This is an excellent product. Bought this for my 4-year old grandchild for pre-k. Great quality material and he will be able to use it for several years.

Bought this for my (soon to be) 5 year old for part of his birthday gift. My 6 year old daughter helped pick it out. She loved the zoo print!! Super cute in person and nice size for up to 1st grade. Large enough for folder, lunch and a sweatshirt or shoes. Great outside pockets for water bottles, etc. thanks North Face!

This back pack fits my son so nicely , we love the blue and red color and the clasp in front that helps keep the back pack from slipping. Very well constructed backpack , and well worth the price. We love the north face products, always well made.

Fantastic backpack! We are huge fans of North Face products and this backpack doesn't disappoint. The green color is awesome, it's functional, and will hold up great. I bought it for my 3 year old to take to summer camp and to preschool. Love it and so does he!

We bought two of these, one for our 1st grader and one for our 5th grader (she's tiny!). The backpack itself is great, we love the look and feel of it, but it is pretty small. The fifth grader can't even fit her binder in it. I think this will be perfect through 2nd grade, maybe even 3rd, but when they really have to start carrying things for school, it's just too small! We had to return the 5th graders bag, but we're keeping the other one!

Thinking out of the box for a mens diaper bag. Not bulky or atrocious. Performs perfectly as such. Plenty of pockets and storage for a small pack. Should last long enough for the little one to take to school too.

This was a gift for my daughter in the third grade. She has had a butterfly backpack since she started kindergarten and has been begging for a new backpack. Her dad and I both use north face bags and figured this would be a fun bag to add to the collection. She loves it so much and would definitely buy again.

This backpack is adorable BUT my daughter is in second grade and it is super small. We had to return it and buy an adult size. This would be great for kids to haul toys and such around or maybe even for preschool. Not good for grade school tho!

I bought this for my daughter for travelling but can easily used for school too because it's spacious. Love the graphic pattern and bright colors. And especially love the straps in the front to prevent the two side straps to slide off when my daughter wears jacket.

Bought this for my daughter, 5 years old, for kindergarten. We love the bag - the look, feel and style. My only wish is that it was a bit larger. It holds her "take home" folder, but barely. You have hold the backpack fully upright to make sure the folder is tucked in and you can zip it.

We bought this backpack for my 2.5 year old so that he could carry his things to daycare/preschool like the big kids. He needs to bring a lunchbox large enough for an ice pack, extra clothes, swimsuit, etc... We also have the Youth Sprout backback as a comparison. While the Youth Sprout is great for toys for a small car ride or trip, it's not nearly big enough for a lunchbox or many clothes. The Youth Recon, however, is a great size for that. It's not so big that toddlers can't carry it, but it's large enough to fit most things necessary for a daycare/preschool trip. It can be challenging to get him to put it on (because toddlers), but once it's on he's clearly comfortable and has good balance. Our son is fairly short for his age, but when the straps are all the way cinched the backpack still fits him well. I would recommend this to parents for sure. I wish it had more interior pockets and I wish it came in more colors.

I bought this for my daughter for first grade. She loved it but it was a tiny bit small to be able to carry multiple folders plus a lunchbox and grow with her. I wish it were slightly roomier because the women's backpacks are too big and the youth are too small.

I got this for my daughter for school. It was smaller than I has expected but it was able to hold everything she needed comfortably. I was very happy with the color and pockets in the front and sides. I did not think a full water bottle would fit but it does no problem.

Love the back pack for my 3 year old 56 lb size 6 boys a bit long for his back but he will grow into it. I would have loved it if it was all black like his papas or more color options.

I ordered this backpack for my son. Hes going to 4th grade. Should've checked measurements though because it's way too small, wont fit a folder without bending the corners. Other than that it was a very nice outdoor pack too go to a pool or a playdate. Nice colors, they really pop.

I bought this pack for my daughter to use in second grade. It is way smaller than she needs. So I am going to send this one back and get a youth sized one. The quality is pure North Face and I am certain it will stand up to whatever life throws at it. It would be great for camping or over night stays but not proper for older school kids.

Bought this for my 5 year old daughter in the sugary pink color for Kindergarten this year. Was concerned about the reviews regarding the size. Upon arrival, we tried it on and the size is perfect for a Kindergarten to 1st grader. Little disappointed that the color is actually more of a neon coral instead of pink.

Awesome backpack. Color is not what it appears on website, though. Wish we wouldve gotten black.
