I love these slippers! They are so comfortable and have a great arch. I went down 2 sizes and they fit perfectly. I always buy my slippers 1 size smaller than my shoes but I needed to go down 2 sizes for these.

I know some people found these slippers to be too small/tight, but for me they are the opposite. The length is right for a size 7, but they are pretty loose on my feet. I can only wear them with really thick socks. So if you have thin or regularly sized feet, you might start one size smaller.

Disappointed that such a pricey slipper would appear to be devoid of any kind of character. Aggressive arch support was to be expected but the lack of a wide foot option was especially prominent when trying on the standard width offered. Also nothing especially comforting as expected of a slipper. Returning.

Love these slippers. I wear them all the time at home. Great arch support. The soles wear out very quickly, especially if you wear them to run outside to get boxes or the mail. They are too expensive for the soles to run out that quickly. I have to replace them every few months. That’s why I took stars off.

I received these slippers as a gift at the beginning of October 2019. I loved them, they were the best slippers I had ever had, very comfortable and warm. However, at the end of March, after a mere 6 months of wear, both slippers developed holes at the seams of the toe box. I still think they are great slippers, but for the amount of wear they offer, the price should be lower.

I have purchased lots of these slippers over quite a few years. They had always been very consistent and comfortable. That is no longer true. The sizing is inconsistent , run small and short in the roof, the arch support is more towards the middle of the foot, well past where it was before. I don't know why this change has occurred , but it no longer works for me. I'm disappointed, so it's back to the search. Zappos,thankfully , has always been great.

This slipper runs really small, at least one full size. It has great arch support if that is what you want.

I got two years use before the hole at the big toe showed up. My sister recommended these and after I purchased them she told me she got the toe hole within six months. They run a bit big. I wear a size 9, bought a 9, but have to wear fuzzy socks in them so they don't slip off my feet.

The pink is a beautiful color and I really wanted to love these slippers...but I had to return them. Although snug to slip in to, the cut of the slipper everywhere BUT right at the point at which you slip in is very loose. They are wide and roomy, and would probably be great if you didn't need to go far or fast. I was looking for a replacement for my Ugg Ainsley moccasins, which I wear all the time. I needed a shoe that was snug and wouldn't slide around when I ran up or down the stairs or moved quickly across the kitchen. Unfortunately, these Giesswein Ammern Classics were not the right shoe for me.

Was hoping to find a pair of slippers that was comfortable and stylish as I work from home and wear them all day long. I liked the color (gray) but not much else. The slipper was too wide (and I have wide feet), there was no cushioning on the footbed and no arch support. At my age I need some "cush" in my slippers and this one did not fit the bill.

5 month daily wear around the house -developed hole on the big toe,had to wash them 2 times in order my toes not to get colored.

These slippers are lovely. The rim going over the top of your foot is soft, not hard as many other boiled wool slippers can be. The boiled wool itself is soft, too. This was my first time ordering this brand. i usually order a Haflinger AT Classic slipper, which seems to be discontinued here and everywhere else. These looked similar and the reviews were positive. The reason I had to return these slippers is because the arch is too high for me. My feet are almost completely flat, so that arch would have killed me. It also made my feet feel as though they were dipping too low at the heel. The orthopedic-like sole is removable but I don't have another one to replace it with. If you do, you'd be able to custom fit these slippers. I wear a 40 Medium. The size was perfect. Just the arch was off for me.

This review is for the Giesswein Ammern Classic. I have two other pairs of Giesswein slippers, the Gretchen and Gerolding, so give this one a try. I ordered a 41 to fit my size 10 - 10.5 feet, the same size as the other pairs I own, but they didn't work out and have been returned. The reason is that the right slipper on the Ammern is a bit too short for my larger right foot and so didn't allow my heel to rest securely on the slipper. On a different note, I discovered that I no longer needed a new pair of slippers having rescued my old pair of Gerolding, a fluffy slip-on that looked tired and ready for the trash. After hand washing and hand drying (using a hair blow dryer) they look and feel like new. Those slippers I highly recommend.

These slippers are ok, but not early as substantial and supportive as other Giesswein slippers.

Moderately comfortable. I don't care for the hard sole.

Not as comfortable as I expected. I think it was the hard sole that made the difference.

This slipper ran a little short as I am a 9 1/2 and the slipper is a ten. After inserting my orthotic, the slippers "leaned" to the left so that I was walking on the sides of my feet.

What I like about the Giesswein slippers generally is the wonderful boiled wool and the quality. However, these run so big! Every brand is different, it's hard to tell what one's "normal" size is, but I generally find myself in 5.5, 6, 6.5. I ordered the 5 and they swim on me. There is no smaller size.

These are very nice slippers w/ extraordinary support for slippers. But I don't recommend for hardwood floors, b/c the rubber comes off the bottom in tiny little pieces, and also there is an annoying squeaking sound they make. If my house was carpet I would have kept them. Kept my feet warm w/o sweating.

I have loved these slippers! I use orthotics in my regular shoes and found that I didn't need to use them in these slippers. The arch is high and comfy. There is an insert that comes out if needed, but it makes the slippers a bit more uncomfortable (right down to the rubber of the sole). The only issue I have is after 3 months of wearing them around my house, one of them has a hole in the toe. I don't have extraordinarily long toe nails either... Such a bummer!! If it weren't for the hole in the toe, I would give these slippers 5 stars.

I will keep these and see how they wear but be aware that these have very little structure to them for slippers at this price. The top halves are nice but the soles look and feel cheap.

I bought these because my podiatrist told me I was not allowed to walk barefoot ever! I've had them for a while now; the biggest disadvantage is that they slide right off my feet. They're also very warm, so not so good in summer. Overall I feel they are overpriced for what they are.

Nice upper materials but the soles have already worn off. I wear them after work and only in the house. The sole is worn down to the wool on both heels. The foot bed inserts come out and it is a good thing as they are hard and not comfortable to wear very long. No ball of foot padding.

These seem to run very big! I ordered a 37 (size 6) though my shoe size is 7-1/2 because I have other Giesswein slippers in size 37 and they fit well. A surprise for sure. But these slippers are larger than the others I have, so I'm returning them. Unfortunately because I like the style.
