I bought a pair of Teva sandals last year that I just loved. I web searched using the Teva style number sewn inside. Same number, looked like the same shoe. Imagine my surprise when the sandals arrived. The straps are thinner (narrower). The padding under the straps is thinner (narrower and not as padded). The strap from the front to the clasp is looser. The over-all feel of the sandal is "cheap feeling" as compared to my older pair. Since the old and new were the same style number, I was so disappointed in the differences. I wore them around the house, trying to get used to them and make myself like them. I couldn't. I sent them back. (I also own several other styles of Teva sandals.)

I bought a pair of these and a pair of fossil canyon sandals, thinking the Toachi looked more stylish than the Fossil Canyon, but knowing the latter fit like a glove. I shipped the Toachi back for refund. The fit was that different, and that much less comfortable "for me". But try 'em yourself. Toachi does look better, but Fossil Canyon wins hands down for comfort. I wish Teva would produce the Fossil Canyon in more color options.

the toe end of the sandal is too "pointy". it should be wider and rounder. my little toe almost hangs over the edge and my big toe isn't anywhere near the front end of the sandal. the velcro straps seem awkward. instead of fastening on the inside of the sandal, it would be easier to close and open if the straps closed and opened on the outside (anterior) of the sandal.

Debra Babarsky | Teva - United States Your team was fine. I am so frustrated with the product. I owned a pair of Women's Toachi 1's that I loved. They delaminated after only one and one half years. I called and you said to send them back for a credit. If I had known that I would never have been able to find another pair, I would have kept the defective ones and tried to find someone who could glue them well. I couldn't retrieve them, after I sent them back and was told that you had now substituted Toachi 2's for the Toachi 1. I ordered the Toachi 2's, but they are an inferior hiking sandal by comparison. They feel and function more like a dress sandal. Walking around in the house with them for hours proved to be uncomfortable and fatiguing to my feet. Even though you guys improved the way the padding underlayer works (by dividing it and giving more room for adjustments), the Toachi 2's do not hold the foot as securely or offer the padding or the support that the Toachi 1's did for hiking and walking. I have ordered the Toachi 2's twice, since the first time they did not please me, then after two months of trying to find a replacement Women's size 9 and 1/2 Toachi 1 on the internet, I decided that I would try another pair of Toachi 2's and see if I could talk myself into them. I was reminded again as to why they do not work and sent those back too. All the internet shoe companies are out of the Toachi 1's or the one pair I found came with a defect (underlayer pulled to tight on one side and incongruencies in the length of strap from sole to plastic loop, so that the left plastic loop sits where lays uncomfortably against my slight bunion. Maybe companies like Zappo's and Sierra TRading Co. end up with the seconds from you. I wish in some way, you could find me a pair of Women's Toachi 1's in a 9 and 1/2 chocolate chip, without a defect in construction. For 12 years I wore the Terradactyls #1720, but the velcro wore out too much and the lack of soft padding under the straps chafs too much for long hikes. Also, I am now addicted to and love the clips at the ankle for easy in and out. It also prevents velcro burnout. In your world, can you find me a good pair of the Toachi 1's I love? I am a whitewater canoe guide in Colorado. I buy Tevas for use on the river. I've worn Tevas for 20 years now and my last pair lasted for a good 12-15 years until they finally smelled so bad I had to throw them out. I was super excited to find a new style last summer that had just toe protection without the entirely closed feel of Keens. I was super disappointed when the sole started falling off after three wearings. Teva replaced them with this new style (they don't have the original ones I bought anymore - last year's style and with obvious problems), but I am not a fan. Wish I had the cute, comfortable shoes with the toe protection and a sole that stays on.

The shoes were not true to size. I ordered these for my husband and he is very disappointed. This is my 3rd pair of Teva's and I have enjoyed all 3 pairs but the sizing was true to size. It seems the sizing in the men's shoes do not run the same. My husband reports they are very uncomfortable and can only where them if he covers his feet with bandages for protection. I am very disappointed.

i got these as a return and though the ones I returned had the soles fall off these are not as nice as the prior years tochi's that I sent back...If I had seen them at a store vs on line, I would not have bought them. the return process was painfully long otherwise I would have returned these again but Im kinda livin with em since I really need sandals for the summer and I'm out the $$ anyhow.

They are just too plain compared to my old Tolachi Sport Sandal. For the price, their appearance pales next to the competition.

I love these sandals. Much like the original version, they are very comfortable, light weight, and fit great. However, just like the original, they wear out far too quickly. I purchased these sandals back in April, have used them lightly on occasion, and now the sole of the sandals are coming off. So just over 2 months of light, occasional use, they need to be replaced. I'd love to think this is just a random occurrence, but as I stated before, the same thing happened with the first revision of this model. All in all, I do recommend these, just be warned that they could wear out within a short period of time.

