This is the third pair of boiled wool slippers I've bought. The same problem every time: they are comfortable and warm and show no other wear -- but after 2 months or so THE TOP OF THE SLIPPER FORMS A HOLE!. Where the big toe is. I tried ordering a size up but it was huge. So here I am again having to sew up these holes, which then wear through again. I can't really sew them that well, so I have to throw away a perfectly great slipper in every other regard :( Can they not reinforce the toe are on these things?!

I was hoping that these slippers would fit, but I had a nagging feeling that they wouldn't quite work. Wow, was that off! Way, way off! These are the most comfortable slippers I have ever owned. My feet are narrow, and I usually get zip when it comes to support - these, however, have incredible arch supports! There is plenty of wiggle room for your toes, and the instep fits snugly (but comfortably) over the top of your foot. I did read in one of the reviews that they ran small, so since I usually wear a 9 1/2, I ordered a 10. Perfect! They also have that rubbery bottom so that they can be worn outside.

Loved for the first 3 months. Nice soft wool; no bulky seams on the inside like other brands. Very warm and comfy, however, after about 3 months of wearing these, I discovered a hole in the toe of one shoe and the seam on the side of the other is coming undone. Very disappointed as these are so expensive. I don't know if they are returnable at this time (now 4 months since purchase) and I need to wear them still, as winter temps just don't want to go away up here in NH!

I love these! Comfort from the minute I slid them on my feet. I have plantar fascia and need to wear slippers with support inside my home. These give me support, are warm but since they are wool, they breath. I am sensitive to wool and these are wonderful. So happy I ordered another pair in a different color.

I really like these. The sole is perfect for around the house with occasional trips up/down the driveway. The warmth is perfect; it's easy to get tempted by big fluffy/furry slippers, but my feet always end up sweating like crazy which only makes them colder. These are nice quality wool and are breathable, so you stay warm and dry. The fit is a little small; I was borderline going to send them back, but they feel better after wearing for a while. There just is not much room to spare. Overall, I really like them. They feel like a Birkenstock with wool instead of leather. Perfect.

I loved these slippers. I thought it was a lot to pay for slippers but I bought them for the arch support and was not disappointed. They are comfortable and I also like the look of them. Fast forward one year later and they have holes in the toes. The material, which I thought was wool, the shoe repair tells me is felt. They are not holding up to the pressure of my toes when I walk. Do not waste your money, they will only last a year, if that.

When shopping for these slippers, one big question dealt with the size. Others warned that they run small. I usually wear a size 9.5 shoe but I ordered these slippers in a size 40, which is said equivalent to a women's size 9. The slippers were a little snug when I first got them, but now, after being worn for a couple of months, they are not snug at all. I'm sure glad I didn't buy a larger size. They are very comfortable slippers with fairly good arch support, but they are not at all stiff, front to back. If you need that kind of support, then these may not be the slippers for you. I do have that problem, and so I can't wear these slippers all day, for instance. But for a couple of hours at a time, they are nice. Very cozy. For a woman's slipper, they are not at all stylish. They look like a man's slipper. But I didn't buy them for their style.

Great slippers - comfortable, supportive and warm. With or without socks. And to soles aren't sticky - they don't bring dry leaves and twigs back into the house if I go out to get the paper. Very attractive blue color.

Rheumatoid arthritis and hard wood floors never go together well. This slipper provides great support for my arches while cushioning my achy feet. They\'re warm, but not too warm. Love them.

I absolutely love these slippers! A comfortable house slipper is the most important to me as I do not wear shoes inside the house. I depend upon supportive slippers that are also easy on feet that have been through a number of surgeries. I was so impressed with them that I immediately ordered a second pair and plan to buy a pair for my daughter.

These slippers have been worn sparingly and primarily on carpeting, but rubber soles are so thin that they did not last. The first pair I purchased (many years ago) lasted for years, so don't know what accounts for the poor quality of the current pair. I will not purchase Giesswein slipper again. Very poor value:cost. I will try Allbirds loungers and hope for better results.

I am very happy with these slippers. At first I didn't want to spend so much money, with nice-looking slippers available for much less, but I liked the fact that they are machine-washable, and that, although made of wool, which I like, they are not supposed to scratch (they don't). Trying them on, I was worried that the heel would flap as I walked, but I got used to that quickly and it is not a big concern. Although I have a tailor's bunion, causing me to usually have to buy a wide width, these fit perfectly in medium, and also fit fine with socks. They are very warm, and I prefer having the warmth over my instep rather than at my heel, since, wanting to be able to step into them easily, I would have to choose one or the other. I think they are very good-looking, although I did cut off the flappy little tags on the sides.

Great house slipper. The wool is not itchy and absorbs sweat nicely. The arch support is superb, my feet do not get tired standing in these all day at home. The bottom has a nice grip to it, no sliding on carpeted stairs. I fit in a size 9 (I wear an 8.5 in most shoes).

These slippers fit the bill for me. Wool (climate controlled, not too hot, not too cold), slip on, low profile and with a non-slip sole. Don't expect arch support. Great for wearing around the house with or without socks. Can even step out to get the paper.

Great slippers. Well constructed and excellent arch support. My only regret is that my size is 9.5 and I ordered 9. The more I wear them the more they are stretching to fit, but probably would have been better off to have gotten size 10.

These are incredibly comfortable and to my mind cool looking. The arch supports help hold the slipper to the foot when walking and there are no seams inside, so the foot is simply enveloped in comfortable, itchless boiled wool that is not too warm but just right. If you have to go outside briefly the sole will keep the slippers from being ruined. My wife has the blue, so we complement each other.

These are fabulous slippers. I love them. There's support, warmth, comfort and good fit. True to size (7).

Great slipper with excellent arch support. Runs true to size but runs a little to large in the toe area. Keeps your feet nice and warm. As always Zappos was fast on delivery.

Softer and more flexible than expected. Feels wonderful. A little wide, like typical house shoe.

I ordered by phone & found all the descriptive features to be truly represented, especially about the non-marking rubber sole.

I literally just unpacked these as the UPS truck is driving away. I love this slipper! I love that they have good arch support (good for a house shoe) and the size is perfect. I am a classic women's size 8. My feet are not wide but "normal". They are perfect with average trouser socks or sport socks. These may be a little snug at the banding if I had supper thick ski socks. I doubt I would need that though since the shoes are boiled wool anyway. I will never buy any other brand ever again! I also love that they can be washed.

I bought these as a gift for my husband and he is very satisfied with them. They were a little tight initially but they stretched a little and are very comfortable now.

Great house slipper.

I bought this for my husband. He's usually a size 10, but they were too small so we got an 11. They are comfortable and keep your feet warm. The only issue that he has with them is that at the beginning, the margin of the upper part is a bit tight, so it is a little harder to get your foot in the shoe. Now it seems to be easier. Overall, they are really nice shoes.

Other reviews said it was not itchy, but I thought it was very itchy to wear. This slipper did not have enough support for me either. Not horrible, but not worth the price either, in my book.
