These are great snow boots. Comfortable, warm, and waterproof. They have a lot of cushioning; I could walk around town in them all day. I was hoping that they would double as cute boots to wear in any weather, but honestly I'd only wear them in the snow or rain. The lining makes them so thick that they don't really conform to the calf (they stick out at the top), and the ankle is huge. The waterproofing on the leather makes it kind of look like rubber--like firemen's boots. They're cuter than most snow boots, but they're not very stylish. I would really only wear them in the snow.

Great boot for fall/winter weather. It's comfortable, warm and not ugly. My only complaint is that the boot tends to wrinkle around ankles causing mild discomfort and an unsightly appearance.

I absolutely love the style of these boots and they are super comfortable, but my main problem with them is that they are not truly waterproof. I got them for the snowy winters here in Chicago (I am on my second pair in the last 3 years), but my socks often end up wet if I spend too much time outside. They look great with skinny jeans or dresses, and I even wear them to work, but I rely on other boots when I know I'll be trekking through lots of snow.

I bought these shoes before a business trip to Northern Sweden -- I wanted something comfortable, waterproof, and respectable enough for work wear. They were perfect! I wore them the entire week without feeling uncomfortable or getting any "new shoes" blisters, and the lining and waterproofing kept me warm and dry. They are still a little bit informal, which works for my casual work environment, but something a little less sporty feeling would be my idea. However, I get lots of compliments on them and all in all, they look good.

I was able to wear these for long periods of time, walking on city concrete, right out of the box. I added some arch support, but over these boots are wonderful. Would buy again.

These are beautiful boots and exactly what I was looking for in a classy waterproof boot at a reasonable price point. However, I have athletic calves from running and the circumference was just a bit too small. One more note to fellow shoppers: Please be thoughtful and neatly repack the shoes you are returning with the protective materials provided, zip the boots, and place them back in the box the same way you would like to receive a new pair of shoes or boots. Thanks.

These boots are great for walking, and I've walked miles in them! They're lightweight, but provide plenty of support, and keep my feet warm and dry.

Beautiful boot made of quality material. It's too bad the calf doesn't fit my athletic/chubby calf. It would be nice if they could make a wide calf version of this boot. I'm such a Merrell fan. However, the footbed is a little tight and I would recommend to order a 1/2 size up.

Great warm dress boots. I wanted a dressy, warm boot with good traction that fit my narrow feet. Yes! Can wear them with pants tucked in or left out, but I mostly wear them with skirts. Great for attending dressier events in the Alaskan winter and I find excuses to wear them more often. I have very narrow feet and slender calves. I was concerned they'd be too wide but they are good in the foot and comfortably roomy in the calves. I tried on many boots before I bought these and spent more than I planned, no regrets - they will last a long time. Agree that they are not totally waterproof, but the leather can be treated, which I've not done yet (got them last January). They don't breathe well (partly because they are tall), so a bit sweaty - which is amazing because my feet never sweat - but they are warm and cute and fit without being sloppy. And I get compliments! I like to wear them with Smartwool socks with my long underwear covering my legs. A bit higher heel than I normally like but have been comfy to drive and walk in. I would not expect them to keep me warm standing around outside. I have -70 Baffin boots for that.

These are fantastic boots--both cute and comfortable enough to walk to work in. My only complaint is that the rubber around the toe is starting to come apart after just a couple of months of moderate use.

The boots are comfortable and a bit stylish. The size was accurate and the calf width was good. However, these cute boots are not the least bit waterproof. I tried to avoid most puddles, but even the least bit of water left my feet wet and cold. These boots are not good for wet cold days.

Too bad that this boot was too small in the calves. I bought the Tetra Launch instead which fits well.

Every Merrell I've ever owned provided heavenly foot bed and arch fit, until now. Tight through the ankle too - will be trying another size.

Cute and practical! But have to send back. Usually wear a 7, ordered a 7, too tight in the toe box and near the ankle bone...the quest continues for the perfect boot.

I'm surprised by all the great reviews here! I bought the boots after reading so may good reviews (albeit some negative just like what happened to me). The boots looked great online (and in person) and seem like a perfect boot for everything, pants, dresses, etc. When I got them, I had my regular boot socks on and tried them - they were so tight in the ankle and calf! I wear an 8.5 in everything, sometimes an 8, I'm 139 lbs, 5'6", I never have issues with any boot fitting too tight in the calf and I have many. I am so disappointed! They fit nice around the foot (like my other Merrell shoes), very comfortable. But when you walk, the ankle has a groove that as you bend your heel it jabs you in the front, so hard to explain. Also the calf area was so tight, I took off the socks and it was the same. These boots wouldn't fit over jeans or leggings. They might be okay for wearing under your pants or with a skirt, if you have the skinniest calves in the world. Again, I wanted to love these boots. I will repost in other sites, because in my research about half the people had this complaint. A very sad return.

Disappointing...These boots looked like cheap rubber tires. Worse, was they were too narrow in the ankle part. Returning them ASAP.

Stylish and comfortable boots, but the zipper has already broken after only a few weeks of regular wear. I expect much better quality from Merrell and will be contacting Zappos to ask them to replace or refund.

I tried these on the store in a half size up from my usual size, but they were tight around the ankle. I ordered up a whole size online, but they were still extremely tight around the ankle. I could barely get them zipped. I do not have very large ankles, so I can't explain why they were so tight. I tried them on wearing skinny jeans, so it was not a lot of fabric. Maybe if you just want to wear tights or leggings with them, they'd be ok, but I had to send mine back.
