I am a grown woman, 5 ft 1 with sort of athletic calves, size 6 -7. The photo of these is misleading, because these Youth boots are not too short and boxy, they are just under knee high! It doesn't look like you're "cheating" by getting a kid size instead of an adult. I normally take a Youth 4, but wanted these roomy and easy to slip into with/without socks in a hurry to take out the dogs. I tuck my lounging pants or pj bottoms into the top a bit and stay dry and fashionable. I bought green, but they are pretty green, not dull. Classic and perfect! I probably could have taken a Youth 4 but for my purposes, the 5 is great, and the circumference is adjustable with a buckle. Be like so many of us women who buy kid shoes to save a little. The more you save, the more you can buy!

Great buy! I love these boots - not only are they fun in color, but they look good on. They are comfortable and do their job in the wet weather. Plus, they are more affordable in the kids sizes. I am never buying the adult size again -I am size 7 in womans.

I bought this for my 13 year old daughter. She loves it, it's different than all the other rainboots you see other teenagers wearing. I got her a 5 youth and she normally takes a 6 1/2 women's shoe size. It was roomy, which is good so she could wear thick sock during the cold winter months here in MA. I did also buy the Hunter fleece liners that go with these boots. My 16 year old daughter who is a fashionista borrowed these boots from her to wear to school today. Zappos is the best!

After buying about 3 pairs of rain boots a year (which we end up duct taping about 4 months later) I broke down and bought these boots. They are expensive but they have a 12 month warranty and I am really happy so far. My daughter loves the boots and they allow her a sense of freedom and adventure when we go on our daily walks (I love not having to beg my children not to jump in puddles, but to encourage them!). All the reviews stating the boots are roomy are correct, perfect for children to grow into. I also bought the fleece liners for my son's boots and I would not do that again. They bunch up and he refuses to wear them. Otherwise, lovely boots!

Just moved to Buffalo from SC and wanted a boot for my daughter for spring and fall. These are perfect and she loves them!

Great rain boot! I love being able to jump into puddles on a rainy day and know that my pants will not get wet. I am a woman's size 7 - 7.5 and bought a children's size 6 which fits perfectly. I have enough room to add a fleece liner. The construction of the boot seems very solid and feels like it will last for a very long time rather than the cheap rain boots you find else where. I would definitely recommend this boot!

Bought these before in green but wanted a black pair for so long. I got the email alerts in when the black ones come in stock. I wear a woman's size 6 to 6.5 depending on the fit. I had these in green so I knew that they would work fine. I buy the kids version because I am 5'1 and the woman's are too high for me but the short festival ones are too wide at the top. I think there are newer shorter ones that are just straight but I also save quite a bit in price for the kids pair.

This is the fourth pair of Hunter boots I've purchased for my son and I love them so much my husband and I have them, too. No other boot stands up to water like these do and you can be tough with them, too. Because the boots don't wear out I've passed the smaller boots on to friends who have younger kids and even they can't wear these things out! Excellent product!

I wear woman's 5 1/2 size and youth size 4 is perfect for me. The height of the shaft is also perfect. I returned a red pair because it was brighter than I thought. The black one looks great and the shaft is narrow enough to enhance the adult look. I wore it first time the other day and got 3 complements in a few hours! It is also very comfortable. I gave 4 starts for style just because of the Hunter label in front. For kids, that is just fine but for grownups, I feel slightly childish. However, it does not ruin overall style of the boots!

These boots are excellent, taller and more flexible than most kid’s rainboots. My son even thinks they are comfortable enough to run in.

Purchased these for my 8yr old who is very picky about how her shoes fit. She says they are very comfy & don't slip when out playing. Others have asked where to find them too!

These are without question the best wellies in the world. I grew up wearing them in England and was so happy to be able to find them here. They are completely waterproof and last for years (a pair I have been wearing for 20 years has just worn through on the toe). However, the women's sizes come up long (they are an inch and a half longer than my old, UK bought boots) so I tried my daughter's US bought pair and they were great. However, if you have bigger than average calves they may be too snug. They fit well, are true to size (I am a 7 women's and 5' 4" and bought a Youth 5). They also stay on if you need to run, have proper contoured insoles and you can ride a horse in them (and many people do so every day in the 6 months of mud that are the English winter). They also hose off quickly, somehow the mud doesn't stick to them the same way it does on other boots.

