Hat is comfortable, breathable, and provides protection.from the sun. However, when in a snow environment, the reflection still requires sunscreen on your face and front of neck.

I'm satisfied with this hat, nice protection against the sun and the fabric is lightweight to run in the summer heat.

Great for hiking and going to use under my bike helmet for a trip this summer. The white is relatively cool in full sun and the material is perfect. Fits well and feels snug.

I had a melanoma removed from my ear 5 years ago. Since then I've been experimenting with all sorts of sun protection hats, while also completing dozens of backpacking trips including the Tour du Mont Blanc. First, I like the idea of not having to slather sunscreen all over, then washing it all off etc. Though this hat will not be fashionable on the streets of Paris, it's a killer tool for protecting your head and neck from the sun. It's also somewhat flexible - you can remove the neck protection, you can cinch it down in the wind, and so on.

This product provides excellent coverage from the sun, is light and airy as well.

Keep the sun off in this light weight cap with cape. Way better than I thought it would be. Neutral color and cord keep it from blowing in the wind

I wore this in the summer heat while land surveying swamps down in Florida. Very lightweight and very breathable.

This hat fits well and does its job. The removable part is a little bit confusing to take on and off, but this is a nice hat.

The California sun is no joke, and this hat is a lifesaver! I used to sweat through all my running caps, but this OR cap wicks away sweat. I was worried that the cap would feel too hot, but I've had no issues on my long runs. Will definitely be purchasing more colors.

Used the hat yesterday 5/14/22 on the Cactus to clouds hike. Hat worked perfectly. This is my 3rd OR hat First cap, I like it. I thought it would retain heat due to using the removable neck gator. Works great for protecting neck from sun exposure.

I use this when I'm running or just out side when my skin issue flares up. It's a game changer as it keeps me from feeling like I'm being burned. When I'm out running in the woods, I need to hear what's going on around me and I'll pull the chin strap over my head and snug it down thus allowing for just enough coverage for my ears by pull the shroud back a bit. So far it seems to be made well and durable. Use it in Death Valley recently and it worked very well!

I run 25-30 miles a week outside in Los Angeles and have found this hat to be the greatest of its kind in avoiding sunburn. It fits securely, the materials are lightweight and soft against the skin. The coverage is a perfect shield against the sun. I feel as if I am under a shady canopy the whole time I'm wearing it, and my vision is not interfered with at all. It's quite nice to run in. The flaps don't get all soaked and sloppy either and theres a toggle on the straps to keep a sturdy locked in fit. I hope they never discontinue this style. Just don't be scared of how ugly it is.

Bought my first over a decade over and the hat still looks virtually brand new. Has held up to many washing machine cycles even. Perfect option for backpacking rather than wide brim sun hats which aren't conducive with brain compartment of pack. Recommend ordering size up if you're head measures at larger end of size range.

You have to realize that it’s very difficult to cover your head and neck with UPF 50 material and also look stylish while doing so. Personally I like the look of this hat even with the neck cape attached, as it harkens back to the eccentric style of the foreign legion hats used by early mountaineers which no doubt inspired the style aesthetic of this exact hat. I also like that I can detach the neck cape and I’m left with a nicely styled baseball cap, still with UPF50 protection and mesh panels to keep my head cool. I’ve worn it mostly for hiking and it has served me well even in high winds, keeping the sun off my neck and keeping me comfortable. I imagine it could also work well for running in the warmer months too and with it’s versatility at this price point; of all the sun hats I looked at, this is the best value for money and it’s comfy too.
