Super comfy. I was debating between these and the Uggs Adirondack. I finally ended up with these since they are actually rated for cold and seem to be much more flexible / comfortable than the rigid Adirondack. I am super excited to use these on a ski trip to Switzerland. I am stationed in Germany and the winters here are pretty fierce. I normally wear a 7.5 and the 7 fit like a glove. I didn't experience the rubbing like some mentioned in their comments. I plan on wearing mine with some wigwam socks. I will update this post if there are any problems, but so far so good.

This is a really nice boot. I'm familiar with Sorels and heavy duty winter boots. Based on the expectation that they are large and wide, these fit right on target. I usually wear an 8, sometimes a 7.5, and the Cate size 8 fit with just enough room for heavy socks (though I don't think you need them with this boot). The boot was very warm and fashionable, though I ultimately opted for something else. Wish I could have afforded to keep these, too, though!

Wow. What a great fashionable boot with the warmth and water protection to get you through a snow storm. I will be treating these with a water repellent treatment for extra protection. Also, the tongue is not gusseted all the way up the boot, only to the third shoelace holder! This was a surprise to me and I don't know why all the other reviews didn't say this. If that worries you and you will be wearing these to go sledding or snowshoeing (or something similar), you can always buy some gaiters to go over the boots. That said, these things are awesome. The calf is big enough to easily put leggings/jeggings, tights or skinny jeans underneath them easily; and I have 15.5 inch calves at the largest. These would look good with skirts or dresses, also. The first boot I received I had to return because the right boot felt like it was made wrong; the top of the boot was digging into the top of my right foot. The felt liner is super warm, the shoe part is big enough where you can definitely wear a bigger sock if you want. I normally wear a 6.5 - 7 in normal shoes so I ordered the size 7 which is perfect. I m also 5' 2" and these boots come up approximately 4 inches below the center of my knee. I feel as though if you have really big feet, these boots will make your feet look like Bigfoot feet.

Because there aren't half sizes, I got the 7. Perfect fit- I am normally a 6.5. These are just adorable. Skinny jeans, sweater dresses, endless possibilities. Functional, stylish and warm. I will have these for a long time. I will consider buying another pair.

LOVE these snow boots! I live in Boston and our winters can be pretty harsh and snowy. I've really needed a boot that is TALL so that I'm covered in snow drifts. I wear a size 6.5 normally, so I originally ordered a size 7 in these boots. I was swimming in the 7's...wayyyy too big; with the laces tied as tight as possible, I could still easily slide my foot out of the boot. So, I returned them and ordered a size 6. Much better fit. They're snug. Too bad they don't have half sizes. I wish there was just a bit more wiggle room, but no biggie. They fit, but my toes reach the very end. The padding on the sole is nice, as is the felt lining. Very comfy and warm. Can't wait to wear them in this year's first "blizzard." : )All my snow boots have been Sorel. I highly recommend this brand.

I ordered the Sorels in a 10. I am usually a 9.5 and they were way too big. I actually would need a 9 or even an 8.5. Hence, order at least a half size down! They are very wide, which is ok if you wear thick socks. I will have to sell mine (ordered them in two colors). I am not sure if I will re-order them. The style is great. They are not very feminine, but the design has something to it.

Just got my boots today, I ordered them exactly a week ago. They look a bit big on my feet, but any size smaller would be too tight. I usually wear an 8.5-9, and I have wide calves and feet. These feel warm, comfy, and sturdy. Love the laces up front. Totally satisfied with my purchase!

Warm and very comfy. Exactly what I'd expect from Sorel. Oh, and they look great too! Nice to be stylish while slogging through the never ending New England winter.

I love these boots. They are comfortable, waterproof and adorable. They were a bit lager than their size but that left me room for my thick socks.

A great boot for kicking heavy snow's butt! This is one of the only tall boots I've found that will fit over my 18" calves with all my layers of long underwear and jeans as well. The laces are plenty long to tie comfortably, and the boots are warm and keep my feet dry in slushy puddles. The boots are heavy, but worthwhile.

