Someone gave me a card once that said "Wear cool boots...cool boots make you feel like you can handle anything!" And that's why I wear Frye boots - I have 3 pair, so far. I especially love my Veronica Combat boots. They are timeless, edgy, and tough, but the silhouette around the ankle gives them a feminine flair. They look GREAT with skirts, jeans, anything. They fit great and look great! When I put on my Veronica Combats I feel like I can face the day and handle anything that comes my way.

Sharp looking boot. Great quality as all Frye items. It just didn't fit my foot and I am sorry it didn't. Made up for if by buying a Frye purse and I love it

I'm wearing these every chance I get. They are comfy and true to size. They look great with skinny jeans or a short skirt. They are understated cool. I'm so psyched I own them.

I debated for a while about whether or not spending the money for these boots and the brand was worth it; those worries subsided as soon as I opened the box. I could smell the high quality of the letter. The craftsmanship is impeccable; after a short wearing-in period, they fit like a glove and are incredibly comfortable. I would recommend sizing up, as you would with most boots. I am typically an 8.5, and the 9 was perfect. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for, and it is worth it without a doubt. Next time I buy a pair of Frye boots, I will do so with no hesitation.

Favorite boots since I wore combats in high school in the 90s. I bought the lighter color and really enjoyed these boots all fall winter and spring . Warm and comfortable, stylish and classic- not your average seasonal trend . A seriously cool boot , great quality .

My first pair of veronica boots were the all black version which I wore almost every single day for two years. These shoes are very comfortable for me and easily break in and form to your foot. I had them re-soled once and by the end of the second year the heel was completely wore down again and the stitching was starting to come out, BUT the shoes took a beating on my part so I was totally satisfied. I'm on my second pair, the distressed version. Like other people have said, the size was totally different for my second pair. I had to return and go one full size up from my last pair. Overall, I love these shoes. You can feel the quality and they are definitely worth it. IF YOU ARE READING THIS, FRYE: I wish that you made these same style boots with open hooks on the top three eyelets because it would be so much easier to take them off and on. Since you have to fully unlace before taking them off, I often end up pulling them off too tightly, stretching the leather out and destroying the lining. Changing the top eyelets to hooks would make these boots easier to use and last longer.

I bought these boots after lusting after them for about two years. My only regret is having waited so long to get them. They're beautiful, well-made, and comfortable.

I had to order these boots 3 times to finally find a pair that fit (the first 2 times were not through Zappos). The sizing was very off, which was strange because I have ordered many Frye boots. During the winter, I wear these boots all the time! They are super comfortable and are perfect when I want to be casual and warm. I'm very glad I have these and that I finally found a pair that fit!

Great shoes! Lasted me 3 years. Got the soles replaced with a grippier rubber towards the end of year two after wearing them multiple times a week. The laces had to be replaced after about a year. I wish i took better care of the leather as they are just now starting to crack near the toe crease. Definitely recommended, but it would behoove you to take good care of the leather!

These shoes are so stiff and unforgiving! I suspect they will feel great once worn in, but the amount of pain it would take to get there doesn't feel worth it. Even sitting with them on in my apartment hurt. They're beautiful shoes, but I am returning them.

I ordered these in the distressed black. I always order my boots a half size larger and ordered a 7.5. They were way too small. Returned for the 8 and still too small. They also weren't as distressed as they are in the photos. I love Frye, but they seem to be having sizing consistency issues.

For years I have been buying cheap boots because I felt as nice as Frye boots are they were just too expensive. I've probably bought and thrown away enough cheap boots and shoes to have quite a nice collection of Frye shoes, booties and boots that would last forever. I finally got my head on straight (I kept hearing my son's voice, "buy nice or buy twice") and bought these. I read several reviews that said how snug they are, but stick with it an you won't regret it. Typically I am an 8 or 8 1/2, so I ordered an 8 1/2. When they arrived, immediately I could see, feel and smell the quality leather and craftsmanship. Unfortunately, snug was an understatement and they HURT. So I exchanged for a Size 9 and I've never owned a 9. I have only worn them 3 times and at first they were so stiff I wasn't sure, but the reviews are correct. There is some kind of hocus pocus magic witchcraft fairy dust that turns them into the most comfortable, form fit, well built shoes ever made. I must be one of those people who would benefit from 1/4 sizes in shoes because they might be just a bit too big, but thicker socks and tying the laces more tightly worked just fine. Can't wait to see how long these beauts will last and I'm already looking at more styles to buy! Only 4 stars because of the sizing, but I wish I could give 4.75 stars because they deserve less than a full point deduction for that. Well worth the price for the impeccable quality.

In love with the way these boots look! They are SNUG... but the leather is butter soft and will break in beautifully. These are definitely my new goto. I have been looking for a military boot for ages... these are not too bulky, distressed in the perfect way, and will last! Also in love with the leather laces! Can't wait to break these in!!!

Zappos delivered my Veronica combats in record time! Out of the box delight and they molded to my feet immediately. The camel color was a little darker than I expected, but it is a rich beautiful color that must stay. As other reviewers mentioned, the laces appear a little fragile. Overall, an excellent purchase.
I'd also recommend:

They ran half a size smaller for me, the style is nice, but I don't think they are en par with other Frye boots, maybe that's why even the full price is a little than the rest.

This is a good boot. Strap them on and you will feel the fit, see the quality and style. If the style appeals to you, the fit will as well. In my opinion they were not a disappointment and were true to size. The fit was right when I put them on with minimal break in. A welcome addition to my winter lineup.
I'd also recommend:

I bought these in stone wash and then loved them so much that I wanted to get the other brown / congac ombr color but couldn't afford to splurge on another pair at the time. Luckily, my amazing boyfriend bought them for me as an early Christmas present! Beyond excited! These are probably my favorite combat boots. Not only are they comfy, but the leather feels amazing. I ordered a half size up after reading some of the reviews -- plus I like wearing thicker socks or leg warmers with them so I could use some extra room.

Absolutely a great pair of combat boots that can be paired with anything from a dress to your favorite jeans or shorts! The leather is soft and the color contrast of the laces with the whiskey color leather is everything! Comfort is 5 star! Durability is 5 star! Color is 5 star. The fit is true to size as I am always a true size 8 in all of my shoes & boots! I know I will have these for many many many years to come!:)