I purchased the Hunter Wellies and fleece liner socks for my 4 year-old grandson in his favorite color, yellow. We had an 8 inch snow the week before Christmas so he was delighted to open a present early. We played outside in the thick, falling snow for two hours and his feet never got cold. The only other thing on his feet was a thin pair of socks that he would normally wear with tennis shoes. The next day we played and sledded for four hours in sunny, 40 degree weather and his feet were never cold. I heartily recommend the boots and socks to anyone with an active child who loves to roll and run and jump and just be a kid! Easy on, easy off, easy clean.

I love them! I got the orange color and they are great. I usually wear a woman's size 6.5 and I thought the 5 fit perfect. I originally purchased the woman's version but didn't like the way they fit. Not only are these a great height for someone 5'3 and they were half the price.

I researched many boots and finally decided on a yellow pair of Hunters. I was in need of a truly waterproof boot that I could wear to the barn when visiting my horse during the upcoming wet and snowy winter. Although the women's glossy Hunter boots are very pretty they were too tall/too big for me. A youth size 5 works perfectly for my true size 6 slightly wide feet and petite frame (5 ft). The top of the boot hits a few inches below my knee so that I can still run around and drive comfortably. The youth size 5 accommodates welly fleece socks, a base layer sock and my ankle supports as well as tucked in skinny jeans or leggings. I can also fit the youth size 4, but only if wearing a thin sock. I am very pleased with my purchase; Hunters are so comfortable that I can wear them the entire day. They're also quite cute and chic, in my opinion! So far, they are waterproof, but I have yet to try them out in deep muddy conditions or heavy snows. I like them so much that I am considering a second pair! Hunters almost make rainy and cold, snowy days kind of fun!

These boots were a big hit for our 3 year old granddaughter who lives in the Aspen area. Her mom asked for boots that were warm, sturdy, easy to take on and off with no zippers and cute. Charley wore the boots nonstop for the first three days. She loves the freedom of putting them on by herself and the day care teacher is happy that Charley can be independent. Thank you Zappos, for sending the Hunter boots so quickly!

I purchased these for myself. I am a size 7 women's, but I'm only 4'11" so I thought the adult size would be too tall. These fit perfectly in both size and height. They are extremely waterproof, I am able to stand in a puddle of water with no leaks.

I am 5'1" and normally wear between a size 5 and a 5.5 ladies shoe. The women's versions of these boots were too high for my particular taste, I wanted something about 2 inches below my knee. I originally ordered the Youth size 5 but found them to be way too big in the footbed. Even with the fleece liners, they felt sloshy and sloppy and I was afraid I would trip. I retunred them for the Youth size 4 and the calf hasn't changed much but the footbed is more suitable. The calves are pretty narrow to begin with, a problem I commonly have with high boots in general, as I have athletic calves. These do fit however, and I have managed to smash work pants into them as well (without the liners). I'm happy with the Youth size 4 and with Zappos' AMAZING customer service!!

I wear a size 7.5 in women's shoes and ordered a Big Kids 5. Although the boot fit, my toes were touching the end of the boot with thin socks on, and the boots were very difficult to remove. I will be returning them for a Big Kids 6, which should be perfect. So glad Zappos has free fast shipping both ways!

I am a womens 6-6.5 shoe size. I first purchased a 4 after reading other reviews, but I could not even get my foot in. The 5 fit, but was too tight in front and around my calves. The 6 fit perfect!

I am usually a size 5 ladies; size 4 in boots. I ordered a size 4 youth and it was really big-at least a full size too large so I've sent them back and will try a 3. The calf part was really loose so I'm also hoping that the size 3 will be tighter.

My 10 year old daughter loved that they are not kiddish looking like, easy to slip on and off. She likes to wear them going fishing with dad, her feet are secure and dry with lots of fun, not scared any more of getting wet. However, she mentioned that they are on a heavy side, but she still wants to keep them.

I ordered 3 pairs of rain boots in prep for the fall/winter in the NW. Returned the Chukka and Tretorn because the Hunters seem lighter, with the buckle it does taper the top enough, and the color and style is so versatile. I usually wear size 5 or 5.5 and bought the size 4 per recommendation of a previous buyer. Great recommendation - half the price and fits great!
