I've purchased this shoe many times in the past few years for work. I think New Balance has re-designed it. Not as comfortable now.

Perfect for my nursing school clinicals. Comfortable, a little lighter weight than I like, no blisters, no break-in needed. If you have high arches you may need an insert or another shoe. These shoes are utilitarian, comfortable, not cute, and a great deal.

I needed the non slip soles for work. They are comfortable right out of the box, but I wish they had more foot cushion. My feet are tired by day's end.

Through reading other peoples reviews, I found that if you want this shoe - you should most definitely buy it a size larger than what you normally wear. It's great to use in the service industry since I'm on my feet between 7-12 hours a day. I couldn't tell you much about the arch support because I use an insert to help with preexisting knee pain. Overall, I say if you are required to get a non-slip shoe for work, forget shoes for crews and buy these New Balance because you get what you pay for.

I wear size 5 and I have wide feet so I listened to the previous reviewers and bought a 6 wide. They are very comfortable; however, I feel as though I need more arch support since I'm on my feet a lot as a student nurse. I will probably get some gel cushion for these shoes. I got these in white and they look decent with flare scrub pants but with any other pants, I think they can be a little bulky.

Need all black sneakers for work and found these. I ordered them and received them in 2 days. Amazing, especially that it was a few days before Christmas that the order was placed. I ordered 2 different pairs of black sneakers at the time and I returned 1. The return was also very easy and it was credited to my account right away. Great place to shop.

I love these shoes! I'm taking classes in healthcare that require all-white, all-leather shoes. There are no perforations on top like some sneakers. It also has a skid-resistant sole. As far as fit, I have narrow ankles & slightly wider front. Most of the time, I wear medium-width shoes. But since I'll wear these every day, I ordered the wide width, which was perfect. I can tighten the laces around my narrow ankles. Arch support is moderate, which works well for me, too, since my arches are low-moderate. Great shoes! I may order another pair.

I recently ordered these sneakers for work. I am a bartender/server and work around 60 hours a week. I must say they are very comfortable and it didn't even take a few days to break them in like most sneakers I have purchased. They did run a half a size smaller so I definitely would say to order up. I am very happy with my purchase and would order these again.

Bought the New Balance 512 for work shoes. Slip resistant and comfortable all day. I did have to go to a size 9 wide instead of my normal size 8 1/2 wide. Great shoes and look good.

Very good shoe for work (food service); truly slip-resistant & a good, comfortable fit. A very solid & functional shoe for the price. Zappos' quality service - as always - just can't be beat.

My original size 7 1/2W fit better, but my toes were a little too close to the end so I chose the 8W and placed my orthotic insert inside to fill the sneaker. It fits great and the more I wear it, the better they feel, although I do find the length is a little too long and sometimes my foot scrapes in the front as I walk, but I'm adjusting to it. They are extremely comfortable for someone who has plantar fasciitis. I would highly recommend these for comfort!

After a 12 hour shift your feet will thank you for buying these shoes! Comfortable and lightweight, my feet recommend these for yours!

I bought this shoe for a new job, working in a restaurant where we had to have slip resistant and shoes that work well on grease. This shoe did great and was comfortable enough to use for an 8-hour shift. Not the greatest looking, but I doubt you'd buy a shoe like this for fashion reasons.

I have worn New Balance before and liked them, and these are similar to my old ones. However, my arches are very high and these have no arch support for me. I have had to really hunt for the right orthotics to be able to wear these on long walks.

As a server, I needed a comfortable pair of work shoes that I could be on my feet for an 8 hour shift and not slip. These definitely do the job! For the first 10 min they squeak, but that sound goes away. Normally I wear a size 9, but I ended up having to order a size 9.5 Wide in this shoe, that being said, fits good in front but a little loose in the back.

The shoe meets expectations of a 'tie sneaker' with some support. Do not confuse this shoe with a top of the line Brooks running shoe which I wear almost every day for comfort as well as proper support. This New Balance is fine for a few hours of activities but I would not spend substantial time walking in them. If you judge a shoe by appearance, this shoe falls short as the vinyl upper is very 'cheesy' looking. I would still purchase again for doing laundry, cleaning, running into the store, etc. but not to walk the dog. Also I wear a women's size 11m and bought a 12 and it fits fine.

This is the least comfortable pair of New Balance shoes I've ever worn. Removable insole is paper thin and the frame of the shoe is rough and uncomfortably rigid.

These shoes felt about half a size too small and fairly narrow. They are also more food service shoes than athletic shoes.

I am not happy with this shoe. Not flexible. Stiff. Heel immediately began to wear out. Will not buy again.

These are the most uncomfortable shoes. I can't figure out what happened to the design but you slide to the front and your toes absolutely hurt. They are just awful.

Very satisfied with this purchase. Went to seek advice from my Podiatrist and he recommended this website. When it comes to buying anything w/ a size online, I always get nervous. Is it going to fit? Will they let me return it if it doesn't? But, recently, my husband bought a pair of shoes from Zappos and loved them so much I thought I'd give it a try. I mean, what did I have to lose? If they didn't work, I could return them at any time, postage paid! As it turned out, I shouldn't have worried. These shoes exceeded my expectations in every way. They're cute, comfortable, true to size and width, and I feel like I'm getting the optimal support I want during my workouts. These shoes were not true to size (length). I ordered them in an 8 1/2 which I've worn for years. Other NB styles in this size fit just fine- I could barely get my foot into this shoe. I would suggest ordering at least a 1/2 size larger than usual.

My mom had foot surgery that requires her to wear shoes that leave room in the toe area. New Balance is the only brand she's found comfortable, so I bought her this pair as a gift. She is SO happy with them! They were even delivered earlier than promised. The customer service at Zappos is the best ever, and they sell quality products. Thank you, Zappos!

The shoe is comfortable and very nice looking. The WW512 is nice, but I prefer the 470. Price of either one makes it a good investment for your feet.
