I love these shoes. I've been a regular Beast buyer for years. I have flat feet and these really help with stability and control. I just drop in my orthotics and off I go. I don't even bother shopping for other similar shoes -- when one pair wears out, I just go pick up the latest Beast. I like that this year's model has a slight tint to the mesh. In the past, the mesh was white and they got dirty so quickly. This will hide dirt a bit better.

These are great shoes. They are well-built, look great, but just are not for me. I am a big guy, and some writers recommend stability-control shoes for heavy runners even if they do not have pronation issues. I had good luck with the New Balance 1012, but wanted to try something new. Looking at the Beast from the back, the angle of the heel actually tilts your whole foot outwards. Wearing them around the house, it just felt like great arch support, but during my first workout my hips started protesting.

These are the most comfortable, well-made running shoes I have ever owned. While not as cool to gaze upon as most NB shoes, they are sort of fun in their own way. Huge endorsement, if comfort and support is what you want.

Just purchased the Beast in past 30 days. My business is sports medicine so I m on my feet constantly and had been having problems--nearly to crippling effect. This shoe has nearly 100% resolved my foot problems along with a little medication. I would never pay a price for shoes as I did for the Beast but now I'm saving for my next purchase and money spent was absolutely well worth it. These shoes have added a new step to my life, relatively pain free has made me very happy and a definite consideration if you're looking for a great shoe.

Although encumbered with a titanium plate and nine stainless steel screws in each heel for the past six years, the Brooks Beast has proven to be the most comfortable walking shoe. I have worn during that time. I am now to the point of fast walking (13-14 minute miles) approximately 15-20 miles per week. I cannot heap enough praise upon the Beast, far and away the best solution for my unique problem. I have tried countless others. I absolutely love this shoe. And also kudos to Zappos, the most customer focused business that I have ever dealt with.

These shoes are awesome. This is my fifth pair. I will keep buying these until Brooks stops making them or until I die. I strongly suggest you try them, assuming you need a lot of support.

I bought these shoes for my husband who is on his feet all day. He is very happy with the shoe, it gives good support and cushion for standing all day.

Awesome, I am a "healthy" fellow. The Beast has provided me great support for my training with no injuries. Just ran a marathon, thanks to the Beast. I will never wear another shoe when training, working out or just being active!

The best shoes I've found for my heavier self. Most running shoes seem to be designed for guys lighter than me.

Due to the size of my fee 15-4E, I must order all my shoes online. These have been great so far, they are well constructed and fit well on the length and width. I have enough room for my orthotic inserts if I pul out the inserts that come with the shoes, as recommended by the orthotic fanufacturer. The arch support is strong and are comfortable for long periods of time. I have never owned this brand before but it was recommended by my doctor.

I am a beginner jogger and this shoe seems to work for me fairly well. Since I switched to the Beast my run time has slightly improved and I have not experienced any leg pains or ankle issues. Being 6'1" and 220lbs and having flat feet, I feel that this shoe accomplishes its mission with flying colors.

My 2nd pair of the Beast. This pair fits as well and feels as good as the first pair 5 years ago. Nice to know that sometimes quality persevers.

This is a great shoe, I buy a new pair every year from Zappos and I always have 3-4 pairs to rotate so I can wear them almost all the time. Peace!

If you over pronate, are heavier individual, and or have minimal arches, this is the shoe for you! It does weigh more than the typical running shoe, but your feet, knees, and ankles will thank you later. These seem a little stiffer due to the full foot bridge, but that is what they are made for. If you are a light speed demon, these shoes aren't for you. Great shoe and great product for larger guys! I would get 1 size larger than your normal shoe size as they seem to run small, unless you are in the half size category. Colors and style are getting there and that's why only 4 stars.

I love these shoes! I had back issues and flat feet. My podiatrist recommended these shoes. I am a walker not a runner so I wasn't sure how these shoes would work. They give so much support. I wore these shoes everywhere for six months! Work, workouts etc. I use an orthotic so I cant speak to arch support and I had to order a mens size so don't know how women's size work. Cannot recommend them enough. I am on my 3rd pair.

My 15 year old son has flexible flat feet. We searched for good supportive shoes and these fit the bill. He has them in several colors to alternate. They hold up well and I have washed them without incident. I would highly recommend these for motion control and stability.

If you're looking for a solid running shoe which gives enough padding, but isn't too tight around the toes or for those with a wide foot, this might be the right shoe for you. I have a size 15 foot, and generally find it tough to find running shoes which I really like, both in terms of style and function. I took a chance on these shoes, having never purchased Brooks sneakers before, and being somewhat skeptical after reading only a smattering of reviews. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I've worn these for around 9 months now in a variety of settings, even using them on a 2-day mountain hike on one weekend. Mostly, though, I use them 3-4 times a week as my running shoes. And they perform admirably. They are starting to wear down somewhat in the outside balls of the sole and on the inside fabric of the heel, but the heel part is largely because of the way I run and because of the way these shoes seem to slide up and down just a little more than many others I've purchased in the past. And yes, they are the right size. It's just the way they seem to be designed. And they are definitely useful for someone who is an over-pronator. So, in summary, I was very pleased with this purchase, even if they were a little more expensive than some of the other shoes I was looking at at the time of purchase. I will definitely make my next set of running shoes something in the same product line as this pair. I was pleased with the quality of the product, and think that they were a solid purchase. Oh! And they were/are incredibly comfortable to wear. Great padding and design. Definitely worth mentioning.

BROOKS Beast is extremely comfortable and nice looking. The combination mesh and synthetic upper makes this a very durable running shoe. The excellent cushioning and arch support provides flexibility and comfort. The fact that this shoe helps with pronation problems is a definite plus. I never realized how good Brooks was until I tried these runners. I am starting to feel that the other brands are somewhat overrated. The Beast is practically the perfect shoe. Highly recommended!

Great for bad feet! This is my second pair. My doctor recommended them for my plantar fasciitis. Great foot support and stabilization.

Narrow foot, extreme pronation, wonderful comfort - The title says it. I have a hard foot to fit; it's very narrow, and my pronation is so extreme I leave oval footprints around a pool. I've been wearing Brooks shoes for a few years now, and this latest incarnation of the Beast is the best yet. I walk a mile and a half uphill to the coffee shop every morning with a 12-15 pound backpack, and the Brooks shoes get me there without sore knees or hips, and with only moderately aching feet (moderately is as good as I've been able to get since I was about 12, and I'm over 70 now). I recommend them highly. Get a half size larger than you usually wear, and you'll probably have a perfect fit.

Great shoe - I'm a big guy, so I need a solid shoe for running. Brooks Beast is an awesome shoe! I think it runs narrow (especially when compared to New Balance), so I always get one width larger than I normally buy.

Flat feet as happy as flat feet can be - These shoes cost a little more, but podiatrists and crutches and physical therapy cost even more. As a flat-footed person who needs good support in a shoe, these have served me well and have allowed me to actively walk and even run without the pain and medical expense. There is adequate room (upon removing the built-in insole) for a custom prescription orthotic. I've gotten a new pair of these shoes about every five or six months for the past three years and my flat feet are about as happy as flat feet can possibly be.
