I bought this shoes two weeks ago and even though they are well made and great quality I will return them because they run too small, I am a 7.5m and I think I will need an 8.5 becuase they are very small on me.

I ordered a half size up, as I have my other Frye purchases and it ran quite small. Also, the bottoms were very slippery when trying them on in the house. I am sure they would scuff up nicely with wear, but they felt slippery.

Not comfortable at all. Afraid they'd cause blister because they're uncomfortable tight.

I have several pairs of the Carson Ballet flats in different colors all of them fairly old. These are the same design but the shoe is narrower and the toe box is smaller making these shoes tight in my regular 7.5 size

I ordered a pair of Cognac. The box labels Cognac, but the color of the shoes is dark brown, nothing close to what the picture shows. The shoes are soft and quite comfortable even though the toe box is very shallow. The shoes do not have that sturdy and well made look. Very disappointed.

Just received these today. My usual size 7 fit well, slightly snug to allow some stretching. However, my feet are pretty sensitive and there was some uncomfortably stiff and irritating stitching on the inside. I will likely send them back...sadly. I plan to try the French Sole Sloop in black nappa. I love a beautiful, simple ballet flat.

I was really looking forward to this shoe but I'm a little let down. I first ordered a 9 (half size up from usual) because of reviews suggesting it. They were way too big so I returned them (appreciate this company for the very easy return policy). Ordered and 8.5 and the right shoe feel a little big. I'm going to keep them but I was hoping for a perfect fit. The color is nice (cognac).

I bought the dusty rose color and love the shade. I find that it's very versatile and takes it's hue from the clothing I'm wearing...if I'm wearing blush, it looks more pinkish, if I'm wearing orange, it looks more orangish. So far, I've yet to find something it my closet they didn't look great with. That said, I wish they were more comfortable. I expected them to be stiff as most shoes but I thought they would break in better than they have. After several days of all day wear, I find that they are still stiff in the toe box area. In addition, I CANNOT walk in them for more than just quick errands. Any more than a couple of hours and my pinky toes start to get horribly sore, bordering on blisters. I don't have wide feet, I'd actually say mine are on the narrow side of normal and though I normally wear a 9, I bought these in a 9.5. The fit is good and doesn't slip off the heel. Overall, I probably wouldn't purchase these again because the comfort just isn't there and that's important to me.

I wanted these to work so much as I've been looking for comfortable ballet flats for forever. The quality, color and style were all great but unfortunately, the fit was not what I needed. I'm a size 7 with my left foot being slightly larger than my right. I bought size 7 and they felt true to size, but it kept slipping on my right foot when I walked and really hurting the back of my heel. Maybe if they had elastic so they would grip and stay on they could have worked but it was too painful just walking around the house in them for a few minutes so sadly I couldn't keep them and still on my quest for a comfy pair.

I ordered this shoe in the Charcoal. While the style and comfort were spot on, the color was all wrong. It was not as pictured, and is more of a muted brown/green look to it. I am sending it back and getting it in black. Love Zappos return policy and quick shipping!

I bought these a week ago and they are lovely, made of high quality supple leather, however, they are made for slender, narrow feet and not for direct descendants of Fred Flintstone... Perhaps it's time for Frye to show some love for the duck footed women roaming the world looking for high quality leather ballet flats?

I bought my Carson flats about a year ago. They're extremely comfortable--I have never had a blister, even the first day I wore them! Mine have stretched some, and I'm sad to say that I've worn a hole through the bottom on both shoes because of the leather bottom. They're also really slippery, so if you're like me and very clumsy, I would not recommend. I've fallen down the stairs twice because of these guys. They do fit beautifully and look really nice, but overall, I feel like they don't last long enough based on how much they cost.

I ordered the first pair of these in my size, and they were too small. I sized up and the shoe is still very tight in the toe area. I have narrow feet and have never had a shoe fit like this. I really love the look, but they don't fit properly.

I bought these in September 2014, so I have been wearing them weekly for seven months. Some observations: 1) I bought my size, though they pinched a *wee* bit, in anticipation of the shoes stretching out. They did. Seven months in, they're now a half size too big because they've stretched out. 2) No discoloration and generally the leather has held up, even though I wear them all. the. time. 3) Unfortunately, as pointed out by another reviewer, after a few months, the shoe loses its shape entirely: the sides and the back have lost its shape entirely. Very disappointing, given the price point!

I ordered the Charcoal Antique in size 8. I was hoping for a dark grey, the color was more a brownish grey. I am usually a size 8 but these were too small so I would probably be an 8.5 in these. I returned them as the color wasn't what I really wanted.

