I so wanted to like these, but I'll be returning them. The main reason is that my heel slips out with every step; they are like flip-flops or mules, which I do not like. I have neutral pronation and need good arch support. These shoes are fairly comfortable, but they slightly shift my pronation to the outsides of my feet, which made my knees and lower back feel a bit strained. They were nicely warm. I wear an 8.5 in most shoes and I ordered the 8.5, and the fit was good. I could go barefoot or wear thin socks. I would have needed a 9 to wear thick socks. The quality looked good, but the suede looked like it would stain and show wear easy.

They've changed the design and they are too narrow for my feet now. Had to return. Still have my old pair from several years ago, you can see the difference in width by comparing.

I would have given it five stars but the inner liner slips out of place. The liner becomes bumpy in the shoe I have to take the shoe off and smooth out the liner. I wish that the liner was glued in so this was not an ongoing issue.

Normally love this shoe. Needed new ones and these do not secure the heel like my old ones. Heel comes up when I walk.

I did not like this shoe at all. First, it was almost painful on my foot despite the fuzzy lining. The sole was hard and narrow enough that the ball of my foot felt like it was lapping over a kind of sharp edge. I could barely take two steps before I took them off. And the fuzzy lining was cheap, shiny synthetic and did not feel soft and cozy...almost crunchy? I was looking for a comfortable waterproof slip on. Still looking. Zappos did make it very easy to return, even when I lost the return label that came in the box.

The photo of this shoe is misleading. It looks very soft and flexible. Even though the shoe was very comfortable, it feels more like a boot. I was looking for something a little less clunky to wear to work. This is really an outdoor or cold, rainy weather shoe. It's heavy, stiff and not very flexible. I love Merrell's, but this particular shoe did not work for me.

For me, Merrell shoes are just not as comfortable as Keen. I wanted to love these but they are only so-so and by the end of the day, I feel like I'm lugging around bricks. The shearling lining is great, 'tho, for cool/cold days in WI.

Really felt wide and my foot did not stay in the heel when I walked. Well constructed, but not very cute. Had to return it.

Apre's-ski? This is the look. For anything more feminine, not so great. They look really wide in the toe like a kid's shoe. As to the comfort, very slipper-like. On me they actually slip off since the heel is low. Great for really cold weather, otherwise too hot. I'm returning them.

The shoe is great, however sizing is not accurate. I wear 8 1/2 way too big. I exchanged for 8 and still to big. Will order 7 1/2. Hope it fits.

It was just too much shoe for me. Wider width and felt like a house slipper--too casual.

I like these shoes a lot but will have to return for a half size smaller. I have a narrow and long foot which makes it difficult to guess what size I'll really need. I typically need a half size smaller than usual in a regular width shoe. I attempted that this time and will be returning for a full size smaller. Overall I can see how this shoe will be my go to all winter long!

Shoe was tight especially across the ball of the foot. Very little to no arch support and I could not put even a 3/4 orthotic in it. Given the other reviews, I was very disappointed. They have to go back.

I love the Merrell Encore line of shoes. I usually wear size 7.5 and I bought size 8.5 so I could wear them with heavy socks. As it turns out the fit of both shoes was not equal and the right shoe was very tight with normal socks. I have returned them.

I have worn the Encore Chill and the Encore Groove and was very happy with both designs. I felt that this shoe had absolutely no arch support. A thin flat piece of fur lined paper. Under that was a flat shoe.

These clogs started out great but the pad has bunched up after only a few wearing. Very disappointed

I am very, very disappointed with these shoes. I can feel the sole of the shoe through the very skimpy, thin insole. The sole has holes in it and frankly, this makes my feet hurt. I purchased these shoes because of the reputation the Merrell has for being great shoes for people on their feet all of the time.

Have owned several pairs of this shoe in the past and was always happy with the fit. This years model (2012-2013) is not cut the same. Overall not deep enough to accommodate an orthotic and is tight across the front. Hope they change it back next time.

I've had a pair of these shoes forever and since they started making them. For some sad reason, they changed it. The back of the heel is too low now and causes the foot to slip out continuously. Very sad to see Merrell going downhill, the last several pairs of Merrells that I've purchased have all been returned due to being a bad fit. Think I'm done with this brand.
