I'm a high heel girl but had to have these boots. I ordered my true size (7.5) in the bitter chocolate. They are beautiful. The leather is a dark warm brown color and the suede is dark brown/burgundy. The fit is tight, and like others can only wear them with a thin sock. I tried them on with thin cotton socks and the toe area was pulled tight when putting my foot in the boot. Perhaps a thin slippery type of sock would be better. I have thin bony feet that are not wide in the slightest and feel tightness in the bunion area. Because these are leather, they will stretch some and will conform to my feet. If you are debating on what size to order, start with your true size. The snug fit feels secure on your feet. If you need more comfort room and wish to wear heavier socks then go up 1/2 size. Think of pumps, if they're too loose, then your feet slide out of them. If that is the fit you can accept, then order your true size. If not, size up 1/2 size. I hope this review helps.

All I can say is BUY THEM. I've had strangers stop me every single time I've worn them to compliment me. Comfortable, high quality, walked several miles in them today and no problems. Ordered up a half size for a little more wiggle room and thick sock potential.

Wow...awesomeboots that scream quality and class. I usually wear a size 10 in shoes but I have very narrow feet, so sometimes I need a 9.5 in dress shoes and boots. However, I went with the recommendation of other reviewers, and ordered my normal size (10). The 10 fits great; a little loose in the heel, but nothing that a thicker sock can't fix. Overall, quite comfortable (cushioned insole!), and they look amazing. I have thin calves and have always had trouble finding boots that don't look like big barrels on my legs. With these boots, I am able to adjust them so that they fit perfectly on my calves! Awesome! Within my first hour of wearing them outside of the house, I got the biggest compliment ever from a stranger. I knew they looked good, but jeez, wasn't expecting that. The quality and workmanship are great, as well. I couldn't be more pleased with these boots. If you are debating on whether or not to buy these (like I did for a month), stop debating and just go for it. If they don't work out, just return them! I think you'll be impressed.

Scuffs easily and the shaft is thin so it doesn't stand up by itself. The adjustment buckle is kind of a joke, because the tightest setting is impossible, and I have a skinny leg. Needs your own Dr. Scholls, but the sole is great, and the color looks awesome

Perfect boot for a hard to fit foot! I wear 8.5 wide and I need a low heel and comfort. This boot is beautiful! I got black and I wear to work with dresses for retail sales. I stand all day and these are very comfortable. The calf is adjustable as well. Great product, highly recommended. I bought and returned many other brands before finding these. Thanks Zappo!

These boots are gorgeous, high quality and very comfortable. I hesitated to buy them because I have a 15 inch calf, and these are listed at 14.25 inches. However, they fit me like a glove, even over jeans.

Beautiful boot! Had to return though. I ordered a wide and still too narrow for my foot. I have a 16 inch calf and couldn't zip them up either...bummed, 3rd boot and still searching!

Zappos delivered on time as promised. Packaged securely and the boots arrived in pristine order. I shopped for boots on different internet sites and loved how user-friendly Zappos site is and it shows they are out to please the customer. They step outside the box by providing additional services other companies do not such as ratings and comments about products. That pushed my purchase. the boots fit 100% percent as described. I wear 8 1/2, they are a perfect fit with SmartWool socks or thin socks :)! Love them! So do other people that ask where I got them. :)

These boots are incredible. I wore them on a recent trip to San Francisco, and I walked everywhere with no blisters, no soreness, no discomfort whatsoever. I was astonished by how comfortable they were with no break-in time. I cannot overstate how impressed I am by these boots. I only wish I had them in every color. They run a half size small.

Plain and simple, this is a great boot. Very handsome, goes with everything -- dresses, jeans, casual, a step up -- I threw in some gel insoles and they are extremely comfortable. I feel great in them. My other favorite quality? The slim calf. I have large feet (10) but very narrow runner's calves, and these fit perfectly. 5 stars. Great price for this kind of quality!