I have the previous style of this shoe and loved it. This one the top strap was not wide enough to cover my foot and I got a blister. Bummed and returned them. The velcro ankle strap isn't long enough to cover the velcro and it rips my pants. If it was better designed I'd buy them again.

I already own four pairs of open toachi sandals. I love them, and wanted black, so I thought I would try the new design. I'm unhappy with these. I need major arch support and cushioning and don't get that with these sandals. Will only be able to wear them for short periods. I can wear the original toachi sandals all day with lots of walking and working out. The toachi did not need a redesign.

I have the original Open Toachi sandals, purchased two years ago. I love them and wear them daily from April to October. My daughter in law has the same sandals and loves them also. They get 5 stars. I bought the new Toachi 2 to have a new pair that weren't so beat up. Unfortunately the placement of the strap across the big toe has changed (moved about 1/2" forward) and it chafes my bunion. I will have to return these and look for closeouts on the old style.

I miss the earlier model as it was more comfortable, no blisters and a lot more color choices. Won't buy this model.

In May 2013 I ordered my first pair of Toachi 2 (Size 11/Dark Olive) for a whitewater rafting trip down the Colorado River thru the Grand Canyon & I loved them. The fit/form/function (3 f's I look for in a shoe) were all perfect & essential to this outdoor adventure. In fact, I still own this Dark Olive pair and keep them in my South Florida home for when I visit. I just wore them last month as a walking shoe for a week & the fit/form/function are still great. Since this pair permanently resides in Florida, I bought another new pair in April 2016 (Size 11/Turkish Coffee) for another whitewater rafting trip down the Colorado River thru the Grand Canyon. They still fit great. However, the shoes became uncomfortable when the circular ‘shoc pads’ in both heels began to curl up/cup and peel away after very little use such that it felt like foreign objects beneath my heels. So I returned them to Zappos as a manufacturing defect. Because I still want Tevas in both places, I might try the Holliway next since I prefer to stick with the top strap quick-release buckle design. The Holliway does not have heel ‘shoc pads’ even though it is described in the "item information" at the time of this review. I brought this error to Zappos attention & Jourdan said that he would send a ticket to the Content Team to have the listing updated.
I'd also recommend:

The front strap has a gap in the padding right over the big toe joint at the ball of your feet and it is painful. Thank goodness I wasn't out for a hike. Back to the store they go. Bad design.

Comfortable, but expected more durability from an expensive, highly recommended everyday sandal. The sole of one sandal came apart in less than a year. I would try another pair because it was so comfortable to wear.

I was very disappointed.i have been wearing Teva sandals for almost 15 years. The Toachi was narrower than any I have previously purchased. Additionally the toe straps were not even the same length. At first I though maybe I was seeing things wrong but then upon measuring the straps there was almost an entire inch difference in the length. The sandals were returned a week ago and the USPS tracking says they have been delivered as of the 16th and still as yet I have not received any communication from Teva or seen my refund.

Terrible. Bought them for vacation and wore for less than 1 hour and started getting pain and then a blister from the two pieces below the strap. Really digging into my skin and no amount of adjusting the strap helped. This was on both feet!

These caused massive blisters on my heals after a couple of hours of walking in them. I suggest buying these 1 size larger than you need. That might have cause less blisters. Mine are in the trash now.

I could not wear these because they were too narrow and the ankle strap could hardly close. Although I have wide feet, I have been able to easily wear other Teva sandals. This pair I will be returning and hope to get another style

Ordered same size (13) as previous TEVAs (SN6670, Terra Fi 2) and they are over 1/2" narrower and 3/4" shorter in the footbed. Company cannot explain the change, nor tell what the footbed measurements are of larger sizes to be sure we order the correct size.

I am kicking myself for getting rid of my original Toachis - they were the perfect sandal (pictured below). Except for a broken strap that could have been repaired, they still had a lot of life left in them. But instead I threw them out with the intention of getting new ones. To my dismay the design of the Toachi 2 is very different and unsatisfactory: far less arch support, a thinner uncomfortable toe strap, and a design on the footbed that irritates my feet. I could live with the last two if it had the same arch support as the originals. But alas, I will be returning them.

Not happy with this pair. Have had Tevas in the past and loved them. Wish I could return these, but according to your return policy, if they've been worn once, they are non-returnable. Won't be buying another pair.

I use the Toachi for in house foot comfort. The 2 older pairs I own are 3/4 of an inch wider thus are more comfortable. I won't purchase another pair until I know they will be wider.

A wider strap meets a thinner strap that goes through the buckle. They meet right above the big toe creating a pressure point there. Strange design! I checked out a few other Tevas and they all have that same design flaw. I don't get it - maybe my feet are wider than the average foot.
