I had to return them because they ran small but they are a nice looking boot.

Nice boots. They are a little narrow for my wide feet, and take time to break in. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Sharp looking boot. Great quality as all Frye items. It just didn't fit my foot and I am sorry it didn't. Made up for if by buying a Frye purse and I love it

Ok so I already have these in tan and loved them so much I bought them in black. Really cool looking boot which runs true to size. A true staple to any casual wardrobe. The only thing I don't like about the black pair is the chemical smell. So strong I removed them from my closet and put them out in the garage. Hoping the more I wear them the less they will smell. Really very strong which tired me away a bit.

My first pair of veronica boots were the all black version which I wore almost every single day for two years. These shoes are very comfortable for me and easily break in and form to your foot. I had them re-soled once and by the end of the second year the heel was completely wore down again and the stitching was starting to come out, BUT the shoes took a beating on my part so I was totally satisfied. I'm on my second pair, the distressed version. Like other people have said, the size was totally different for my second pair. I had to return and go one full size up from my last pair. Overall, I love these shoes. You can feel the quality and they are definitely worth it. IF YOU ARE READING THIS, FRYE: I wish that you made these same style boots with open hooks on the top three eyelets because it would be so much easier to take them off and on. Since you have to fully unlace before taking them off, I often end up pulling them off too tightly, stretching the leather out and destroying the lining. Changing the top eyelets to hooks would make these boots easier to use and last longer.

For years I have been buying cheap boots because I felt as nice as Frye boots are they were just too expensive. I've probably bought and thrown away enough cheap boots and shoes to have quite a nice collection of Frye shoes, booties and boots that would last forever. I finally got my head on straight (I kept hearing my son's voice, "buy nice or buy twice") and bought these. I read several reviews that said how snug they are, but stick with it an you won't regret it. Typically I am an 8 or 8 1/2, so I ordered an 8 1/2. When they arrived, immediately I could see, feel and smell the quality leather and craftsmanship. Unfortunately, snug was an understatement and they HURT. So I exchanged for a Size 9 and I've never owned a 9. I have only worn them 3 times and at first they were so stiff I wasn't sure, but the reviews are correct. There is some kind of hocus pocus magic witchcraft fairy dust that turns them into the most comfortable, form fit, well built shoes ever made. I must be one of those people who would benefit from 1/4 sizes in shoes because they might be just a bit too big, but thicker socks and tying the laces more tightly worked just fine. Can't wait to see how long these beauts will last and I'm already looking at more styles to buy! Only 4 stars because of the sizing, but I wish I could give 4.75 stars because they deserve less than a full point deduction for that. Well worth the price for the impeccable quality.

In love with the way these boots look! They are SNUG... but the leather is butter soft and will break in beautifully. These are definitely my new goto. I have been looking for a military boot for ages... these are not too bulky, distressed in the perfect way, and will last! Also in love with the leather laces! Can't wait to break these in!!!

They ran half a size smaller for me, the style is nice, but I don't think they are en par with other Frye boots, maybe that's why even the full price is a little than the rest.

Bought these shoes ~10 months ago, and have worn them almost everyday. I go HARD in my boots, and these have held up about as well as I could expect. I live in the PNW so am constantly slogging through puddles and heavy mud when I am out with my dogs. I also also walk around the city of seattle, and can spend all evening dancing in them. Super comfortable. I am usually a size 8.5/9 in boots, with very VERY skinny feet (AAA, shoes don't normally come under AA). I bought these in a size 9 because i wanted to wear them during winter. I would have been fine with an 8.5. The shoes gave me blisters the first ~8 times I wore them, which was quickly fixed with some mole skin patches. Now, they are perfect and buttery soft. Give these a chance, you won't regret it. They are the perfect mix of functional and feminine. So stylish.

I love this boot! The camel color is beautiful and they are so comfortable. I have a narrow foot and they fit perfect. I did have to go up a 1/2 size. My first pair of Frye's (Molly Button Tall boot) are an 8.5 and I had to order this boot in a 9. The leather is so soft inside I can get by with wearing just a short ankle sock and they feel great. I can see buying more Frye boots in my future.

I've had these boots in the whiskey color for a couple months now and they are wonderful. They definitely need to be broken in and my heels paid the price for a while there, but now they are so comfortable. The burnished heel is so great and I wear them with dresses, jeans, slacks... The tongue on the right shoe has always slid off to the right, but otherwise they're great. I have a wide forefoot and narrower heel. I wear a 7 in Carson flats because of that. I got these in a 6.5 and they've been great. Not cramped at all surprisingly!

I have a slim, thin (top-to-bottom) foot, and I found these too narrow. Had to send them back. Found this to be true of other Frye shoes/boots. But very good quality workmanship, if they fit you!

First off all let me say that I love Frye boots; I have several pair. However, this boot was very stiff and for me uncomfortable. I felt kind of like Herman Munster because I had to lace it up tight so it would not slip; this made it impossible to bend my ankle thus...Herman Munster. The quality is fabulous and the leather smells so good. It may work for you, just not right for me.
I'd also recommend:

This is hands down a beautiful boot, however if you have wide or athletic calves it is, sadly, not worth your money. It's beautifully made, just looks awkward and unattractive hugging my muscular calves. It felt a bit small with thin socks and I could barely get my foot in.

After reading other reviews on size, I was worried. I wear an 11, so I have no where to go if the boot ran small. Out of the box, the boots are snug. But they are made with quality leather which will break in and fit my foot. I made a plan to ease into them but after two wears, they are feeling great. No blisters, no foot or back fatigue. Maybe a little more arch support would be nice. They look great. These boots and I are destined for a lot of good times.

These are snug fitting boots, and at first I thought I would return them because they were too small. However after wearing them for a few minutes, the leather seemed to conform to my feet and they felt less tight. The length is right but the width is a little narrow. I wore them around the house for a few hours and decided that they may just need breaking in. It is also the peak of summer, so my feet are used to the freedom of flip-flops and sandals, combat boots are a big change! This is my first pair of Fryes, and the quality lives up to the reputation. I got a great price from Zappos and upgraded shipping - thanks!

The leather is truly beautiful. The fit is a little off mostly because I really struggled to get them on and off. It's just too hard without the zipper on the side.

This boot fit well in the length but felt a bit narrow. The pattern on the leather is really pretty. I wanted to love them! The leather is unfortunately very stiff, making it very hard to get on, and also not very comfortable to walk in. I have tender feet though, and need the shoe to have soft leather with some flexibility. Noting that in case anyone else is similar.

I take a size 7 and these boots ran small, tight and narrow. The toe box was extremely stiff. I would only recommend this boot for someone with a narrow foot.

I have been trying to break these shoes in for over two years now. They seem like the right size, but something about the construction means I get blisters on my heels and toes every time I wear them. They're great for snow, so I keep them around.
