Exactly what we wanted! Purchased for an incoming freshman headed to college in Missouri. Excellent product, durable, comfortable, will work out great.

A great looking shoe, and the overall fit was great; however, the three lace holes that you see are a thick plastic piece, and when I laced them up tight, it felt really uncomfortable on the top of my feet. I was wearing fairly thin socks, so maybe it wouldn't be as bad with thicker socks? The soles felt really solid, and it felt like a nice wide and stable traction.

If it hadn't been for a crescent-shaped protrusion from the midsole on to the outside bottom of each foot these would've been keepers. Also, the Gore-Tex lining made a crinkling noise.

The only problem is they wear out very quickly if you walk on pavement/sidewalks. 6 months and they are done.

I finally decided to replace my last pair of GTX XCR's but was disappointed with the fit of the shoe. I loved those shoes so I ordered the same brand but the new shoes were a bit small and uncomfortably narrow. I was forced to find a different brand because North Face didn't sell wides in this style.

I really tried. The left shoe pinched my pinky toe and the vibram souls were uneven. My right arch was hanging in space whereas my left arch was cradled snug. Oh well. There were also some manufacturing defects on the tread. Rush job at the factory.

Uncomfortable. Something stabby at the top of the shoe inside. Too stiff. They actually made my legs hurt. I kept thinking they'd be better once they're broken in, but they only got worse. Disappointed.

These have been some great shoes for Disc Golf. After 10-12 rounds they show no wear on the grippy soles. The toes are holding up well. They are waterproof. Very comfortable right out of the box and broke in quickly. They fit my foot style while the Salomons I tried felt to narrow and the arch support was not in the right place for my foot. We shall see if they hold up as long as Merrell shoes.

Excellent shoe! Currently replacing my 2 1/2 year old Hedgehogs with these. I never buy the same shoe twice but these were so great I'm doing exactly that. I have worn these just about every day on all surfaces with some trail hiking along the way. They have awesome grip on all surfaces including snow/ice. The soles still have tread and the only reason I have to replace them is because I stepped on some rebar at work and caught the mesh and ripped it. Otherwise I bet I could get through the summer with them. Overall great shoe for ultimate traction, support and durability. Just to add I weigh 290lbs so trust me when I say they stood the test!

Flat out - best shoes I own. I coach high school lacrosse and was looking for a shoe that was athletic but would hold up well during spring rainstorms while I was coaching. Sure enough, the first pouring rain day these shoes kept my feet completely dry. I couldn't believe it, and was thrilled with the purchase. They are extremely comfortable, have great arch support, the special heel-stability system is great, and I feel like I could wear these shoes anywhere. Highly, highly recommend these for anyone from trail runners to moderate hiking situations to just anyone looking for a shoe that holds up no matter the weather!

I seriously need to know how Zappos does it. I ordered these shoes Saturday night and I had them on Monday. Awesome. No one else does this. So the shoes are great. Great fit. Very comfortable. No complaints. I'll be ordering more and definitely from Zappos.

I was told this shoe is the best hiker/trail runner on the market, and that seems to be true. Besides just looking totally boss, wearing these bad boys on the trail feels as if I'm gliding fresh cut grass. Truth is, I may not be good at writing shoe reviews, but I'm being genuine when I give these shoes 5-stars. I love 'em.

This is my 2nd pair... The first pair was indestructible and maybe 3 years old. I exercise a lot and this shoe is really built well for weight training and walking, running, cardio.. Well worth the money!

Great fitting. Great looking. Great fun. I was looking for a durable shoe for casual wear as well as hiking. The Hedgehog III was the perfect solution. It looks a bit bulky, but the Vibram sole makes it lighter than it would seem. It's incredibly comfortable, and my feet felt great after a strenuous four hour hike. I recommend these for an outdoor enthusiast looking to pay a bit more for incredibly comfortable shoes that'll work just as perfectly climbing a mountain as they would attending a backyard BBQ.

I love these shoes. I am on my third pair. Great all around shoe that fits in at work or on the trail.

Use these shoes for work and to play Disc Golf. Water Proof is key down here in south FL they are also dependable in step and take a beating... great shoe!

I was pretty disappointed with these shoes as they feel much bulkier and a half-size bigger then the previous model. Also the build quality is lacking as well due to the Toe-guard separating from the shoe within two months of purchase. I exchanged my original 10.5 for a 10 and they seem to fit much better. Now to see how they hold up...

My son greatly recommended these shoes, although I knew nothing about them. My original problem, which still continues, is the fact one shoe feels much tighter and restrictive on top than the other. However, both do have a noticeable pulling sensation across the top of my feet. Thought perhaps half a size larger might help, but that was not recommend by the salesperson.

This is another example of fixing something that isn't broken. The Hedgehog is slightly modified from last year's model. I was prepared to order this shoe every year as I loved last year's. But a slight change to the shape and now it doesn't fit was well (larger) and I don't like the look as much. Great shoe otherwise.

These are great looking shoes. Unfortunately they are pretty narrow across the arch and puts some pressure on the outside of the foot for me.

Do not buy these! This update runs extremely narrow on the toes and hurts them, this is the third pair of Hedgehogs that I own and the first time this has happened to me.

Thought the shoe fit well and wasnt made of cheap materials. Shoes lasted a long time.

My husband loves these shoes. They are very comfortable and look great after a lot of wearing. They do run a size small so order up.

I've put this shoe through about almost everything and they are still in fairly good shape. Super durable and I like them because they are easy to slip on with its sturdy heel. They are waterproof. Sometimes my feet got wet if I accidentally went to deep in a creek or something but they dry relatively fast and are still very comfortable when damp. I'm buying new shoes for casual things because I think thees are starting to smell because they don't breathe that well but keeping them for my adventures. I did wear them year round and they worked well for me in the summer and winter.

Great waterproof shoes for work and play. Mine have been worn for long 12+ hour work days with little let-downs. Hot, cold, wet or dry, these will hold up and keep your feet comfortable. I wish more "outdoor" shoes like this were a little more attractive, but they do look clean enough for a semi-professional environment, such as event production work. Would buy again.