I always get at least one compliment when I wear these classy boots. There are different textures and stitching to add interest, and the color catches your eye. I have hard to fit size 11 feet with bunions and these boots are comfortable for an afternoon of shopping or errands. They are warm enough for this mild snow-less Wisconsin winter.

I normally wear size 7 1/2 in shoes, however when I ordered this size it felt very snug. I ordered the size 8 and it is a great fit. Roomy. This is my first time to order from Zappos and it has been one of the best online shopping experiences I have ever had. I would strongly recommend them. It has been very pleasant.

I ordered these boots based on their appearance in the pictures and the other reviews that are posted on this website. I love them. I've worn them quite a bit in the few weeks that I've had them & they are so comfortable. I probably have an average calf and these fit with no problem, even over skinny jeans. They look great and you can walk around in them all day in comfort. I highly recommend them.

Boots are exactly as pictured. They were a tiny bit tight the first wearing but after that were very comfy. The adjustable upper buckle is great especially if you have a narrower calf. I'm 5'9 and thin. It hard to find boots with a slim silhouette. Wouldn't recommend them for someone with a wide calf. They are my favorite everyday boot.

Boots were exactly as I expected. I am returning them however, as my heel slid all over as I walked. I'm sad about this, as every where else fit perfectly! I especially liked the tread, as I am in snow all winter.

I have these in brown, and it is almost more of a taupe, which is fantastic because it goes with everything. I like the finish on the leather, too. These are great casual boots with a flair. The fit is fantastic, and they are very comfortable.

This was the first boot I have bought online, I have a wide foot and was wary, but the boot is perfect! I ordered a wide, suggested by other reviewers, and it fit great. Have already had coworkers asking where I got them!

Wonderful boots. I am a teacher, so I stand/walk in them for hours at a time, and they are completely comfortable. The material is soft and the soles are supportive. They are easy to dress up or wear with casual clothes. Added bonus: I get compliments on them on a regular basis. I have plenty of boots (Aldo, Merrell, Steve Madden), and these are by far my favorites.

Gorgeous boots! All the other reviews sold me on these and everyone was right. Love them! Definitely do not size down. 99% of the time I am an 8.5 and that is true for these as well. They were a little more snug than I thought they'd be and I would also say you need a thin sock. I have narrow feet and these are snug. I've been walking around in them for an hour and can see them loosening a bit, although I don't mind the snug fit. The shaft is a soft leather and lacks structure but the boots do not sag at all. I ordered the burgundy and they are the color as shown. Not really a burgundy but more of a soft brown.

These boots look a lot cooler in person! A perfect true-to-size 8B. Very well made. Smooth inside zipper. Very flattering.

These boots are beautiful. Timberland boots tend to run too narrow for me so I was hesitant to buy these but I ordered 1/2 size up as others indicated and they fit great; my normal size would've been too tight to wear with medium socks. They were a just a little snug in the toe box when I first put them on but 2 hours later they fit like a glove. The footbed is so comfortable I wore them out of the box and they're loose enough in the ankle area to tuck non-skinny jeans into which is a plus. They also fit my calves just right without being tight. If they continue to impress me I may buy a brown pair as well and finally end my boot hunt!

I love these boots. So cute. I mostly wear them with skirts and dresses, but they are great with pants and jeans, too. I ordered both the 7 1/2 and the 8. Sort of agonized over which size to keep. The 7 1/2 was slightly small in the toes, and the 8 was slightly large in the heel. Eventually, I chose the 8...mostly because I could wear them immediately. I was afraid the 7 1/2 would require a break-in period. In the end, I'm very happy with these cute boots.

Awesome boots, quality definitely lives up to the price, but I will say it might not be the best choice if you have wide feet. I have super narrow feet and I had to returned my first pair to go up half a size, for both length and width.

I love these boots! Very comfortable. Most boots are too large in the calf area for me - these are slender and look great - not sloppy! Sporty boot looks great with jeans/casual pants!
