Although I think this shoe would work great for Zumba (one of my instructors wears them) they didn't work for me. I am truly a 4-1/2 W (bunions) but wear a 5B. I knew that New Balance shoes were wide but had never tried them. Even with wide feet, the 5Bs were just too wide. Toe box had a bend in it, so I sent them back. My 2nd shoe was a hit -- thank you Zappos!

These aren't the best looking shoes, but they fit the bill as a wide width cross-trainer. I use them for Insanity workouts and they provide good support for lateral moves and jumping.

I was surprised to find a good looking crosstraining shoe! These have just enough style and color. Not as gaudy as running shoes often are and not plain and clunky like most crosstrainers tend to be. The 871s do run big and wide. The shoe is already shaped for a foot that is wider at the toes/ball of the foot and normal from there to the heel. I normally take an 8.5 in almost all shoes, sometimes sizing up to a 9 because my foot is slightly wide in the front. Since wides were available, I ordered these in 8.5 Wide, and they were definitely too big overall. Very loose at the heel. I would advise against the wide sizes unless the entire length of your foot is truly wide. A regular 8 fit me much better, but unfortunately these just didn't have enough cushion in the forefoot for me. The heel is a bit high, forcing more pressure onto my forefoot, and it made my feet sore to just walk around in the house trying them on. A different insole may have helped, but I ended up going with a different shoe instead.

Great shoe! Seems like enough support for Boot Camp! Only minus is it's run a little wide.

These are awesome! However, my foot is very narrow...the toe box is too wide for me and my foot can rotate inside the shoe. The arch support is perfect and the outer sole is perfect because I have weak ankles and the tend to roll, especially when jumping rope...would definitely recommend these!

I have wide feet. These have a very comfortable fit. The 2 previous exercise shoes I wore, my ankle would twist with side movements - side movements with studio style classes has not been an issue, smooth movements.

I'm a group fitness instructor, and I'm using this shoe for BodyAttack and TurboKick. I'm disappointed in this shoe. The shoe is too wide, and I feel like my foot is constantly sliding around in it. I've been wearing thicker socks, which helps somewhat. There's minimal cushioning in this shoe. I was doing plyometrics yesterday, and I felt like I might as well have been jumping around in bare feet. I expected more. I gave them a chance, and I've decided to buy a new and different pair of shoes.

I got these for Insanity/Turbo Fire as an upgrade to running shoes and was disappointed to find that these had less support than my current. I cannot see lots of stability here. They are lightweight, but not suitable for these intense videos.

These shoes provide a good amount of support, especially for neutral pronators but the material seems flimsy, cheap, and stiff. I'm used to a softer shoe (Brooks).

I returned this shoe. It seemed more like a running shoe than a trainer. The shoe was much narrower than the usual crosstrainers from New Balance, many of which I own and love! The arch was high and hurt. I did like that the shoe had good support and would be good for pronation. I also liked that the shoe was lightweight. If you like wide shoes, the wide is not very wide. The size is also a bit short. This shoe would not be good for anyone with wide feet, at least not the D. I'd suggest ordering a half size larger too.

These shoes are narrow and cheap. I only wear New Balance and I was looking for a cross trainer but these really did not pass the test. They look like little kid shoes. At the same time I got a couple pairs of runners in the same size and they all fit great.

I was looking for a shoe that would help with the turbo fire/insanity workouts. This is it! Most crosstraining shoes are too light and don't have enough support for me & I also have wide feet that makes the sides of the shoes tend to break down fast. This shoe has extra strip for support in that area and has that extra lip to help with this. This shoe also has good traction for all the moves you do with plyometrics. I do my workouts on carpet. This shoe could use a little more cushion for jumping, but other than that it works great.

These are the best shoes I've tried for Jazzercise. Most arch support of any brand I've tried to date. Bought a second pair as a backup.

These are fantastic cross-training shoes. They're not as cute as Nike Frees, Pumas, or the other trendy shoes out there, but they're supportive, and great for lifting, dance fitness, etc.

These shoes are great for me, because I have narrow heels and a wider toe base. I wear these shoes for Jazzercise class. My heels don't slide, but my toes are comfortable. I've been looking for shoes with narrow heels for awhile, so I'm happy to have found these.

When I first put these on, I wasn't so sure, because the 'stability' aspect (aligning my ankle via proper arch support) seemed iffy. There is definitely a 'bumper' on the outside, it throws you off at first! Then I put them in action, and they're amazing. That 'brake' on the side is exactly what's needed, and the stability was fantastic with lots of jumping and time spent on the front pad of the foot. They're super lightweight, which is truly awesome for quick motions and kicks, and of a solid, comfortable construction, everything one would expect from NB. Highly recommend for any dancing, boxing/MMA, or high impact/quick movement type of aerobic activity. (Oh, and they look red in the picture, but they really are pink as described, just a very dark pink. Pretty hot looking shoe, I should add.)

I am a Zumba® instructor and have been through MANY types of shoes in search for the "one" I was having to recycle my shoes every three months and my first pair of 871's lasted almost 7 months!!! I did, however, use them in conjunction with the New Balance cushion inserts. I am on my second pair and am hoping that New Balance keeps making these! The protruding peice on the side is optimal for lateral support (side to side movements)and the pivot on the bottom is perfect for Zumba® My only complaint is they could be MUCH cuter!

These are the best shoes I have tried for zumba...enough traction to not slip but not too much to make it hard on the knees for the various twists and turns. They fit beautifully...a 5W...and were comfortable from the first wearing.

I LOVE my new NB WX871's! I wear them 5-6 days a week for Zumba. I have really bad feet and a tough time finding shoes that will leave my feet happy. These shoes came recommended to me by several other Zumba ladies and I'm glad that I followed their advice!

Awesome shoes for zumba/dance/cardio/pylometrics. It has good side to side support and arch support. Enough depth for insoles as well. Very true to size.

Comfortable shoe. I used it for indoor exercise, including Jillian Michael's workouts and Turbo Fire. I did find, however, that might feet would feel tight and tired after a half hour. Overall a good shoe, but not the right one for me.

I ordered these for my Zumba classes and I was very happy with these shoes. They had great support and allowed me to pivot for certain moves. I would definetly order them again. I just wish they had some better colors.
