Product Review on Brooks shoes (Ariel) I wore another brand for many years but having flat feet, I needed something with a stronger arch, so I bought my first Brooks three years ago. My posterior tibia tendon tore and I had to be in a cast for six months. I wore one shoe for a period of time while my foot was healing and afterward I bought my second pair of Brooks. Now I am hooked!!!! My arch and ankle feel so much better when wearing them and I have returned to the Tread Mill and am feeling great.

Zappos is the best! I have been wearing the Brooks Ariel ever since it was prescribed to me by my orthopedist 8 years ago and it is still the perfect shoe for me. The cushioning is wonderful and it really controls pronation. In other shoes with less control my feet twist and it ends up taking my whole body out of alignment. With my Ariels, I can walk a couple miles a day and my dog is very grateful and so am I! Zappos is the best because they carry my true size 11.5, which is nearly impossible to find anywhere else.

Love my new shoes - I was running on the treadmill when suddenly I realized my shoes were worn out. They caused blisters. I got online to Zappos at 9:30 PM and had new shoes the next afternoon. I was able to resume my exercise without missing a day. I usually wear Brooks for running and walking. Love Brooks and Love Zappos!

Great shoe for a Problem foot!! Love the shoes. I wear them all the time as I have a horrible time with my feet and finding a comfortable shoe. Wish Brooks made a casual shoe more appropriate for work.

Great shoes!! I have this shoe several times and the fit is perfect. I usually wear a size 8, but in walking shoes I wear an 8.5. The minute I put these on I could feel the cushioning. The arch support is okay. When I took a step, it felt like my foot was being propelled forward. My husband has the male counter-part, called "The Beast" and he liked them so much, he bought a second pair. Would buy again.

Shoe service - I have been wearing Brooks shoes for over 2 years now. Thye are perfect. I was first fitted for them by an expert in Everett, Washington. You can put them on and never have to take off. Fit is perfect. I have one foot that is an entire size larger than the other. By ordering a wider shoe, I am able to purchase only one pair of shoes. Zappos provides excellent service with speedy delivery and no hassle returns.

Great shoes - I have been wearing these shoes for nine years. Not only are they comfortable, they accommodate my bunions.

Can’t live without them - Despite being excellent running shoes, they also are great for those of us that work on our feet all day. I have trouble finding shoes that are truly comfortable, but ever since I discovered the Ariel, I've been wearing them, about 6 or 7 years now. My trouble zone is my heel - if you wear mostly mules or backless shoes, this may fit the bill for your running or walking shoe.

Saving my knees - These are the best shoes for those of us that have issues with pronation and knees that bend inward. I love when they are brand new...feelin good. Keep on moving.

Extreme cushioning - Very cushioned and supportive shoe. Nice wide toe box, but not too wide in heel as many wide widths shoes are.

My new favorite sneaker - I wear this shoe as much as possible. I suffer from severe wide flat feet, and have developed back pain from a car accident. This shoe helps with all of the above. I find myself coordinating my outfits so that I can wear this shoe.

Real help for heel pain - This shoe has helped with my heel pain better then any other shoe! I stand all day long and have worn them everyday for 2 weeks.

Great sneaker - I love Brooks shoes - they're the only sneakers I wear to work out in. The Ariel is a great shoe, though last year's green version was slightly more comfortable straight out of the box. I still really like them and will buy another pair when these wear out.

Comfortable - These shoes fit from get go and are so comfortable. The extra cushion really feels great they have improved this new shoe.

Very comfortable - I received these shoes the next day! I wore them around the house to try them out. Had to run to the store 5 blocks and forgot that I had them on. Fits well with my orthodics.

Greatest shoe ever made - This is my 10th pair. If they ever stop making the Ariel, I will buy their last 50 pairs. If you have back, knee, or foot problems, this is your shoe. This shoes support and stability has no rival. Buy a 1/2 size larger than you normally wear. Prepare to be very happy.

Brooks Ariel - The shoes are so fabulous. They were recommended by our Podiatrist, and they have excellent support in all ways. I also appreciate Zappos fabulous shipping. The item came fast! Highly recommend these shoes and Zappos.

Nice! Great support in arch and ankle, nice sock lining makes the mesh a bit more tolerable, good toe room. I have PF and a heel spur and this shoe is the only thing I am able to tolerate. I wear my orthotic w/the shoe. I did order it 1/2 size larger than I normally wear and it was a perfect fit. Great customer support, thanks Zappos Team!

My podiatrist recommended "Brooks" brand shoes. When I researched Ariel was the best for the "pronation" problem I now live with. When I went to a local department store I was given only 1 choice. I purchased them as it was part of my new regimen. Since then I ordered these from Zappos...which came the next day...and they have become my favorite shoes. I can work all day in them, still be able to stand and make dinner and not be crying with pain. They are very attractive. I will be ordering more Brooks and definitely from Zappos.

Brooks Ariel - These shoes are comfortable, airy, and offer great support. I have to give it a two star rating on comfort because they are not comfortable because they are not wide enough even though I ordered a wide. I wore them because I evacuated hurricane Ike with them, and ended up with blisters on my small and neighboring toe. I passed on my New Balance 1123's because they have such bad odor even when new. Next time, I will try an extra-wide, and they may be the perfect shoe.

I thought I was a severe over pronator until I tried on this shoe. It definitely felt majorly heavy-duty and something like a cast from the hospital. Nothing against the shoe, just don't buy it unless you really need it. I went with the Glycerin 9 instead which I love and the arch lock controls my pronation very well, I have had much less knee pain.

Being very overweight, and just starting a Doctor-recommended walking program, I wanted shoes with great support, and these have been wonderful.

Brooks Ariel in a regular width runs a little bit shorter than Brooks Adrenaline (wide) and Brooks Addiction (wide). My foot is basically a C width... what I mean is it s right between regular and wide. This Brooks Ariel shoe fits me better than the wider sizes... but it does run a half-size shorter than expected. Good width...

Love them, but one issue... These shoes are super comfortable, very lightweight and have great support. I did have to return the first pair of shoes and get a pair half a size larger. My only complaint is that when the weather is cold, the air comes through the mesh and my feet are chilly. Probably not a problem for others unless you live up north like me. I'll use the shoes for three seasons out of the year and for winter; I'll have to get a different athletic shoe. Zappos absolutely rocks! Thanks for the shipping upgrade - shoes got here in one day! Amazing!

Brooks Ariel - I would have given this shoe 5 stars for comfort, but they changed the placement of the trim just enough to make it tighter in the front where I need the little extra space. Sometimes manufacturers should leave a perfect thing alone. The old style was perfect and comfortable from the first minute. I noticed that others complained about the same problem.
