These running shoes are every bit of the five star rating they have received. I ordered according to the recommendations of 1/2 size up. Perfect. Ordered a D width, which gave plenty of room in the toe box. I have Morton's neuroma, and mild plantar tendon pain, so I have orthotics. Fit perfectly. I stand 12 hours a day, and these are the most supportive, comfortable shoes I have found to date.

This is my third pair of these shoes. I love them for running. I have tried asics and saucony. These are my favorite. My husband ran cross country in college and swears by this brand. Obviously you'll want to buy them a half size bigger for running.

I was in tears unable to find shoes that allowed me to walk without pain, until I found this shoe. Wearing this shoe is like walking on pillows, they are so comfortable. After trying many other brands of trainers built to support pronation, this shoe is the only one that actually supported my foot. I suffer from severe plantar fasciitis and must wear prescription orthotics in my athletic shoes. Consequently, in order to accommodate the orthotics, I must size up to Size 8.5 (I normally wear Size 7 without the orthotics). Even with the orthotic in place, the Brooks Ariel is the only shoe supportive enough for me. The shoe runs true to length, but the B width is still is quite wide, and I must wear a thick sock, and be sure to tie the laces really tight in order to get the best support form the shoe. If you have really narrow feet, you may want to try another shoe. I love this shoe so much, I have ordered a second pair!

I can stop looking now -- this is the shoe I need. Thanks to Zappos and their easy return policy I tried a few others, but have finally found the right shoe and the right size for my extremely flat, over-pronating feet. They're comfortable, supportive and I can feel them holding my foot straight and not allowing it to roll sideways. Nice roomy toe box for my bunions. If I had one wish, it would be that the heels were a little narrower -- my heels still slip a bit -- but I just don't think such a shoe exists, so I'll use the very last shoe lace hole and tie them snug to secure them to my heel. This will be the shoe I order from now on.

I usually wear an 8 1/2 regular width and the nine was too short. I bought a 9 1/2 which fits fine in length and width if I leave in the lining. If I put in my orthotic, the shoe is a bit wide. Since I need it a bit wider for one foot due to recent toe surgery, this actually works for me. The lining seems to have arch support. I love how stable they are. I have severe pronation and a history of plantar fasciitis.

Zappos is the best way to shop shoes. I could not have 4 pairs of shoes I bought with traditional shopping that is available in my area. This is my second pair of Brooks Ariel's. They are great -- especially since I have plantar fasciitis.

Need strong pronation control and these shoes provide it. Since I wear them with thicker socks, I ordered a 9.5 and those fit perfectly with the desired thumb's width in front of the toes. My street shoe & sandal size is size is 8.5 and sometimes 8. Definitely suggest ordering a full size up unless you wear thin or no socks. They got dinged for style for looking bulky and lack of color choice. Color okay but would have preferred a darker, less obtrusive choice.

Fabulous sneaker for those of use who over pronate (flat feet)! I use one pair for walking and the other at work (on my feet all day as a registered nurse). Also, orthotics fit inside well in place of the insert that comes with the sneaker...if needed.

I love these shoes. I have plantar fascia (flat feet) and these shoes totally relieve my heel pain!

I have been a fan of New Balance for years and because I was so happy with my old NB 1122's I ordered the NB 587. In this same Zappos order I decided to give the Brooks Ariel and Adrenaline a try and ordered those as well. I am very disappointed with the quality of the NB 587 as it is far inferior to the NB 1122. Both Brooks shoes, I ordered, have higher quality materials, better support, and cushioning than the New Balance. I will be keeping the Brooks Ariel only because the Adrenaline was a bit short in the toe box. Both the Ariel and Adrenaline are excellent shoes and Brooks will have me as a customer in the future.

