Each boot was actually a different shade of black. There was a large glue stain on the instep of one boot. The toe of one shoe looked like it had been worn, and scuffed. Extremely disappointed in craftsmanship, particularly for $300 boot. I wouldnt have paid 20 for the quality I received.

I was deciding whether to get Dr. Marten's combat boots or these. I'm so glad I chose these. They're super comfortable and fashionable.

OK so Ill admit, when I first tried these on I was SO disappointed. I was dying to get them and these are the nicest boots I've ever bought. I decided to treat myself to a gorgeous pair of boots during a little shopping spree - and these boots caught my eye. As much as I loved the heeled boots, I'm not really a heel girl and I wanted boots I could wear all the time and would look put together with everything I wore. Luckily, I had seen these exact boots in a store nearby a few weeks ago, and I tried on my normal size (7.5) and they felt SO small, I was confused. So I knew that I had to at LEAST size up a half size. I was hesitant and considered even sizing up a whole entire size because I was so nervous that they wouldn't fit. Fast forward to me receiving my boots. I RAN out of my office and outside to grab the box. I was almost late to a work meeting because I was too busy admiring these boots. They are GORGEOUS. Then....I tried them on. I have "bunyons" (gross word) aka boney feet. They are mostly narrow, but my big toe knuckle bone sticks out a little bit so when I first tried these on (with really thin socks) I was devastated. The rock solid side of the boot smashed into my boney foot and I felt so defeated. I packed them back up and left the box on the counter for the return. Luckily, I took some time to research leather boots on youtube. I discovered what a good size is, how to stretch, the break-in to expect, and I decided to give them a second try. I put on some thicker boots, unlaced them completely and slipped them back on. OH.MY.GOD. They are SO beautiful. I have been wearing them around my house for an hour now and I am absolutely obsessed. They are gorgeous, just...gorgeous. I'm about to buy a few more things to take good care of them (cedar insert to keep their shape, leather conditioner, extra laces) and I couldn't be happier and cant wait to wear them. Moral of the story - if you have boney feet - size up at least a half size, and don't give up on them too quickly. They are worth it!!

These boots are delightful. The pattern is subtle and the leather is so soft. The ankles are a bit narrow so ordering up is a good idea. Wore them for a full work day (I stand and walk a lot) and they were perfectly comfortable right out of the box. They were a bit big at a half size up so I added an insole and now they are absolutely perfect.

I bought these last year. Keep in mind I am 71 years old and I bought my first pair of frye boots when I was in my 40s. It was a pair of Carson boots on sale and I didnt really know what I was buying but when I put those shoes on and could teach school all day wearing them I was a goner. I think I now have every style of Frye boot there is.And I even have several pairs of flats and have found sandals etc. They are so well-made that I finally got my son into a pair of frye boots When he was in college and thats all he wants to wear now. Hes now 34 years old and to him a great Christmas present is a pair of frye boots. My only problem now is that I have so many that I dont have anywhere to put them. During the winter I keep them in boxes with the toes stuffed and I make sure I polish them before I put them up for the summer. Take care of them and they will last you forever. In my opinion they will always be in style. Spot on. I even have the white ones

Comfortable right out of the box, edgy menswear look with a feminine fit. Shaft height and heel height are spot on for a cool vibe with a comfortable wear-all-day fit.

I take a size 7 and these boots ran small, tight and narrow. The toe box was extremely stiff. I would only recommend this boot for someone with a narrow foot.

Three years ago I started to teach elementary school and realized I needed a pair of shoes that were: 1) Comfortable enough that I could stand/walk all day in them. 2) Sturdy enough to withstand winter in NYC. 3) Something a little more professional than a sneaker. These boots met all three of these requirements with flying colors with the bonus that they didn't need to be broken in (first wear was for 8 hours of teaching and 2 hours of travel and not even a whisper of a blister). I'm going on year three of wearing them literally every day of teaching from September to May. I got them resoled a few months ago to freshen them up, so they were nice enough again to wear to a memorial. The laces are just now giving out, which is why I'm back on the Frye website and decided to write this review. These boots are amazing and I highly recommend them - they will last forever.

These are the real deal...meant to last a lifetime. Wore these on two African (photo) safaris for a safari-chic look with dresses and shorts. Super cute with fall dresses and my Gigi Pip hat. Break-in takes a few wearings, but then they fit like a dream. Definitely order 1/2 larger, trust me (read the reviews). The caramel color is my favorite...especially after they get worn in and then polished with wax. Amazing!

I have numerous Frye boots and love them all. I ordered a size 8 and they sent a 7.5. No problem Im thinking they will take them back which they currently are and waived the fee bc its their fault not mine. However, I would call them and not email. The woman was rude & didnt even get my name right Ive never had a customer service problem before with Frye this is the first and it is very disappointing. My advice is just call them they are much more helpful and they actually will get your name right! Just a small suggestion.. The boots on the other are absolutely beautifulmay have considered an exchange if it wasnt for all that!

As a first time Frye shoe buyer I found the shoe to be stiff and a little snug. I attribute this to the leather and requirement to be worn in. I have had the shoe for 7 months and did not wear them every day or consistently since they were painful to wear, but I did need to break them in so I continued to periodically place them in my shoe rotation. They did not last longer than 7 months of inconsistent use before the bottom of the shoe (the rubber bottom), broke off leaving the stitching exposed and an obvious defect visible at the toe of the shoe. Further inspection shows that the rubber is brittle. There are other American Made companies that sell similar shoes for less and that can be used for a longer period of time. I do like the color and the look of the shoe, however I only purchase quality product. This shoe does not meet the quality criteria a consumer should expect from a 200.00 dollar shoe.

I read the reviews and ordered a half size up and it was a perfect fit. The boots are not bulky. They seem more feminine due to the slimmer sole. Not chunky. I could wear these all day from the moment I bought them. Very comfortable. From shorts to jeans to skirts they make everything look cute. I have a bad back and these boots are the answer. They are so pretty and well made, I get compliments every time I wear them. You wont be disappointed. Dont forget to size up 1/2 a size for the narrow footbed.

I purchased a pair of the Veronica Combat boots in January. I havent even had them for 6 months and they have started coming apart at the sole. I contacted customer service where I was told they would not offer a repair or replacement and to find a local cobbler. Very disappointed that spending $300 on boots doesnt warrant any assistance when they fall apart after less than 6 months.

I wanted a boot this style (sleek) for work that includes a commute with a lot of walking (no heel) and this really fit the bill. However, it is extremely narrow and I had to size one full size up from what I normally wear in Frye in order to get the width I need. I couldn't even get my foot into my normal size. So they look a bit big and my heel slides in the back, but I decided to keep them and end the search. The other thing that is weird and disappointing is that the laces are extremely short. By the time you lace it up there's almost nothing left to tie up with. They are otherwise consistent with Frye quality, are beautiful, and beautifully made.

The quality is exactly what you expect from Frye. These boots are beautiful. I sized up a half size to make sure I have room for the width of my foot and I am glad I did.
