My daughter has been using this model since pre-k. The fit and comfort is always A-1. Love this product.

Great fit.

The size and width are just fine. They are very comfortable. Unfortunately, when my daughter took me to the various shoe stores, we couldn't find new balance shoes with the straps. They only have the laced ones available in all the stores. I have problems with my left foot because I have gout by my big toe joint. I love having the straps because I can adjust the one strap nearest by my big toe to be loose and make the other strap closer to my ankle a lot tighter. That way my shoe doesn't fall off, and it will allow more room by my big toe. I was really surprised that the shoes arrived to my home so fast, just 2 or 3 days. Thanks for your help, really appreciate it.

This shoe needs longer hook and loop closures or an elasticized "eye" like the 813 has. I ordered a wide size and it feels a bit tight now, but, from past experience, it should stretch out a bit. For the price, it is a good shoe (as long as it doesn't begin to smell like cat pee somewhere down the road).

Very stiff shoe, had to return

This is the second pair of the New Balance shoe. There is definitely something wrong with the manufacturing of this shoe. Both pair hurt so bad above the toes where the tongue hits that I cannot wear them at all. I am very disappointed because I really like the looks of the shoe. You can tell when you feel down at the end of the tongue that it is too rough and impossible to be comfortable. I am really sorry that I have to return these shoes.

i found this shoe to run abit small but the advantage of having the velcro strips and being able to buy them in narrow made them a wonderful purchase i live in a very small town in far west texas and finding a narrow shoe here is impossible i will definately buy this size and style again

The velcro straps were not sewn on accurately (at an angle) but were still functional. Shoe is very comfortable for walking. Easy on and off, a plus.

great study shoe...fantastic service from beginning to end

The fit is fine. I also have them in white and beige so am accustomed to how they feel. Have only worn them once so will need to break them in. They do look like "old lady shoes" especially in the black but I can walk twice as far in these shoes as I can in other shoes so it is worth it. I have had two foot surgeries so I need comfortable walking shoes. Very good service from Zappos.

A lot of support but NO cushioning! If you have any kind of heel pain, these are NOT the shoes for you! They are very hard and will give you a lot of support, but they have very bad cushioning, so if you have Plantar Fasciitis or any type of heel pain, this model will only worsen your pain. I liked the practicality of the hook & loop and the material, but I wore them twice and now I have to get rid of them because they give me heel pain. The sole and heel area are so hard! I was told they were for walking, so I was looking forward to using them for that, but they were terrible for me. After doing research I found out that they would work for someone that has problems with their feet or bones and needs extra support.

Not enough support and .... ugly!

I have been searching for a shoe for my mother-in-law. She recently had a stroke and it has been impossible to find something that fit her foot on her weak side. In addition, she needed something with a lot of support. These shoes were perfect. However, I initially bought an 8.5 in white, they were too big. Then I ordered an 8 in black, and they were too small. We finally ended up on the 8.5 in black. Thank goodness Zappos has free returns! These shoes are not attractive, my husband hates them, but they fit well and have the support that she needs.

This shoe style was disappointing. The tongue of the shoe was constructed in such a way that the fabric was bulky and intrusive on the inside. It made the shoe very uncomfortable. New Balance can do better than that as their other styles do not seem to have that issue. The shoe was chosen for a 93 year old senior citizen with difficulty fitting shoes. It seemed like a good option but we found that the propet company was certainly a better option.

I'd never had a hook and loop closure shoe before but thought that since my feet swell sometimes that this would be a good solution. These shoes were like putting on armor. They must be extremely supportive but I could hardly get them on. Maybe they would soften up after clodding around for a while but I obviously would not deal with straps again and would get a whole size larger and wider. I am not an expert on New Balance brand and can't recall if I've ever had them before. I still have much faith in Zappos.
