I have worn this hat on several hiking trips. Definitely protects from the brutal Florida sun. I also like the fact that I can remove the neck shield if I need to. The bright color helps me find my head when I get lost :)

I have been wearing O.R. hats for years. I wear a XXL size hat and have never found another hat that fits and feels this good. The sunshade is detachable and works very well. It really protects the back of my neck while hiking. A favorite bite spot for flies etc. When I am really hot I sometimes run my hat under cold water, then wring it out and put it back on. It dries super fast. These days I fly r.c. helicopters so the Sunrunner hat comes in handy for sun protection. If you have a XXL hat size (or smaller) I think you will find the O.R. Sunrunner the best baseball style cap you have ever worn.

I've spent much of my life outside and the sun is starting to take its toll on me and I need a little extra protection when I'm outdoors. I recently bought this for. 4 day backpacking trip and I loved it. It's my go to for any prolonged sun exposure, it shades the right amount of sun while leaving a good sight window when hiking and you don't over heat when the sun gets cooking.

The positive reviews are spot on, this really is the best hat for the job. Light and functional, shade when you want it, and stands up to the wind when broad brimmed hats won't. I've used it extensively on long runs in high UV settings and I couldn't be more pleased.

Honestly a good looking cap, the sun shade for the back of my neck/head is great. Sizing is perfect, just measure before hand and get the correct size.

It's been really hot here in Hawaii this Summer. Instead of donning the baseball hat/neck gaiter, I decided to give this hat a try. We recently ventured into the ocean (SUP) on a breezy/sunny day and paddled around for 3 hours... The cap protected my neck and cheek areas well. The drape of the hat fluttered in the wind, but it did not bother me much due to the lightweight material. I plan to use this on my hikes and fly-fishing the flats for bonefish.

I use the hat 3-5 times a week for outdoor adventures. Great sun protection, keeps sweat out of my eyes, and isn't hot on those extra hot days. That OR made it in XL is the best. I'm a big headed dude and this fits perfect.

With this hat. I wear it biking, driving, walking, etc for basically full coverage. The front of my neck is sometimes exposed depending on wind etc but it's as great as I'd expect! Highly recommend.

I bought this for my 12yr old son who kept getting burnt no matter how much sun screen he put on while touring. It fits perfect, great wrap, stayed cooled in the middle of the day, almost looks like something out of Star Wars.

I found the adult version of the sunrunner to be too fiddly and fussy with the snaps, Velcro, and drawstring. I bought the children's version of the sunrunner in size large (comparible to a ladies small) and absolutely used it all seasons, from the Canadian Rockies in winter to the Andes in South America. It fits under my climbing helmet and with the Velcro done up shields from the blazing sun, blowing sand and dust, and icy winter winds. Unfortunately someone broke into our vehicle and stole it along with some gear. When I went to buy another sunrunner, the sizing had somehow changed and the children's large was too big, bigger than a ladies small. I ended up buying a children's medium because it seemed to fit similar to the previous large, but the flaps are a bit small and the Velcro rubs. I went looking for another large recently, but it seems to be out of stock everywhere. I love this hat. It's been my go to for years and I'd be sad if it was discontinued. Why do away with such an amazing product?

Bought this for sailing. Keeps the sun off your neck and out of your eyes.

I'm a skin cancer survivor, this hat provides all the face sun protection I had expected.

This is a great all around hat and my go to for hiking and traveling. One excellent characteristic that gets overlooked is the performance in chilly, windy weather. No one will mistake it for a winter hat, but pulling the flaps down and cinching the neck strap go a long way to keep your head and ears out of the wind and from getting cold. I wore it early spring hiking in the Smoky Mountains and when the wind was blowing in the 30s, it took enough edge off to keep me from feeling uncomfortable.

I use this cap in hikes as a sun protection. It works great, very light, breathable and easy to use.

I use this in 110 degree hikes and I like the the brim or bill does not extend too far out, allowing me to see. Snaps are sturdy and the cap is foldable and can fit into a cargo pocket. I like the tie off on the flaps but I which there were snaps a little bit further back so you could snap them out of the way and expose your ears when needed. size ran a little small for me.

This was a gift for my son. He loves the hat, wears it in the pool in the morning for walks and riding his bike. Protects against the sun and he doesn't find it hot.
