This bag is the perfect size for my small child who has an adult sized load of books to carry to and from school. Adult sized bags are too small, and most kid sized bags didn't have the ergonomic design and the shoulder clip. I would love a waist strap as well.

My daughter uses itfor 1nd grade. It fits her perfectly. We actually bought a smaller one for kindergarten and first grade and got something slightly bigger for 2nd. She wasn't happy with the "other brand" we bought. It wasn't comfortable. So we came back here and bought her another backpack that we will use for 2 or more years. The backpack is super comfy, just enough room for her lunchbox, snack,take home folder, a sweater and small toy. And her favorite color is pink. You can't go wrong!

Purchased this for my son in PreK and Purchased a different one last year for my daughter in 2nd grade. It is so lightweight and a great size for what they need for school. Perfect for their size. It holds school folder, lunch cooler and 1-2 library books and snack in the front pocket. And it has the water bottle holder which is also great. It won't hold much else though, but it's all they need. Gotten lots of complements.

My daughter loves this backpack, especially the color.. She's a petite 8 year old and it fits her really well. It has plenty of room for her school folders, books, and lunch. Also great on long hikes.

Bought this cute little backpack for my six year old granddaughter and she really loves it! She said, "I don't have to just use it for school do I?" Yep, she likes it! Score for Nana!

I bought this for my daughter who just started kindergarten. I love this backpack. It is very stylish and durable. I bought her a similar one 2 years ago when she started pre-school and we still have it, but I wanted a new one for her this year. They are very durable and last a very long time.

I bought this for my youngest daughter who just turned 6 and was starting kindergarten. It is the perfect size...big enough to hold a thin binder or a folder but not a huge backpack taking over her whole body. She loves her new big girl backpack and I am glad because I have to say it's a lot cuter and much better quality than the character backpack she would have picked out.

This child-sized backpack caught my eye as the perfect on-the-go bag. It's small enough to not be cumbersome or bulky, but large enough for everyday needs such as a wallet, a Nalgene, a notebook, etc. My favorite feature is that the back and strap padding is NOT the plush mesh padding that is prevalent on most backpacks now. That mesh material pills all my shirts. The smooth padding on the Recon Squash is PERFECT. Note that the mesh side pockets are not large enough for even a 32 oz. Nalgene, but they are perfect for keys and my glasses case.

Bought this for my 6 year old in the 1st grade and he loved it. If you're looking for a backpack for school use, this will probably be too small for any child in the 5th grade and beyond. Great design.

the color is very nice and comfortable my son loves his bag. the bag is perfect for his age group going on second grade.

This bag serves the purpose I needed. I wanted a backpack that is not too bulky and big but have enough space for the things I needed when I travel around the campus. And it fits my laptop as well along with other things I carry around. In addition, the color and design of the bag received lots of compliments while I travel with it.

I wanted my 5 yr old daughter to have a good looking backpack that she can use for school and also be able to use it when we go hiking/camping. She truly loves it and doesn't leave home without it.

Love this backpack! Fits my five year old son perfectly. It's stylish and fits his lunch bag, water bottle and school folder with room to spare. Lots of pockets and compartments, which we haven't used yet, but may in the future. Reflectors will come in handy when daylight savings starts. Highly recommend.

I bought this for my daughter's first backpack when she recently started kindergarten. She loves it! The color is bright and vibrant and there is plenty of room for all of her things.

This is an excellent backpack for my son who will be in Kindergarten this year. It's a perfect, comfortable fit for him to wear to school and while traveling through airports. I definitely recommend and plan on purchasing another for my daughter when she starts school!

I bought several of these for my children as they begin school. These bags are small enough that they aren't too large for them to conveniently carry, yet big enough that the kids will be able to continue to wear them as they grow. The largest compartment opens deep enough to fit my children's school things as well as a decently sized lunch bag. I did a lot of research on the best bags for elementary school kids, and I am very pleased with the Youth Recon bag.
