I bought these to replace a water-friendly pair from a few years back. These don't compare favorably, though are good enough for wearing at work while standing for long periods of time and walking for short distances. I certainly can't hike for several miles like I do with my other Tevas, which have padding under the straps. Still looking for that perfect replacement!

I thought the Hurricane sandle would be more sturdy like the originals I bought a couple of years ago still in use!

I had a pair of Teva's that were fantastic. This new pair of Teva's does not compare. The footbed is rough so it rubs against my feet. The back strap has been lowered so it's not as comfortable. I loved my Teva's! I'm only sorry that they separated between the footbed and the sole of the shoe. I would have worn them forever. My first pair of Teva's from the early 90's were the best. They lasted me about 8 years with constant wear. I'm still a Teva fan, just not happy with the new design.

Both my daughter and I had to buy regular flip-flops on our vacation because of the blisters. She won't be wearing them again, but i might.

Cute shoe and well put together. I wish they came in half sizes, but maybe it needs 'break-in' time. They will be great for the beach.

Runs very wide! Nice and comfortable if you have a wide foot.

This is a wide sandal, even for someone with wide feet. Another review said Teva replaced its Pretty Rugged model with this but the sole is way wider than my current Pretty Rugged Tevas. The sole is also too firm with less arch support. I love Zappos quick delivery service but have to return these.

The heel cups are not as deep and the arch does not seem as high, and the straps aren't as substantial. The impression is that the product is a more cheaply made product as the pair I had that this model was supposed to replace.

I bought these to replace my old Teva's Style S/N 6800 that were 10 years old and I just LOVED. While they look like my previous style, they were not as comfortable, especially for hiking. This new style has exposed, stiff, nylon straps that cut into your ankle and top of foot. If you did not do much walking in them, or wore socks with them, they would do fine. The footbed is very comfortable and supportive and the straps are adjustable to give a secure feel. I returned these and bought style 1001474, Terra Fi Lite, which are padded and more comfortable, more like my previous 6800 pair, even though they look different in style. I miss the 6800.

Love the design and style. I wore out my old Tevas and wanted a new pair. The only thing I don't like is that the straps are much shorter than on my old sandals. I don't have big feet, but the straps look short on me. I will keep them, but I think I'd order a different model in the future.

I could not wear this pair because I have wide feet. My left foot hung off the shoe, in the back, on the right, facing the strap. I didn't have this problem with my previous pair, which I love, love, love and bought around 8 years ago! I still wear them, even though they are very old. My older pair, with a beautiful pink pattern, also has thicker padding at the bottom, making for a more comfortable fit. These shoes aren't bad, but they are no where near the quality of shoes that TEVA used to make.

I have had Teva sandals before and liked them a lot. When I bought now a new pair of Hurricane XLT I notice a change that I don't like. The heel straps sits lower on my foot and the ankle strap is not long enough (I would need at least 1 inch more). When I compare it with my older Teva sandals I notice that the little piece that connects those two straps to the sole are shorter than on the older sandals. A seemingly little difference, but that makes the new sandals for me less comfortable. Also the strap over the toes could be 1/2 inch longer. Unfortunately I couldn't find Teva sandals in stores to try them on. That is why I ordered online, and I had already one exchange (usually wear 10 but needed 9 with these sandals), and probably will keep this pair although I am not entirely happy with it. I would recommend them to a friend but better try them on first.

Straight out of the box -- very comfortable. And the color is versatile. There is a 'but' in my estimation of these sandals. I normally wear a 9 1/2 -- half sizes not available. Ordered a 10 which works fine with the adjustable straps. The width of the sandals through the toe area is enormous! When I look down at my feet, it looks like I'm wearing snowshoes. Have worn them in the house for several days and contemplating getting a different style!

The main issue with these shoes is the lack of padding under the straps - everything else is fine. I wear Tevas all the time but it has been a while since I bought a new pair. Didn't realize these didn't have padding when I purchased them. Unfortunately the straps really rubbed against my feet and no amount of adjustments helped. Sent them back and I will try the next level up to see if that has padding.

I have used this model for several years always replacing it with the equivalent. I love it although this time it feels a little bigger, and the stripes on the front changed and they hurt my toes.

I ordered a medium width, but I received my sandals in a box marked 7W. I believed the W meant wide. They look very wide, wider than a man's shoe. Customer service said the sandals only come in Medium, so the W may mean "Women!" They were comfortable, but I tripped wearing them because they are so wide. I had to return them without getting an exchange because the Customer Service Rep said they only came in a Medium and that is what mine must be. There was no packing slip, but my original order confirms that I ordered a Medium.

I bought these to replace my 12 year old Tevas but returned them and am going to just keep wearing my old ones, though they are starting to die after 12 years of fly fishing, kayaking, and general outdoor use. The new model has the weirdest, widest footbed that makes my feet look like they are swimming. The strapping material is definitely scratchier than the original, and I am concerned that it would cause blistering and chaffing. The angle of the straps does not allow for ergonomically comfortable adjustment and just accentuates the scratchiness of the strapping material. I am not certain what Teva did to change this model, or why they chose to go this route. The shoes are really attractive, but definitely not comfortable out of the box, and I am not certain that they could ever become comfortable.

I bought this as an alternative from chacos because I liked the color white. The delivery came on time but the fitting was not what I had expected. It was a bit long for a size 9 shoe. The strap across the toe rubs the toes cause slight pain. Its nice but somewhat painful to wear.

The stiff nylon material irritated my little toes and the sides of my big toes. I owned a pair similar to these many years ago and they were padded and much more comfortable. I returned this pair because of the chafing.

The footbed is so wide that I had to look twice at the box to make sure I'd received a pair of women's sandals in medium-B width. Comfy as bedroom slippers, these huge, cushy footbeds are more like snowshoes than sandals.
