I usually wear a size 8 or 8.5 with anything needing socks, but with these Frye boots I went down to a 7.5, and it's perfect.

Perfect from the box. My actual size 8.5 fits w some room for socks. Love it! No problem putting it on or taking off, I think because of its buttery leather! Sooo soft!

These shoes were stiff and uncomfortable!

I have 4 pairs of Frye Veronica boot styles, and the fit of these boots are like most Frye boots for me, meaning I wear a size 8 in other shoes, but in Frye I take an 8.5. They are tight, but with wear *should* break in and mold to my feet. Some Frye boots take only a few hours to break in and become the pair I reach for almost daily (like my Veronica Strap short) and some can take longer, like I feel these will do. The style is simple but ruggedly cute, more feminine looking than Doc Martins. I got the waxed chocolate vintage. They do cut into the insides of both ankles as I wear them in my house, not sure if I will keep them because of this issue.

I wanted to love these but I felt like they were a one dimensional look. They look great with skinny jeans but that was about it. I was looking for a boot that could transition styles, work and play, but these weren't it. For $200+ I need perfect boots, not ones I can only wear with certain outfits.

I'm am extremely disappointed in the quality of Chocolate Veronica combat boots I have received over the last 10 days. I ratings I had to choose for this boot can't be applicable in the case of the Chocolate boots received. I've ordered the same boot twice in search of a decent pair. Both I received should've been rejected from Frye before leaving the factory. The first pair has a right upper shaft sewn twisted to forefoot, and the second pair are total disasters, buckled in forefoot from shaft sewn wrong to entire tongue-forefoot. I'm wondering if Frye uses the same cutting die and fixture for all Veronica boots. maybe an issue exists with production fixture used to sew the boots or it's repetitive operator error over long production run with no quality control working. Zappos looks at the boots they repackage after returns, so they should've definitely seen an issue with the second pair I received. I'm just terribly disappointed. Zappos did send out the second pair wicked fast to try and rectify quality with first pair, so I can't fault that. I'll call customer service first chance, with it being 12-23-2019. FYI, I own this Veronica combat in the black leather size 10, as well. It was and still is amazing. Mist comfortable boot I own. The black fit perfect Christmas of 2018 right out the box no break in period...walked for miles.

Size and fit true but this was a clunkier boot than I expected with little of the style I expect from Frye. They were a for my daughter (20) and she only bothered to try them on bc I wanted to know how they fit.

The inside support/heal felt like it was too small and pinching . And since the material is very hard, I knew it would not give so I exchanged for the next size up, 11. The heal feels better, I can still feel a little stiffness, and now a tad too big in the toes, but I’m keeping them.

These boots are cute and well made, but definitely run small. I normally wear a 9.5 and I could barely fit my foot into the shaft of the boot. Exchanged for a size 10 and I'm very happy. Also I got them on sale but when I wanted to exchange them they weren't on sale anymore, but a great Zappos employee helped me exchange without having to pay any extra, so that's awesome. They are a bit stiff but I suspect they will soften up over time. I do wish they had a zipper because there are so many holes to lace up, but I'm thinking I will just wear them half laced and leave the shaft unlaced.

I'm an 8.5 in most of my shoes, and these too. These feel a little narrow across the top box, but fine on my feet. My heel slips around the back so wearing them on long walks gets irritating unless I lace them very tightly. I might try one of those adhesive inserts in the heel. The look is very classic, not too heavy, but kinda butch. They are very well made. I've had them several months, worn them a lot. I expect I'll be able to wear them many years.

The leather is soft and supple, it only took me about a day to wear them in. I genuinely adore these boots!!!

Beautiful boot. The leather on the chocolate waxed vintage suede was killer cool looking. The style of the boot is both tough & feminine. Nice lines that give the boot a distinctive old world elegance while giving a sturdy can-do vibe at the same time. Unfortunately the sparkles fell away when I tried the boot on. I have several pairs of Frye boots. Size 8M always works, sometimes a bit narrow sometimes not, but all doable. This boot came in on the extreme narrow and small end of the scale. Could barely get my foot in. Once in it was sort of rediculous to go through the lacing process when the boot was all around small, from toe to ankle. I returned the boots and did not reorder as going up a size would make them longer but not change width issue. Decided not to go that route. For those whose foot this boot fits...they are lucky and have a beautiful, functional boot!

Super comfortable right out of the box! Love this boot.

Ordered in my usual size and a half and one full size bigger, just in case. I kept the 1/2 size bigger pair, as they were the most comfortable with six width wise. If you have a narrow foot you should be fine with your regularly size. They are very stylish and well made. I will change out the laces though, as I like to wrap them around instead of lacing up the front like normal. I need about 2 more inches of string to do that. Thank you Zappos customer service for helping me with my return. I ordered a Kodiak boot as well and the quality difference in the leather and materials was so obvious. Frye might have a lifelong customer now. This is the third pair that I love.

These boots are stunning. Beautiful leather, sturdy craftsmanship just like you’d expect from Frye. I’m sending them back because they’re a smidge too long, and I have a few Frye boots, and they only relax over time. I can’t spend almost $300 on boots that will be too big down the road. I’m surprised by all the reviews saying too small...

Fit is very true to size. I don’t understand the other reviews about sizing differences. I purchased the distressed black and they look AMAZING! So cute. The leather is stiff and I’m hoping it will “break in” over time and get more comfortable.

I ordered my regular size and the boot was too small, couldn't get it on comfortably. Definitely considering ordering a size up or ordering two sizes and returning what ever doesn't fit. It does look really nice, as shown in the photos.

The boots are amazing; looks, feels great. True to size.

I still own and wear the Frye Campus L14 that I bought when I was in high school (1971) so I know how well Frye holds up. This makes 16 pairs of Frye boots - it’s quality and dependability that’s I look for when spending this much. The Veronica Combat is no different - soft, laces that are practical and not decorative and comfortable. They felt a smudge short on one foot (but I have a toe issue on that foot) but damn, I’ve worn them every day, all day since they arrived. I used to live in the Veronica Slouch but the combat has quickly replaced them. Excellent footwear and believe me, you may think they’re expensive but for this level of quality and durability, you can’t beat it!
