These only lasted three years. I love the style and the comfort. Yet what a disappointment when my cobbler announced he could not do anything for them. The sole has split in two. At this price I think these boots should last longer.

These are attractive, comfortable and very warm boots (for a NYC winter). I find them a bit clunky, and the excess stiff leather around the ankles rubs, but maybe after a winter of wear, they'll soften. I am a solid 6.5, and with thick socks on, they're still pretty roomy. I still wouldn't buy a .5 size smaller. My one issue I have with them is the extreme price tag on these boots, they should be waterproof for the sole reason that they advertise they are waterproof. Water leaks through the zipper, so you will end up with wet inner calves and ankles (I also think the zipper feels cheap compared to my other few pairs of boots). If you're buying them because you like them, that's one thing, but if you're buying them because they're waterproof, look elsewhere.

I was hesitant about buying these boots due to their cost, but after trying on at least 6 other brands (thank you Zappos for free shipping!)- La Canadienne won. These boots are warm and comfortable as well as waterproof - already tested walking home on a snowy wet day - they did awesome! Construction and materials seem solid so that helps justify the price tag as well as the fact that they look good with dresses and pants. Hope this helps.

Love La Canadienne boots but normally buy something a little more dressy. I needed a casual boot and decided to try this one. Excellent fit, very comfortable and I have received a number of compliments about the boot. The little lug sole is sweet and the boot is versatile, can dress it up or great with jeans. And of course the boots are waterproof, always a plus.

I love this boot. Perfect for days opening cattle gates in west TX. Dust makes the suede look even more rugged. Too bad they don't come in black suede. Only drawback is no arch support, and my foot slides around a little unless I wear cotton footies. Buckle hurts when I cross my legs but that does happen much anyway. Great tread. I'm getting black for evenings.

After several orders and returns of other boots/brands (thank you Zappos for lightening fast returns) I am so happy to have these boots. They have ample wiggle room in the toe box for my size 7 medium-width feet, yet my very narrow heels do not slip. There's enough room to wear thicker socks when the weather is colder. I can tell that the smooth, sturdy leather will hold up to lots of wear. So comfortable with no breaking-in time necessary. These are my new favorite boots! Thanks, Zappos!

Got these in Stone Oiled Suede. I have Frye harnesses but those shoes are a bit too rough on my feet, so I wanted something softer. And these were the answer! Comfy out of the box, just like my other 2 pairs of La Canadiennes. They are pricey but well made and good for my chicken calves and wide feet. Look great over skinny jeans. Not too rugged, can be dressed up and down.

After desperately looking unsuccessfully for fashionable boots for my hard to fit size 12 foot, I found La Canadienne. The day they arrived, I reluctantly removed them from the box, fearful I would face the same disappointment of an improper fit again. However my fear was unwarranted. The boots fit true to size, and the toe box was ample for my painful neuromas. These boots are a rich, neutral color and look great with jeans. The adjustable buckle at the top is a nice feature. I am used to having to pay premium prices for my shoes, but these boots were worth it for me. I liked the fit so much, that I ordered a second pair of La Canadienne in a different style in black. Thank you Zappos, for your exemplary customer service! Do not ever leave me!

This is my second pair of La Canadienne boots. The first that I purchased five years ago still looks as great as the day I bought them, and I've put some miles on them! This boot has the same high quality craftsmanship, waterproof, is immediately comfortable, and accommodates my high instep. I appreciate that the leg/calf portion of the boot hugs the leg and top of my calf, not baggy like some. FABULOUS!

These boots feel great and are stylish. They fit true to size leaving enough room for a pair of socks and still fit very comfortably. I have received many compliments on how cute they look with jeans tucked in.

I absolutely love these boots. They are true to size and excellent arch support (coming from someone with feet problems). My feet don't feel tired at all after wearing these. The only thing is I wish Zappos carried the black ones - I've seen them. I know they come in black suede. Very high quality and well worth the splurge!

I had been eyeing Frye's Veronica Slouch for some time and was looking for a black pair of riding/motorcycle-esque boots. These boots are high quality and well made. I live in San Francisco so can wear boots throughout the year and these are good to walk in. It's nice that they're waterproofed. I'm a size 8 but feel that the boot looks kind of big so perhaps I should have gotten a 7.5. My calves are about 15 around and they fit fine. Good sole as well!

These are beautiful boots with no arch support. The calves are very slim fitting. I love the boot; however, I will not be able to zip them up over a pair of slim fitting jeans. I'm a cyclist so my calves are not real thin but not huge either. Going to exchange them for the Carla which is an inch wider on top and does not have the buckle detail on top, which is very attractive but is uncomfortable when I cross my legs. Also going to get orthotic inserts to go with as the footbed is not comfortable either. The rest of the boot is great, the lining is excellent, the tread is fantastic for snow and ice in Northern WI winters and the lug heel with the suede are the selling point. Too bad the insoles aren't more comfortable for the price of this boot.

I love theset boots! I have narrow feet, and these run a little wide. I tried going down half a size, but then my toes hit the end. So I would say they run true to size but are wide. Just like the other reviewer, I get compliments on them every time I wear them. Super comfy, stylish, and practical.

After less than two seasons of wear, the zippers began to come apart from the seams and the trim on both heels peeled away from shoe. I alerted Le Canadienne. Their response: "The Caleb boot although waterproof has a leather wrap around the heel that when wet with time could peel. It is not considered a manufacturers defect when this occurs after over 1 year. At this time, we suggest that your local cobbler repair them for you." If you can't get an expensive waterproof winter boot wet without it falling apart, what's the point? Too bad, because I loved this boot. But I won't buy Le Canadienne again.

These boots were cute but they lasted less than 2 seasons for me. The leather wore right through. I've never had that happen to any shoes before. I contacted the company and emailed then photos. The company said they only stand by their product for 6 months. I would not buy this brand again - very expensive for very poor quality.

I love these boots. I really wanted lug soled boots and winterized ones are not easy to find. They look great with jeans and they are comfortable.

These boots are gorgeous! The leather is supple and rich too. They are also super comfy right out of the box! I ordered a half size smaller because this brand runs big on me. They are pricey, but I bought a pair 4 years ago, and they hold up great in our sloppy Midwest winters. I loved the black so much, I order the brown suede too! Go La Canadienne!

Wow, do I love these boots. Put them on this morning just to try them on and ended up coordinating my outfit around them. Wore them all day (day 1) -- walked a good several miles downtown -- and they were still super comfortable when I got home 10 hours later. These boots look good and feel great!

Color is lighter than shown and boot runs a little big so order a half size down. Very nice boots but I'm not sure they're warm enough for NY winters.

Great look and fit right out of the box. The buckles are noticeable but not over-the-top biker style. Beware if you've got thick calves- the shaft zips up pretty snugly. Great sole for the winter. Highly recommend!

I just tried them on and am totally in love with these boots! They fit perfectly, and just enough room inside to wear thicker socks. The leather is beautiful and appears to be durable as well. This is likely going to be my favorite comfortable/versatile boot of all that I own so far. They provide great traction as well, which is a very important aspect of boots for New England weather.

I love these boots! They are so comfortable. They are also very tansitional. They look good casual and a little more dressy. I thought it was a waste to buy so late in the year but I've worn them a lot already. The color is also really nice. They are a taupey brown so they go with many colors.
