I have two pairs of this shoe, one brown and one black. They have a firm fit and feel like they are tightly tied. However, they can be stepped into and easily removed. I recommend them to anyone wanting a comfortable, informal shoe.

Extremely comfortable shoes! I work in health care and suffer from a long-term case of plantar fasciitis. I've tried all different types of running shoes but nothing worked until I got these. My heel pain is much less since wearing these at work. I highly recommend these shoes. Of course, Zappos' customer service is second to none..."Powered by Service" could not be more accurate!

I bought these for my husband, to replace an identical pair that he has had for years and worn out. He loves them and wears them inside the house, and out! They fit him like a second skin and help ease his chronic foot pain. I hope they still sell them when this pair wears out!

The Merrell Encore Gust is an excellent product. I have tried several other brands of clogs, but none came close to the Gust. I have arthritis in both feet and recently had to have the joint at the base of my right big toe fused. Now that I am back to wearing my clogs, I find them to be the most comfortable of any of my shoes. I now wear them every day and will continue to do so. They provide the comfort and support that I need. I have three pair, so I can alternate them and not wear the same pair every day. To keep the leather supple and soft, an application of Kiwi Leather Lotion (or similar product) followed by buffing with a good shoe brush will keep them in good order. The insoles can easily be changed out for orthotics, or any other cushion-type insole. Thick cushion sole socks provide additional comfort if you're on your feet all day or doing a lot of walking. All things considered, this is, to my mind, the very best clog available and I highly recommend them.

I bought these for my husband to wear around the house and outside occassionally. We wear close to the same size shoe so I end up stealing them sometimes for myself! We love them so much I think I will just have to get my own pair! The support is excellent!

Great shoe. The clog style gives the perception of a larger shoe since it is a looser fit. I estimate these run one half size larger than I typically wear.

This is the second pair my husband has gotten to wear to work at the hospital. Favorite shoes ever, worn daily to a job where he never sits.

Best slip-on shoe out there, bar none. Perfect for jobs that require you to be on your toes for long hours. They also work well for dress casual events. These are my first pair of Merrell's and certainly will not be the last.

This is a completely comfortable slip-on. It is my go to shoe. It is a pleasure to keep the shoe shined up.

In the past ten years, I've owned I think five pairs of these shoes. They've evolved during that time with different leathers and colors but have consistently been good shoes that hold up to a lot of tough wear with very little shoe polish or messing around with them. Most of the time I just wipe them off with a wet paper towel and head out the door. This pair has a type of leather that tends to scuff more but still they look pretty good, again without a lot of care. Honestly, I hope Merrell continues to make this still 'til I die because they are absolutely great shoes. I am very grateful to Zappos.com for carrying them as I have the biggest feet in my community and buying shoes in a brick and mortar store is a virtual impossibility on any given day.

I have a pair that I have had for many years & my husband has always wanted a pair, too--he often would wear mine. I could never find the ones for men that looked like this in stores & he didn't like the ones for men with the stitching on the top. I was happy to find these on Zappos and he was surprised and thrilled to get them for Christmas. They fit great, although he says not quite as comfy as mine (but mine are worn in a lot) & now I can have my old ones back!

First time ordering from Zappo's. Service was excellant. Shoes were a replacement pair that were no longer available at LLBean. They are just as we expected, sized appropriately, comfortable, and the heel counter is high enough to wear and stay on in any situation. I also like the fact that I can wear my Good Feet arch supports in them with no problem.

My third pair in 6 years. The best shoe is less shoe: less weight and more foot freedom makes them super comfortable. This pair has slightly better details than last two and the Gust is more graceful than the Encore Groove.

Bought these for my husband. He loves them. They are comfortable, and easy to get in and out of, his main criterion. They are acceptable style-wise for his job as an IT consultant.

This is my third pair of these shoes. One pair that I still wear, I should have thrown away a year ago, as parts are falling off of them, and I've worn the insole into several pieces. I also have a brown pair and just now received a black pair. They are quite comfortable. I have to wear a 5/8" lift in one shoe and the pad fits adequately underneath the removable insole liner. I've used a pair of these shoes for fairly rough work, but they are not intended for heavy work. It is simply that they are so easy to kick on and off, and are so comfortable, that I hate to have to lace up my work shoes. They are good looking, however not flashy. Great shoes for casual, and even dressy casual applications in a pinch. I order them 1/2 size larger (size 12 regular) to accommodate my 11 1/2 EE foot.

Great for getting through security at airports, great on the plane as you can slide out of them as your feet swell. Great walking shoes on uneven surfaces, as I found out in Rome. Supportive without making you feel your feet are in vices. Like barefoot with great cushioning. Water resistant, except for heel, whose low height also allows small stones to get onto the footbed. Big deal, you stop, empty the shoe and get on your smooth way.

Extremely comfortable. Good insert is comfortable. I wear 4E width to be comfortable, but the medium width adjusts itself to the foot being its a clog. No problems. I wouldn't wear it as an everyday outdoor shoe as it may be overtaxed and lessen the life of the shoe. But overall, it's pretty good. And male looking.
