I've had this shoe now for some months and have to say I just love this shoe and wear it to death. I'm thrilled to see that the brown shades are back in stock. I don't ordinarily do this, but I bought the shoe in black owing to the fact that the browns that I liked were out and remained such for awhile. Though I took my second choice, I never had a moment's regret. The shoe is just so sassy/classy with a hearkening to a Texas boot with its chunky boot-like heel and slightly upturned toe box. I wear it with slacks, pair it with boot-legged jeans and casual jacket, and love it with opaque tights and a knee-length skirt. I confess, here in the South, the Oxford has not yet hit big and give 'em a season or two, however, when I travel back home to the Northeast, this shoes garners so many compliments and queries as to their make and origin of purchase. I wear my custom orthodics in them, no problem. This shoe fit me out of the box, even with my orthos.

This are my fifth pair of Fryes. I always wear 6½ with Fryes but often wear a 7 in other brands. For reference, my Veronica Slouches in 6½ were very snug initially (I almost exchanged them for a larger size), and I had to break them in for a couple of months, while my Melissa Buttons in 6½ fit great right out of the box. I ordered these in 6½ and yes, they seem about ½" too long in the toe, but the sizing is otherwise perfect. I think a smaller size would be too narrow from my experience, but Fryes do stretch nicely when they initially feel a tad snug. I have high arches and my feet are a tad on the narrow side. I got the cognac (the tan was sold out), and it is a beautiful rich brown color that goes well with just about any color! They are so much cuter on my feet than I even hoped for.

Have these in two colors now. They are so comfortable yet stylish. I like that they are more feminine than some of the others I tried on. I vary from a 7.5 or an 8. The 7.5 fitted me perfectly. I did get a blister first day I wore them but I was wearing thin socks and walked the dog 4 miles! They are nicely broken in now!

I am a 10 in most shoes, but take a 9.5 in these. Each pair fits differently, I had to try a few, which zappos was great about. If you are looking for a perfect oxford, look no further. Like all Fryes, nice substantial leather that will last for years. The toe box on this is extra roomy. Good alternative to sneakers, which do not stretch or mold to your foot. Heel is high enough to look fancy, yet is more comfortable than a flat sole. Can dress up or down: have worn these with a gown and fishnets...but they work equally well with menswear such as tweed trousers.

Love these oxfords! I wear 8.5 or 9 and have a slightly wide foot. In Frye I always wear 8.5, but not this time. The 8 fits perfectly. The 8.5 actually had that clown look, since they were too big and the toe curls up. But when I sized down a half size, they looked feminine and amazing. Bought the fawn color and it is a perfect neutral and the color makes the style show to advantage. The toe box is cushioned well, but no arch support. Very comfortable!

I cant believe how fast I received my exchange! I got my exchange n less than 24 hours! Great customer service! So here are the measurements on the 7 1/2. Please compare to measurements on the review I wrote for the size 7 in Smoke. Heel to toe - 10.5 inches widest part - 3.75 back heel - 2.5 inches. I measured across the top of the shoe that covers the top of the foot and got 7 inches. I wear a 7.5 in all Born shoes so I think these are true to size. So far I'm very happy with these shoes. I hope to be able to wear them without too much break in.

These are pricey but great shoes. I am normally a size 9, and after reading other reviews that suggested getting a half size down, I ordered a 9 and an 8.5. The 8.5 fit great, so the 9 went back. I usually break new shoes in by only wearing them at work, and after about a week of daily office wear, these broke in nicely. They were slightly stiff at first, and the laces were stiff as well, so they tended to come untied, but they are softer now, and the laces have broken in too. They look great as professional as well as casual shoes. They are very high quality, so I don't mind paying more for them. I expect them to last a good long time, and they can be resoled or reheeled as need be.

There aren't many shoes I can just put on out of the box and wear. This is one! Very well crafted, beautiful leather, comfortable and great with pants, jeans and casual skirts & dresses. I love them, well worth the price.