I bought this boot because I was going to New York for the first time and needed a boot to walk for miles in the snow. I loved them.

Great winter boots. I love these boots and receive compliments on them when I wear them. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your perspective), I have only worn them a handful of times, mainly to and from skiing, so it's hard for me to tell how they would be if I had to walk long distances. I do love that they are waterproof and that they come up within a few inches of my knees; I feel like I can tromp through the snow without any worries. The gray ones were out of stock and I ordered the black/tusk color. I'm glad I did because it's the sort of black that looks good with other things - it's not a shiny black. They definitely run large; I'm almost always an 8.5 and I bought an 8. I also tried the 7, but they were too small. The rubber part of the boot is quite wide for me and when I lace up the boots tightly, it makes the rubber boot part look even wider. That might bother some people, but I'm fine with it. I've tended to wear them with leggings and I don't think they look as cute if you're wearing snow pants tucked into them - it tends to make the faux fur bunch up oddly. I also ordered the Sorel Firenzy (loved them, too) and Earth Peak, but Cate the Great was the winner for me.

I saw these in a magazine and they looked great. In person they look just as good, and are comfortable as well as functional. I received mine just in time for a snow storm, and after walking 3 miles in them through the snow, I can definitely say they were a good buy. My feet stayed warm, dry, comfortable, and fashionable.

I love these boots. They keep me warm and dry, and I have received a lot of compliments on the style and on how they look from both genders. They are true to size even when you wear a pair of thick socks. Zappos delivery service is amazing even with the blizzard we had in N.Y. in December they were delivered right on schedule.

I love these boots! They are highly functional yet a little bit cute at the same time. I recommend them to people all the time, and I want a second pair in the grey/white!

I have yet to test out my new boots outside, but so far I am super impressed! They look great and I can't wait to wear them out in the elements. I'm mainly writing to say that they definitely run large. I normally take an 8 1/2, and couldn't for the life of me find an 8 in the color I wanted. I ordered a 7 hoping that they might fit, and was happy to find that they do - and aren't snug in the least.

I couldn't be happier with my purchase. These shoes are the real deal - substantial, stylish, comfortable, functional, an all round winner. The sizing is right on for a snow boot (that is, there is ample room for a thick sock without worry about cramped tootsies). Another huge plus for these boots is the larger calf circumference. I have a large calf and have never been able to find a boot that will accommodate my calf and my jeans, well, my search is over! I purchased this shoe in black and feel that it will be quite versatile with many winter wardrobe options. Dainty these boots are not but I couldn't be more pleased.

Boots are even nicer in person! They do run a little big, so I suggest ordering a size down if you are a 1/2 size or have a narrow foot. These boots are the warmest boots I have ever owned. Haven't worn anything else since I got them.

Make no mistake: these are cute, but they are serious snow boots. I get compliments on them all the time, and they keep my feet warm and dry whether on a walk through snowy fields in Vermont or through slushy streets in New York. Very well made, and totally waterproof. I usually wear a 7 1/2, and the 7 was definitely too small. The 8 is perfect.

I agree with other reviewers that these boots make your feet look huge, but the shape is good in relation to the rest of the boot. However, they are very warm and become very comfortable with wear. They slip on and off very easily and are fun/funky with a slim skirt. I've worn them on a two-mile hike.

Absolutely awesome! Took kids sledding up at lake...hearty bunch, 37 mph winds & zero windchill. All of us were as warm as toast all bundled up. Had a blast! Warm tootsies! Happy smiles and memories!

Just received my boots and they're great! I've been looking for new snow boots, and after a lot of research, decided to get a pair of Sorels. Cate The Great seemed the most stylish - and I also like the lace-up, so they're adjustable. I do agree with other reviewers; it would be nice if these came in half sizes. I typically wear an 8, so I ordered the 7 and 8 - the 7 is a little too snug, the 8 a little too big, but I've decided to keep the 8. This was my first time ordering from Zappos - great experience, I placed my order on Monday, received it on Wednesday!
