Great hat

I use this as my summer hiking hat. Great protection and keeps its shape well after being folded up.

Really nice hat! Lightweight fabric, strategic design with a brim that doesn't need fussing over and cooling ventilation without sacrificing style. The "pewter" color is a great go-with-everything neutral, dark enough to not show a smudge or two of dirt.

Having had cancer 18 years ago, I was told to avoid sun exposure. It has been difficult for me to find a hat that fits my head. This one fits well and gives me the protection I need. The color is exactly what I want.

I bought this hat for sun protection while hiking and at work. I like the way it breathes keeping my head from feeling hot. I have worn the same style of hat from two other manufactures and Sombriolet has by far the lightest feel on my head of the three. The brim is wide and does its job. I really like it.

I love this hat! It's cool, comfortable, stylish and the colors all work...I chose blue which goes well with denim, and my husband has beige. Outdoor Research is top quality gear.

love the hat works as advertised

A slightly stiffer brim-so it's less likely to bend in windy conditions-would be an improvement. But it's okay in that regard, and excellent in all others.

I wear it out in the sun.wind, and some rain. Its a floppy hat but stays put. Excellent sun protection. I noticed my mailman wearing the same hat.

Outdoor Research Sombriolet Sun Hat. I ordered this in Sand Medium, because it was the only color in that size. The hat arrived well-packed. I put it on my head and it was so light I didn't know it was there! This is one thing I really like about this hat -- how light it feels. Tight hats give me a headache. I like wearing this hat. It is so comfortable. I wear it everyday in the hot sun of Austin, TX. It is a perfect hat for protecting face and neck. I am a woman, 5’ tall, and the medium is a perfect size for me. I haven’t had problems with it feeling too hot, which I did with my previous hat. I like that the hat is washable. Great hat. Great design. It will travel with me!

This is a great hat. Super light and the brim is just the right sized it in the Florida sun. And it floats!

Great hat. It blocks the sun with a wide rim and keeps me cool with its vents. Size is a little smaller than expected. Fairly durable but the light colored fabric stains easily. After a few years of wear there are some stains I can't get out. Over time it gets more floppy but still maintains its shape.