Wow! This shoe is beautiful. I bought it half intending to send it back, since, even on sale, these shoes are a chunk of change for me. But, after taking the Carson Oxfords out of the box, I can't stand to part with them. They are strikingly attractive, well-made, and yes, comfortable. It is so clear that the higher cost leads to higher quality here. They are much more stylish and feminine in person than they appear in these photos. Go for it! These shoes are worth it.

Once again Frye does for me! A very retro/British look, true to size and quite elegant, yet wonderful for jeans.

These are my favorites! They are really comfortable, look cool, yet dressy enough for work. I usually do not spend this much on a pair of shoes, but these are worth it. They make a nice clicking sound when you walk. I feel great in them!

Wow, awesome oxfords! The price tag was a little scary, but they are lovely and high quality - I suspect they will last a long time. These have already molded to my foot after only a few wears. I ordered 1/2 size down and the fit was perfect (but I also have narrow feet). I just purchased my 2nd pair of Fryes - the Engineer 8R. Hopefully they will be as great as these!

I received these shoes yesterday and fell in love with them as soon as I opened the box...and then I put them on...and needless to say, they did not disappoint! They fit like a glove and are so incredibly comfortable! I've been wearing them all day today walking around and I can't even tell I have a new pair of shoes on..there was no breaking in on these beautiful oxfords. I'm usually between an 8 and 8.5, I ordered an 8 and they're perfect. Sometimes I feel like my feet are a bit wide but these were perfect. This is my first pair of Frye shoes and I can't wait to pick out my next pair, they're completely worth every penny! Love them!

I just got these in fawn. I am in love. This is my fifth pair of Fryes and they may be my favorite so far. In other brands I am an 8½-9. I got these in an 8½ and they fit well. In person the fawn color is a cool toned taupe brown. They are absolutely stunning in person. They are very refined and at the same time casual. I got them to wear to the office but definitely plan to wear them with jeans or cropped pants as well. I love them.

These shoes are extremely comfortable. I'm a teacher and I wore them to work on the first day, and they didn't hurt at all. They look great, very classic, with all styles of pants and skirts. My only minor issue is that the toe is quite a bit more pointed than I feel it appears from the angles of the photos. Not exactly what I expected, but I still love them because I know they will last forever.

Yes, they run big. I am a true 8.5B, and I had to return these to get 8's. I love these shoes mostly because of how they feel, and I have issues with one foot and leg with nerve damage and instability. The shoe makes me feel stable, the heel height is perfect, and the cushioning is amazing. The fact that I get a lot of compliments is beside the point!

Love these shoes. I wear a 7 1/2 or 8, depending. I purchased the size 8 because I wanted to wear thicker socks than my normal think pants socks. The shoes fit perfectly. They're not cowboy boots, but they do have a slightly longer feel at the toe. There's plenty of room for my somewhat wide toes and ball of foot area. They were a little slick to begin with, but broke in nicely and now I feel comfortable walking up and down the steep and wet streets of Seattle. The soles are still smooth enough to take a quick spin on the dance floor, should you be inclined.

Love. They gave me massive blisters the first time I wore them, but with thin socks, I was able to break them/stretch them out. Highly recommended. So cute, the heel really puts these over the edge into envy-inducing territory. I catch other girls around my college campus eying them daily.

These are a great staple to have in my shoe closet. Works well with skinny pants and skirts -- not as cute with boot cut and flare jeans. I wear a size 9 in the Harness boot so I ordered both the 8.5 and 8. Ultimately I kept the 8 because I have a flatter arch and narrower foot. The 8 felt a little narrow across my left foot but it has stretched since wearing. I really like this shoe!

I love this shoe, so comfortable, casual yet stylish, could leave it on all day! Love the color, also. I want more of them, just wish they were less expensive; but at least you get quality with this pair.

These oxfords are the coolest! They're so comfortable, well-made and stylish. They're expensive, but I can tell they'll last a long, long time. They run a half-size large, it seems, and the heel is a bit taller than it looks in the picture.

Very well made shoe - these will definitely last forever...first couple of wearings they were a bit uncomfortable because they are really stiff heavy leather. But, once they started to break in a bit they are really comfortable. Just the right heel height for an alternative to flats.
