I do like this shoe although it did seem to be a little too narrow to be a medium width. They are still comfortable and seem to have a decent arch support.

I've been wearing New Balance walking shoes for years, but I recently realized that I now need a size larger. I ordered two pairs, black and bone. They fit and felt great, right out of the box. My custom orthotics replace the insole.

I bought these shoes for my mother and she loves them! Fit is true and comfortable. The toe area is a little boxy, but not an issue.

Comfortable, quality materials, well made, but as a womens' shoe - hopelessly ugly.

I have a hard time finding walking shoes to fit since I have a narrow foot and no arches! This show has been so comfortable and was just what I needed.

The straps were not very strong velcro, and they didn’t seam to be long enough. The depth sing shallow from top to bottom.

Purchased these to replace the exact same model of NB shoe that I'd worn to death. This would have been my fourth or fifth pair of these NB shoes. I was disappointed that the shoe, while still having the same look and model number, seems to have changed. It feels like the toe box is a little narrower, the straps a little shorter, the seams not finished out as well. The whole effect of a nip here and there is the shoe feels too small in the toe box and just plain wrong in the sole. This is more than can be explained by "break in" or wear on the older shoes. Disappointing. When you order the exact same thing, you expect the exact same thing.

I have shallow, bony feet and a bunion, so look for something with a wide toe box and flexible leather. The shoe seemed sturdy and well-made. Not flexible enough to meet my needs. The straps which others reported too short, did pull across my feet with an extra tug. The sole made noise on a hardwood floor.

A lot of support but NO cushioning! If you have any kind of heel pain, these are NOT the shoes for you! They are very hard and will give you a lot of support, but they have very bad cushioning, so if you have Plantar Fasciitis or any type of heel pain, this model will only worsen your pain. I liked the practicality of the hook & loop and the material, but I wore them twice and now I have to get rid of them because they give me heel pain. The sole and heel area are so hard! I was told they were for walking, so I was looking forward to using them for that, but they were terrible for me. After doing research I found out that they would work for someone that has problems with their feet or bones and needs extra support.

I ordered 3 sneaker styles from Zappo's (whom I love, by the way -- FANTASTIC service!!) in order to try out an EE width (that's the DOUBLE wide) in an effort to simply find a comfortable pain-free shoe - 2 New Balance and one Saucony - and they are ALL going back due to lack of comfort/ not wide enough. Full disclosure: I do have a bunionette (tiny bunion at base of pinkie toe) in addition to wide feet, so that may make my review less applicable to you...? Anywho... the New Balance 577 was almost a contender, but I couldn't make it past an hour and a half in it, with marked discomfort at 30 mins. It's appearance is rather big and clunky (even in a sz. 7 and 7-1/2), the shoe is a little stiff-ish, and the tongue almost cuts into the ankle front since the top velcro strap is located so high up. Unlike some reviewers, the velcro WAS long enough for my feet, leaving only about a half inch gap of "unvelcro-ed" area on my larger foot, and none on my smaller foot. If you have high arches, the velcro probably won't be quite long enough...? I loved the idea of the quick-on-and-off velcro straps, but unfortunately, this model KILLED my bunionettes, just as much as regular width shoes do. I am very discouraged about trying to find shoes to fit my wide feet. If anybody has some tips, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

Shoe was made very well, but the Velcro Straps were so short, my wife couldn't hook them. We are returning the shoe. Always buy New Balance shoes. This was a very big turn off.

All was fine for length and width but the leather around the opening was extremely thick and inflexible which cut into top of my foot. I could hardly bear to walk across the room.

These felt very comfortable except my toe hit the end of the shoe... too short. Ordered 1/2 size larger and same thing. Shoe too short. SAD. Will try 1/2 size larger.

Where the tongue of the shoe is sewn in, the underside is very bulky and rough. Shoe felt like a box on my foot. Getting ready for hip replacement, so trying to find easy on and off shoes beforehand. Very disappointed in quality and general fit of shoe.

Very disappointed. Strike plate on bottom became detached.

innter construction (tongue) poorly done, rubbed my arches uncomfortably. I am returning.

Why did they shorten the straps that hold the shoe on? I have had this shoe in the past with long straps but these short ones will not stay fastened. I ended up donating the shoes to a charity as I couldn't wear them!!

I'm trying to find shoes to fit over a new custom-made foot/ankle brace and hoped these would work. In spite of ordering a larger size and width, these shoes were impossible. The tongue is so thick that the short straps don't reach from one side to the other.

Strap was to short to close shoe when worn. Defective design.

These shoes do not fit comfortably . Therefore I'm returning.
