These boots are so cool looking. Although sporty and a bit chunky, they still don't make your feet look big. Heel gives a little height. What I love is that soles grip even the worst winter ice, so you can walk comfortably. Very flattering. Lots of compliments.

This boot is the best! I took them out of the box, put them on and have worn them every day. Very comfortable, true to size, beautifully crafted. Zappos is a great company. By the time I discovered these, they were out of my size, but Zappos notified me when they got a new shipment. Great boots and great service!

Really like these boots. They have a nice weathered look and the quality is excellent. Very warm and keep my feet dry. Great winter boot with style. Shaft is rather narrow near the ankle.

I love the rugged yet polished look of these boots but I am on the fence about them. I ordered them because several of the reviews said they fit skinny calves. Well, not really. If they were just a half an inch tighter at the top, they would be perfect, but even over jeans they are just a little too loose for me. For reference, I have 14" calves. In addition, the leather does not seem that great for the price. I should have learned my lesson with the short version of these boots in regard to the leather quality. They just do not look as high quality as the price should warrant. I cannot vouch for the comfort because I have not really worn them. I sometimes wear a 10, sometime a 9½, but always a 9½ in this brand.

Beautiful! Everything I wanted in a boot. I purchased the black suede which is deep dark black, gorgeous, supple. I also have the Carolina boot and the foot part fits exactly the same. I love the look of the sole of the shoe. Feels secure when walking in the rain. And it has some flexibility so walking is comfortable. I have the size 7 which is my usual size. I am really a size 6 1/2 in length but my foot is a little wide. It has room and I can wear thick or thin socks just fine. My calf is 14 1/2 in diameter. I was able to zip it up but definitely too tight. Will take it to the shoe repair store to get it stretched. Keeping the boot because I love everything about it. I started looking for a knee high boot last fall and after many purchases and returns, this is the one! I'm ready for the rain!

Absolute best boots ever! These boots are so unbelievably comfortable. They look great and are great in the snow. The snow never sticks to them or makes wet lines on the boots. I ordered my exact size and they are perfect. I had ordered this pair and another brand from Zappos and I liked the look of them both. The other was less. But, I wore the cheaper brand around the house and after 10 minutes my feet were hurting. I sent them back and kept these even though they were more expensive. I can wear them ALL DAY and my feet and back never bother me. They are worth every dollar extra I spent.

I tried 5 pair of boots and these were, by far, the most comfortable pair. Love the look of the leather, support is good. I'm a 15.5 circumference and these are too tight so I'm having them stretched because they are too good to give up. Luxury on the feet.

The best shopping experience ever. Best shoe selection! My mom could never find shoes/boots her size since she has big/wide shoes and we found not just the wide sizes, but beautiful shoes! The purchase selection was easy, the shipping was on time, the returns of extra that she ordered were very easy (and free!). Walked all day in freezing weather in these boots and my feet didn't hurt at all. The leather is so soft and luxurious. Felt a bit big but as I had no time to exchange them before my trip I kept them and they served me well. I wear them all the time now when it's cold.

I have never spent money on boots but these are amazing!! So comfortable and very well made! I know I'll have these for a long Time!! Love them!

I never write reviews, but I wanted to write in to defend these boots. I was lucky enough to pick them up heavily discounted two winters ago and have been loving them ever since. They are my favorite shoes of any season and I found myself waiting this fall for it to be cold enough to wear them. They are made with the same craftsmanship of all La Canadienne boots (I have three pairs of La Canadienne boots, all over three years old, and none of them have ever leaked). They are super comfortable even for my funny feet (I have a high arch, a wide toe box, and narrow heel and calves) and let me walk miles through Philly at a time. By the way - I love that La Canadienne boots come in different widths and fit those with average to narrow calves (so many other brands seem ridiculously wide and left cold air in). In these, my feet and legs are always happy and warm, even through soaking rains, deep puddles, and the endless snow piles of last winter. While these are the most causal, clunkiest, and heaviest pair I own, they don't look like "snow" boots and the lug heel has held up against the iciest sidewalks. I did have them cleaned after last winter, but they once again look like new. Now if only I can find dressier black pair that do half as well.

