I love love this shoe. I wouldn't call it "sleek" however as the video describes. Nothing sleek or chic about it that's why it is a great product! It is not meant for little mall rats to go shopping or wannabe rappers. This is a well-designed athletic shoe for folks who need stability due to foot or joint problems. An excellent shoe indeed.

Finally a athletic shoe I can wear without looking like I am wearing a white plastic box. My foot is an astonishing 11.5 extra wide. I know 2 x 6 planks come to mind. These shoes are pretty, most importantly, and very comfy. They make me feel more feminine. The mesh toe is like an a/c blowing on low when your foot heats up. Perfect! I think the toe room is the best part. Thank you!

I have extremely flat feet and have to wear custom orthodics. These shoes are perfect because they have a low profile and the flat platform. For the first time in my life I felt like my feet had room and were not forced into an arch I don't have. I give it 3 stars for style because I wish they came in more color options. Thank you, Brooks!

If you need a running shoe with maximum stability because you have a tendency to roll your foot in too far (over-pronation), then this is an excellent shoe. I find it lighter than comparable motion control/stability shoes, and I also found that there was almost no break-in period getting started with these shoes. This was my first pair of Brooks running shoes after years of using either Nike or New Balance, and I'm extremely impressed.

This is the third pair of Ariel's I've bought. I have a problem with pronation and was advised to get this brand/style. I work 12 hour shifts and on my feet a lot, these shoes are wonderful. Have always been very pleased, no having to break them in.

The Ariel has been a true answer to prayer. I severely over-pronate, which causes knee, ankle, and foot problems. My brand new podiatrist recommended this shoe. These shoes are really making a difference in getting me more mobile again and lessening the pain. Love them! Brooks, could you make them in a black dressy version if that is possible? I'll be your first customer! I ordered them 1/2 size larger and the next width wider (after ordering my usual size) and they fit perfectly.

Not sure since this is the brand that has really helped me.

I am so glad I purchased these shoes. My doctor recommended I wear a more solid sole and go 1/2 size larger. Thank goodness I listened. I am walking with less pain wearing Brooks Ariel.

Love this shoe! I work 12 hour shifts on my feet. My feet, particularly my heels, have never felt better with this shoe. I have worn Brooks before but these are by far my favorite! I love that there is an extra "anchor" on the tongue to keep the tongue of the shoe straight! Very happy, just wish there were more color choices and a little less expense. Thanks for saving my feet!

These shoes are always great for those of us that have pronating problems. This new style is wider and somewhat larger in the toe area which I like. I am wearing them with thicker socks and they are great.

Comfortable shoe. Did not need break-in period. Wore shoe for weight training and walking. Good arch support. Only negative is shorter socks get pulled back into shoe. I usually wear a 6.5 or 7, and the 7.5 was perfect.

These are the best shoes I've ever had! Plenty of support, yet flexible. They also sit nice on the back of the heel -- not too low (which I hate) and not so high as to look bulky or rub on your ankles. I bought these for running, but they feel so good on my feet that I've been wearing them almost constantly. I wish Brooks made a line of casual, non-athletic style shoes, because I'd live in them. If they could build black and brown leather shoes that are really these in disguise, I'd have some very happy feet! The only complaint I have about the Brooks Ariel is the limited color selection. I wish they came in black with colorful accents (not plain black, because, well, eeewww!) like their Adrenaline GTS 12 (http://www.zappos.com/brooks-adrenaline-gts-12-bright-green-cactas-flower-black-ombre-blue). Hopefully they expand the color line, but other than that, these puppies are pure perfection!

Great shoes. I had to replace the ones I bought about five years ago and wasn't sure which kind to get because they don't make that style any more. These are running shoes, but I'm not a runner. I have a wide foot and arthritic ankles. I can't say enough about how comfortable they are. Also, Zappos is great!

Love this shoe! This is my 3rd pair. I got Bunions for my 35th birthday and was not able to run until I could figure out what was causing the pain. I run 10K's regularly and was training for my 1st Triathalon sprint when I noticed the pain in my right foot. After diagnosing the bunion, I began investing in footwear that would never cause the pain again and prevent further bunion growth. These shoes immediately relieved my pain. I was a different person and began running again! The stability, cushioning width and overall quality keep me coming back. I made the decision that my family was worth the investment -- a happy and healthy mom = a happy fam! Brooks you rock!

I love these shoes, I have been wearing them for 5+years and remain loyal. They provide excellent support for my over-pronating feet, and have eliminated shin splits and knee pain I experienced with other running shoes.

I have flat feet with severe over pronation. This shoe keeps my ankles from rolling inward. I am extremely happy with the support provided when I walk in these shoes. I'll be ordering another pair soon.

This is a very comfortable, stable shoe with great arch support. I have flat feet & a bad case of plantar fasciitis, and these shoes have been a tremendous help. I wear them with custom-made orthotics, although the inserts provided are very cushy. I wear these daily when walking the dogs & working out. I highly recommend.

I've been fitted independently four times & every time the salesperson (generally a runner) always puts me in this shoe without question. Four different stores in 2 states all knew this would be the perfect one for me - and I would never prompt them by recommending I try it first! I love this shoe. After wearing no other running shoe for about 10 years I can't even put on another brand with out felling every lump & bump. It has the most comfortable footbed & support I've ever worn.

Wow. I love my Brooks. I have always had a flat, wide foot. Now that I am very overweight my foot is wider and requires extra stability. I have worn New Balance for years because of the wide selection of “wides”. But now that I got my Ariel, I don't think I will ever go back. They are very roomy so if you like a snugger shoe you may want to order a half size down.

You just know when you put on shoes that they will be comfortable, and these shoes were comfortable from the minute I put them on. I have a high arch, wide feet, and a long foot.I wear a 11 EE and use an insert to give more support to my arch. These shoes already have a great cushion insole. I just kept it in and inserted my 3/4 size inserts in the shoe. Any narrower a shoe and that would not have worked. They are lightweight and pretty. I have yet to exercise in them or stand for long periods, but wanted to let you know my opinion before I forgot about it.

Brooks Ariel is very comfortable. I have fallen arches, a bunion arthritis and my feet have gotten larger. Between this shoe and Zappos patience with my getting the size I needed. I am much more active. They look way cool too. I am 67. My daughter and grandson couldn't find me in the mall. She said, it's those darn new sneakers.

The best tennis shoe I have worn. My sister walked daily for several miles and complained about her feet. I gave her this pair and she could not be happier. No more foot pain or toenail problems!

Just a mess all the way around - blew out knee 18 years ago, ACL / Meniscus repaired with 2 titanium screws. Down the road started suffering hideous plantar fasciitis; fallen high arches and already had bunions! Custom orthotics became only way I could function without pain everywhere. Problem is they cost $400 per pair. I tried every shoe on the planet for years and never found one that gave enough arch and heel support until now. The Brooks Ariel mesh gives just enough to make the bunions happy and allows feet to breathe. The arch support is not as good as custom orthotics, but the best I've been able to find without the huge expense. The heel and arch support both help with overpronation and plantar fasciitis. All around, great shoe (only shoe) on the market that helps with this laundry list of aliments. Thanks Zappos!
