I read the reviews and most of them said to buy a half size smaller. So that's what I did and they are definitely too small and hurting my feet badly. Do not do this. Just buy your size. Now I have to be out quite a bit of money in order to buy the new pair immediately while I wait for the return to process.

The zipper and the leather is great. Gorgeous, brushed brown color. No zipper issue at all. I did order 1/2 size down and think will it be ok? Maybe I could have ordered my actual size but it might have slipped in heel. Little tight around my bunion, but it will stretch. They are fitted in the ankle and calf but do flare slightly at the top. At first I didn't like the flare but have decided it looks cool. Great to tuck skinnies into. Hate them folded over! The heel height is perfect: sexy but not too high! Top of boot comes all the way up to very bottom of my knee cap, but looks fine. I am 5'4 1/2" with average size calves and thin legs. My hubby loved these boots. Buy!

These are my absolute favorite boots. I am a Frye addict, and these top my list. They are versatile (wear them up or folded down), comfortable (the cushioned foot bed allows you to actually wear them, as in walking all over the city), and they are gorgeous. I have red and black -- and continue to receive compliments, especially on the red (which is a lovely deep red, not orangey at all). I have recommended these boots to many, and those who have gotten them have all been very happy. I can also attest that they hold up well. I bought my first pair in September (it's now May) and wore them all through the fall and winter. They are still in fantastic shape, as you would expect from Fryes. Try them. I doubt you'll be disappointed!

Finally, I've found my Fryes! I feel like I've tried on every model, and always they go right back into the box. Too stiff, too uncomfortable, weird sizing...not so with these! They're sexy and gorgeous, and the leather is buttery soft (but still stands up straight). The calf is nice and sleek, and it opens up just a little bit at the top. I like it cuffed and uncuffed, and could see wearing them both ways. Classy, but sexy. I followed the advice of other reviewers and ordered a half size down. Normally a 9, but the 8.5 fits perfectly. And they're very comfortable! Who knew you could get all that in a boot? I couldn't be happier. I'm so glad I kept looking. And, of course, I love Zappos. Thank you for yet another glorious experience! I'm going to go snuggle with my new boots now.

I was on the hunt for the perfect boot. I tried so many on in the store and through Zappos, and finally found Frye Miranda Bank Zip in black perfect. I have gotten many compliments on them. Very, very comfortable, walked Chicago for a long time (not all day but a long time) and still found them comfortable. Very cushioned, high quality leather, and up to the knee tall (I don't fold down the flap like shown in some pictures). Love them and hope they last a long time. I am a consistent 9.5 and the 9.5 is what I ended up with.

I got these in the burnt red and they are gorgeous. I have received so many compliments on just the first day of wearing them. They are pretty comfortable, except the zipper on the back rubbed against my achilles and broke the skin.

After such a search I finally the perfect tall boots. I am 5'7" and these boots come to just below my knees. They are made from lovely leather and are comfortable. The toe runs a bit narrow, but that is a perfect fit.

I purely love these boots. All-leather means no sweaty feet and a little give where I need it (wide feet and muscular calves). At 5', these come just to my knee (with the cuff standing up), and I prefer the back zipper for easy on/off (sometimes an issue with my high instep). These are sexy enough for a night out, sturdy enough to walk miles, and comfy enough to dance the night away... a triple win!

Very classy boot. Love that zips in back, makes it more fitted, & easy to take off & on. I have slim calves, boot is a little loose. But because of way the boot is made still looks nice & doesn't look slouchy. I have to tell you I now have 6 pairs of Frye boots. These are my new favorite. Comfortable, heel height perfect. I'm going back for another color.

Beautiful boot, gorgeous leather, love the heel! Unfortunately too big for me--I usually wear a 6 1/2 or 7 but the 7 was way too big and a 6 1/2 is not available. Also, at 5'2 I am quite short and the boot comes up to mid-kneecap height. I know these boots will look great on a taller person! Meanwhile, I ordered the Frye Jane strappy in 6 1/2 which fits perfectly and I love Zappos easy returns!

Wow! This is my 3rd pair of Frye Boots and I am in love! I have never written a comment for any product but was so compelled to with these boots because they are so comfortable, stylish, and well made. Just like the other two pair I own. The back zipper adds so much! I thought because they were so high it would compromise the comfort, not so. I am already looking for my next pair.

These are real boots, meant to last. I love the assertive stacked leather heel. The fit at the ankle is very sexy combined with the height of the boots. The quality of leather is unusual also as it is soft and flexible but still kind of rugged. I have looked at hundreds of boots this season and these are the only ones I saw with this type of leather. I really like the back zipper which is tough, but still good for very refined dresses. My calves are just a bit larger than average and these boots fit very well. I was shocked that I can actually tuck jeans into them and still be comfortable. Yet, they are not too loose either. Order your true size! Do not size down. I wear a 7½ and my feet are a tad wide. I do not wear wide sizes, and the fit is just fine. They are very comfortable.

OMG is all I can say to describe these awesome boots. I usually wear low heels for comfort, but these boots are deceptively comfortable, and the leather is a buttery soft rich red. Love them!

Ladies! You cannot go wrong with this boot! They are butter soft, comfortable, and the red is the most divine red. So rich yet rugged. I am finally in love with Boots!!!!!

These boots are amazing. I was a little worried about the heel because I usually end up taking my heels off in 5 minutes. These are super comfortable. I was able to walk all around NYC my first time wearing them. I highly recommend them. The back zipper looks great and the boot height is perfect!

If you're looking for a classic black boot, look no further! I've been searching for something simple and chic for months without luck. Ordering the Miranda I was slightly hesitant; it looks a bit clunky in the photos. In reality, this knee high boot is a dream, it's equal parts style and comfort. There are no bells and whistles, no hardware, zero laser cutting, no outlandish platform, super pointy or squared toe. It's straight up classic fashion that will last forever, especially given Frye's craftsmanship. Note, I have somewhat athletic calves--it was a bit tight zipping these up, but absolutely possible over skinny jeans. The side zip also insures pain free ankles and no bunching!

Spectacular! Hot & sophisticated with typical excellent Frye quality & craftsmanship. Beautiful & comfortable. Sadly, I returned because I was looking for something I could wear with a suit to work. These were too smokin' for my suit-wearing job & I can't justify buying two pairs of black heel boots. Note: they look excellent with the flaps up, ugly with them down.

These boots are great, I get compliments on them all of the time. I have not bent the flaps over yet, I think they look better up. I will say that after wearing them all day this past weekend my feet were sore, but I haven't really broken them in yet. I hope this doesn't happen again. Altogether, I would say these are great boots and I will buy another pair of Frye boots again.