I have had heel and metatarsal foot pain for over a year due to an injury and have tried and returned literally dozens of comfort shoes to protect my feet while healing. I needed a good athletic shoe that would allow me to stand on my feet and also get back to exercise walking. These shoes have given me the stability and cushion to do just that. They also improve my posture so I no longer get a back ache when standing or walking on hard floors. They have nice ventilation to keep my feet cool and they are actually a pretty "sneaker". I love the colors. I have wide feet and almost a high arch which makes it difficult to find shoes I can wear for any length of time. These Brooks are a dream shoe for me. I normally wear a 9 wide but found I needed to a 1/2 size up to allow room for my toes at the end even with the wide width. I think because they are so well cushioned. The other cool thing is they come in all widths which is another thing that's hard to find. I will definitely be getting another pair which I rarely do. I can't say enough good things about these shoes.

I absolutely love these shoes. I am an overweight runner and kept struggling with shin splints and heel pain. I was afraid that I would have to stop running until I lost enough weight to ease the strain on my legs. After a few google searches, I found a website that recommended these shoes for women runners over 180 lbs. I struggle justifying spending this much on shoes but these have been worth every penny! I no longer have leg pain during my run or after. This is the first shoe that I have ever owned which actually makes me feel good after a run. I am looking forward to wearing these out and buying my next pair! I typically wear a nine in shoes but bought these in a 9.5 and they feel great.

I have major problems with my feet from bunions and hammertoes to plantar fasciitis. These shoes are wide in the toe box and give me plenty of wiggle room. They accommodate my orthotics which makes walking a pleasure again. I wear them everywhere with complete comfort and support.

Problem feet, that's me. We're talking plantar fasciitis, wide feet, high instep, etc. But when I tried these shoes on, my feet (and I) were so comfortable that I was in shock. Can't say enough good things about these shoes. Even my orthotics fit comfortably. Thank you, Brooks, for making extra wide shoes and thanks, Zappos, for carrying them!

I have had plantar fasciitis in the past and I am sure that these sneakers have kept it from recurring. They are comfortable from day one -- no need to "break them in".

Love it! I bought the same pair 5 years ago for about the same price. It is very comfortable for running. Good shoe. Good quality.

This is my second pair of Brooks Ariel and they are just great shoes. I walk two dogs several times a day and they keep my feet comfortable on the road. Plus they are light weight and have air flow.

These shoes have awesome arch support! I have had two major ankle injuries to the same area and have a difficult time finding shoes that will give me the support in my arch that I need -- even custom made orthotics do not help. The injury left me flat-footed in that foot. But the Brooks Ariel and Brooks Adrenaline provide the support I need without any additional orthotics added.

These shoes are a lifesaver. My podiatrist recommended these to me for their superior motion control (I am an overpronator who has struggled with plantar fasciitis more than once) and he was so right. My feet felt instantly comfortable and fully supported with each step. My orthotics also fit in these shoes without a problem. I wear these for workouts and any time I'm going to be on my feet for a couple hours or more. I even bought a second pair just to wear around the house. :)

Thank you Zappos for your service above and beyond the normal and patience till I finally found a shoe that works for me. The Brooks Ariel is liking walking on clouds with a perfect arch support and perfect fit for a narrow heel with wiggle toe room for those arthritic toes and a stabilizing platform that I didn't even know I needed. My perfect shoe for a 72 year young with fibro and other things that has started me walking again. I really appreciate the videos and reviews which helped me choose this shoe and Zappos excellent service that let me return all those that just didn't work.

Just want to say thank you to Zappos. I have been wearing Glycerin 8 running shoes for a long time and when orderd the Glycerin 9 recently they did not fit. Overall too big and didn't have the cushion in the sole which I need and heel was too wide even tho I wear a wide shoe. Tried several different selections and none fit me. Sport stores did not have anything in wide to try on. Back to Zappos and tried the Brooks Ariel which fits perfectly, comfortable for bunions and very good cushioning. Love the color too. Thank you, Zappos, for free return till I could find a shoe to fit and will be ordering the Ariel again soon. Mary, Elverson, PA

I have had 3 surgeries on my foot the Brooks Ariel is the only shoe I can wear comfortably. Love this shoe and the customer service person that helped me order them.

I wore Brooks Ariel shoes years ago. I just received these after years of not having them and I am thinking, why did I wait so long? These shoes are amazing! If you have flat feet or pronate... these are your babies! Comfortable right out of the box! I'm a happy camper! But they are a bit smaller compared to Asics. I went up 1/2 size and it was perfect!
