Customer Reviews New Balance WW577 Hook and Loop

I ordered these sneakers for my mother in law who is in a nursing home and had difficulty with tying her shoes and intermittent swelling of her feet. They have helped immensely. I do not think they are as wide as we would like; however, the Velcro is perfect for her.

These shoes fit true to size. They are very comfortable and especially easy to put on. They are probably the best tennis shoe I have worn. I am planning to order a black pair to wear all winter. New balance makes good shoes.

Shoes are attractive and comfortable. I have a narrow footprint, but a high arch, so I would like a longer tab on the velcro strip; otherwise, I am very much pleased with the fit. I buy New Balance shoes because I can get a narrow width.

These are very comfortable, with a roomy toe area; I love the Velcro straps to fasten!

I bought these for my mom, 97 years young. She needed a shoe in a wide width. This sneaker was perfect, and the Velcro makes for an easy on and off. Also, New Balance is MADE IN THE USA.

I'm very happy with my New Balance shoes. They are comfortable and fit true to size. I do wish the Velcro straps were a bit longer, but that is a minor complaint.

I like the fit of this shoe except for the Velcro closing. I have a high instep, and the strap across my foot does not fully cover the Velcro. About a 1/2 inch of the Velcro is exposed. From past experience, this creates a fraying of my pant leg as it rubs against the Velcro. I am returning and will order the lace-up if I can get it in my size.

I ordered these shoes for my Mom following a fall she took. She had not bought shoes for herself in over 10 years and wanted the ones with Velcro closures. She could not go out and shop as she broke her pelvis and was restricted to my house. Zappos was amazing! I could show her the choices on their internet page, she selected the ones she liked, and we placed the order, all within 5 minutes. The price was very reasonable, and to my delight (I still do not know how they did this), the shoes arrived on our front door step the following day! They fit well, they help her keep her balance, and they are very light weight. This 92 yr old loves them!

I've had other versions of the New Balance shoe in the past. I'm glad to see that they have started making the Velcro version again, as it sure makes getting through those airport security checks easier.

True to size. Very comfortable. No problem removing the insole so that I could put in my special insert. Very supportive.

I wear an 11, Narrow as I can get it.I had to exchange for a 12. New Balance is the only athletic style shoe that comes narrow. I like the Velcro. Can't go back to laces. I buy a pair of these every year for work.

I like these, got them for nursing school. Wanted something that was easy on and off. These are perfect for that and easy to wipe clean and still have a nice athletic look. Comfy with good support.

This is my first time with New Balance. They do run very short in length. However; the price is affordable and in general the shoes are very supportive of weak ankles and problems with balance. They get a big a big plus from me and they will be ordered again. It did take a few weeks to break them in.

These are great shoes! I was concerned because they are less expensive than others I bought in the past, but they fit and feel great. The SL2 toe and double wide size really helps with my extra long toes, without being too narrow in the heel. I wore these on a trip where I did a lot of walking and also walk 2 miles every day at home. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I have to have special orthotic inserts, so I was unable to answer the question re arch support. My doctors recommend the New Balance shoes for my bad feet.

These shoes are wonderful. They are comfortable, and they can accommodate orthotics, which I need.

Love them. They fit my really difficult right foot which has was injured and had surgeries. Very difficult to find "nice" shoes.

I've been buying this New Balance model for years. This year they made some changes - narrower velcro straps, thicker tongue. The shoe feels a little less sturdy, doesn't fit quite as well. It's still the best out there for my needs (must insert orthotic for very high arch). I just wish NB hadn't downgraded the quality.

I love my New Balance shoes with the velcro closures. I ordered these because I was scheduled to have total hip replacement surgery and I thought they would be easy to get on and off. They are so easy! My caregivers and my physical therapist can put them on and take them off with ease! I never ordered athletic shoes with velcro closures before but I would highly recommend them for anyone who is having surgery and will have others helping them rehab post-op. Also my left foot is swollen most of the time and with the velcro it is easy to adjust for the swelling. Thanks again for the great service!

I was unable to replace my favorite New Balance 576 in Bone color with Velcro, so I decided to try 577. I did keep this 577 shoe, but it is not nearly as comfortable. The leather is stiff and the Velcro straps are very short. If shortening the Velcro straps was a cost-cutting measure, I hope it won't happen again.

We have purchased from Zappos several times. Prices are great, no shipping both ways, what more could I ask for. Not a long wait for items either.

Just what I wanted--a shoe that I could put on easily for everyday wear, not for major fitness. I needed a square toebox to accommodate my longer 2nd toe, and this shoe has that.

These are not comfortable, the tongue is not in straight, rather it goes to the side. The straps are not long enough. The 575 was much better.

This shoe runs true to size, and width. I also like the extra padding in the heel. They are great!