This is easily the best boot purchase that I have made in many years. These boots are amazingly comfortable, warm, waterproof and on top of it, they look great. I am considering buying another pair in brown. I usually wear a 10½W but the 11M fits perfectly, without feeling too long or too narrow.

I have never written a review before, but love these boots so much I felt I had to let others know. I bought these boots a year ago for winters in New York City because I was tired of my clunky, heavy snow boots commuting back and forth to work. They are so comfortable, warm, and completely waterproof. What is as important, though, is how fashionable they are - nice enough for me to abandon my other, more expensive, less comfortable boots for walks around the city on the weekends. I am thrilled with this purchase, and would definitely look to by La Canadienne boots again in the future.

I loved these boots, I looked at them on-line for a long time then they got here. They were a beautiful brown, even better than the photos, a bit darker than the photos. I am too short to pull them off. I'm just under 5'3. These boots came up too high on my leg and the heel was too low. The overall look was somewhat "Lord of the Rings." I really wanted them to work but they are for a taller person or, a person with longer legs. Oh well. I had to return them.

After trying 6 waterproof boots with similar styling - thank you, Zappos - these are the winners! Love these boots. The fit is true to size, shank height is perfect (I'm 5'9") and there is room for a slim legging inside the boot. It is the perfect combination of fashion and practicality.

Love these boots! So happy with them. A little pricey, but they are worth it. Soft, beautiful leather. I have calves that are normal, and these are a little tight to zip with jeans tucked in, but I can get them zipped. They look great without too much decoration.

I bought these after looking for a casual black riding style boot and finding nothing I liked! Thanks to Zappos free shipping I took a chance and kept these babies! I have a wider foot and larger calf and had no problem with support and was able to tuck my skinny jeans into them with no problem. The first few wears they were a bit tight, but they loosened up nicely. They are very warm, almost too warm for Florida, but I was happy to have them in Colorado during a ski trip. They stood up well to the snow and kept me toasty. I ordered the black suede (B width). Usually wear a 9 and that's what I ordered. I think they certainly have a nicely worn look to them, but I tend to like that look with this particular style. I really like this brand and find them similar to Aquatalia for comfort. They are pricey, but if you have a hard time finding shoes that are supportive and that you can wear all day then I would recommend these.

Nice quality as usual with La Canadienne but too tight around my calf. I have an other pair of Caleb in brown suede which feet very well.

I know it's June and I don't need these now. BUT, I had a hard time finding waterproof boots with good traction this winter (which was awful in NYC). I have sandals from La Canadienne and checked to see if they are still being made -- no. The boots called my name and these were greatly reduced so I ordered them thinking I could send them back if they didn't work. They are keepers -- I got the nubuck which is soft and comfy. I ordered my usual size 8 and might be fine with a 7.5 but I want to wear socks and tuck in skinny jeans. I have an old pair of La Canadienne boots which finally need to be replaced after 8 years! I don't know if they'll last as long as my others but knowing the quality of this company I'm sure they'll be great.

These are the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. They are beautiful too. The size is perfect. Because the leather is suede, I hope the ankle doesn't stretch too much.

I LOVE these boots! I have owned these boots in Chocolate Brown suede for years and they not only still look great but have made it through numerous Chicago winters (through snow banks and huge puddles of slush!) and have still held up strong. They are super comfortable for wearing an entire day and only look better with age. I cannot recommend these boots enough and am back shopping for a second pair!

This boot is warm, comfortable, and, as far as I can tell so far, waterproof. It has been the perfect footwear for the cold, wet winter we are having. Expensive, but worth it for a boot I have been wearing every single day!

I love this boot! I bought the black last year, and have to had the brown. Very weather proof and comfortable. I wear to work - as I travel a ton!
