think it is a manufacturing thing. I really need to know where to get the same quality pair of laces for these. Again this is not Zappos' mistake. Thank you, Zappos! You guys are awesome! I am sure that I will see you again and again.

Easily one of the best pair of shoes I've ever owned. Usually I'm only looking at the price tag and will get whatever is cheapest. Also, for outside of work purposes, I've been a sneaker guy most of my life. These shoes have changed all that. I bought them two weeks before a week-long conference that would require lots of walking and lots of time on my feet. I'd read some reviews from folks claiming to have bought these shoes and worn them in similar situations without a long break-in period. I was skeptical. But I can report that I wound up doing much the same thing with the same results. The shoes are lighter than I expected but feel sturdy. I wore them around the house for a few hours the first night I got them and was impressed with how comfortable they felt. Also seemed like I was getting way more arch and ankle support than I'd get from my usual cheapie sneakers. Wore them to the conference and had no problems--no soreness, no pinching, nothing. I love these shoes and plan to get another pair. Also plan to wear them as much as possible, especially when traveling. Spending a bit of extra money on these shoes was the best decision I've made in a while. They feel like they're built to last for the long haul. Also, I ordered the wide width and they feel true to size and don't feel like they're pinching the widest part of my foot. Keen, you made a winner of a shoe and a believer out of me!

I purchased these boots for animal control field work and have found them to be great. They are comfortable right away and are roomy in the toe bed like typical Keens. I have also received compliments on their good looks. I am a women's 9-9.5 and ordered a men's size 8 and found the fit to be a little roomy, but it feels like the correct size.

Though these boots were just for work,but bought them for hiking through the woods in western N.Y. My feet never got tired, had them on for about 9 hours.Went through mud, snow and water, stayed dry all day. What a great boot.

The foot bed needed no break in. However, the rest of the boot being made of good stiff leather has taken a few weeks to break in. Also the keen dry lining in the boot bunches on mt right pinky toe and gives a small irritation, especially when I wear thick winter socks. This may just be a fluke in how my boot broke in but it is annoying. The boot isn't insulated but will keep your feet warm with winter socks. I haven't walked through any puddles but the waterproofing has held up in snow. I was surprised at the traction these boots have on snow/ice. All in all I am pleased with this boot. I hope for this price that it lasts for a few years as I only wear them at work.

This is the second pair of these shoes I've ordered for my husband who is on his feet all day. He loves them and says they are very comfortable. He now orders other Keen shoes for casual wear.

I am a driver for FedEx. These boots are waterproof, warm and comfortable. Perfect for driving,and in & out of the truck. Best boots I've found so far.

VERY COMFORTABLE. I bought these boots for work - I paint TV & movie set scenery on all types of floors, ladders & scaffolding. These boots bave great arch & ankle support but are as comfortable as sneakers: soft & flexible on the inside with a tough shock-absorbing sole. I really notice how the heel absorbs so much of the pounding of spending 10hrs a day on the job plus my 1-2 hours walking & riding the subway each day. I've had them for 1 month of this & they still feel brand new. The rubber- reinforced toe is good & high so it's great for working on the ground & kneeling & crawling around. I actually get excited to put these booots on each morning! During my workday they feel so good I forget about them (meaning I'm not uncomfortable or sore or grumbling about foot pain). If you do time on your feet give yourself a treat. Buy these boots!

My husband has been on the search for a pair of work boots as he works in warehouse and walks several miles a day and his boots never last and hurt his feet. Finally with this boot he said it's like walking on a cloud and not concrete and these last for a long time. I highly recommend this boot!

I have been a police officer for over 20 years and this is the best overall boot I have ever worn. They are well constructed and comfortable right out of the box. The boots hug and support your feet throughout the day. I recommend this boot for anyone that is on their feet for extended periods of time.

These shoes are the most comfortable. I spent 10 hours on my feet every day. The arch support is great. I would definitely buy these shoes again and of course 5 star service with Zappos.

This boot has plenty of room for a wide foot (ordered wide). There is no break in time needed for a leather boot. I work on concrete, asphalt and drive and am comfortable all day in hot and cold weather. The mesh tongue gives good ventilation. I would highly recommend Keen boots.

Perfect fit, comfortable, and yet rugged and firm. It's like your foot is in an armored limousine. Hard on the outside but comfortable on the inside. The waterproofing makes them a bit on the warm side but that's fine. Nice style - even has reflective lace eyes for low light situations.

These boots are very comfortable and I purchased a second pair. I work in a correctional facility and needed a boot that would give me support, & comfort as I am on my feet continually walking my whole shift. They're waterproof, my feet are always dry when walking in pouring rain or drifts of snow.

I work at a kennel and I am on my feet for my whole shift on slippery wet floors. I'm also very flat footed and have ankle and knee issues so I need a good solid boot that helps keep my ankles turning the wrong way. My friend who makes orthodics and Prosthetics for people with bad or missing feet saw my problems and recommended Keens. She was totally right. They're light but sturdy. Have great traction and support my (lack of) arch and ankles. I also have wide feet. I got the widest they offered on Zappos, EE. They're a bit snug, but getting better with wear. Plenty of toe room and my feet son't ache at the end of my shift as much. They're also really light. I don't feel like Frankenstein clomping around in big heavy work boots. Which also makes them awesome for hiking. My only gripe is that they aren't resoleable like other work boots. so if they wear out you have to buy new ones. But honestly..I love them.