I think i finally have the authority to write this post. I own three pairs of frye flats. And i have been using them for a year now. Two carsons. One in cognac and one in plum. Firstly, I realize not all flats are made equal. This maybe because of the color treatment. My brown flats look extremely good with wear and tear. My plum ones have a softer leather that seems to age really fast. You can really see the indentations of my toes in the leather. And as they seem to stretch out, the flats seem to look worse with wear. I love them so much that i cant get myself to throw them out. My brown pair is different. The leather seems to have held up really well and there are no toe indentations. I can feel my toe spilling over the leather base of the flat. This wasnt the case when i bought them or with other pairs i own. Also, the toe coverage for the brown ones are a lot more which i like. I quite dont know why this is. My best friend has a black pair which also has better leather and more coverage. I think there is some difference in the leather when it comes to colored flats. My third pair is a red pair with rubber sole by frye. They are not carsons. They are exremely different and very well made. Just that they dont look as elegant as these ones when they are new. I am really conflicted about picking my next pair to replace these ones when worn out. I dont need arch support and like minimalistic foot ware with no padding/cushings. So i like them for the simplicity.

Ugh, I wish I had paid better attention to the reviews for this shoe! I bought them in black vintage leather, and they are super cute. My normal size is 8-8.5 in Frye boots, so I went with 8.5 to start. They looked like I was wearing my father's shoes--much to long! So I returned them for an 8, which seemed to fit perfectly. I wore them around my house a bit, and they were really comfortable, so I took the plunge and wore them to work yesterday. Let me tell you, believe it when you read reviews saying they stretch! These easily stretched half a size between yesterday and today's wear. My heels are almost slipping entirely out of the shoe when I walk at this point. I know it will only be a few more wears until I need an insert to keep them on my feet. So sad...I have no problem with the price, but with the sizing and stretch factor being so wonky, I probably won't risk another pair.

Watch out! These shoes are EXTREMELY slippery when new. I fell carrying my toddler because the bottoms were so slick. They need to be scuffed before use.

Love these shoes although I haven't worn them yet. I have really long, narrow feet and they seem to fit very well. Usually when I order a size 11 they are way too wide but that's not the case here. Don't be alarmed if your feet are a normal width but if you're wide-footed, these might not be for you. Doesn't seem like they have a ton of support but they are so cute!

Cute shoes but as others have mentioned, tight in the toe box. The shoe felt a little short too. Sadly, I will be returning them.

These are beautiful shoes, fit great from the start, comfortable and look fab, BUT the bottom of these shoes are very slippery and do not seem very durable. I've only had them a month now, and worn them just a handful of times but I am quite concerned that the soles will be torn away quickly. They have a gross feeling when walking on pavement, I can really notice the scraping of any small pebbles or rocks under my feet. So, I would say these are excellent INDOOR ONLY shoes.

I was really disappointed in these shoes. I've never had Fryes before and had high expectations. To me, they run small. 2nd try I ordered a 9. It was the right length but something funny about the fit, Kind of gapped around the top edge while feeling a little narrow. They were not soft as one review said. The sides are really low cut on the ball of the foot area. My foot runs a tad wide. Maybe it's me. They do seem well made.

I am with a lot of the other reviewers. I am not sure what all the buzz and cost is with these flats. I own a number of Frye shoes, mainly boots and wedges, which are worth the cost but I do not think that these are. They are simple flats that pucker at the toes like others said. It is just the soft leather that does it. The sole needs to have some rubber to make it non slip. They are not like slippers out of the box but I am sure that they would break in quickly. I got the dark red which looks almost brown in the photos but is a nice deep red in the sun. I have the other bright red but in boots and those are fire engine.

I wanted desperately for these to work - they are buttery soft and so comfy and exactly the look I am going for. But they just didn't fit. I can often wear a size 11, but if it runs even a teensy bit small, it doesn't work (see also: Mossimo. Shoe shopping at Target is a form of masochism for me ) - my true size is probably 11.5, and so I often order both an 11 and a 12 if it's a brand I've never tried and don't know my best size in. Sadly, in these, the 11s were too small (as in too short - width was perfect), and the 12s were too big - I think they probably run about a quarter size under the labeled/typical size, which may sound crazy, but I have tried on a lot of shoes. :)

Love this shoe and it's color, just too wide through the heel. One shoe actually felt a tad bigger than the other. So sad, they have to go back.
